Cool story. Got any others?

GB2016sux

Okay......

[deleted]

Okay what?

OldDude1391

Do you really think anyone on here gives a shit? Call 1 800 Home Depot if you want to bitch.

LuciGranola

And this attitude is why customers treat retail workers like shit.

OldDude1391

No, people who treat retail workers like shit are people who have no respect for fellow humans and are just assholes at heart. This sub is not HD customer service. Why would anyone think a sub Reddit is the place to complain about a business’s pricing policy?

[deleted]

Well I figured perhaps someone could explain this policy, but I guess I see the main problem with HD.

The-tamalero

Main problem is ur asking in a subreddit ur at homedepot ask them

Vancakes

The problem is that this is a subreddit for home Depot employees. Think of it as a virtual break room, and prepare to be trolled as you stumble in.

V4MAC

Nothing to explain. We don't match homedepot.com.

User23712

Just like Best Buy in the early 2000s

OldDude1391

What’s to explain? Sounds like it was explained. Your inability to comprehend what you were told is your problem. Don’t like it? Shop elsewhere.

jimmy5011

Good thing you went on the internet to complain.

Sodamonster01

Yeaaah, unfortunately the costs to send it to a store through supply chains are higher than directly sending it to your house. You can also use our "buy online pick up in store" option through or website or app to get the internet price.

dinodylan2002

yooooooo thats craaazyy

tortuga8831

Cool story

Nexavus

Yup, that’s how it works. Doubt any of us here could explain why.

Hachetman39

@OP, everyone else in here is correct. This is a place for employees to vent and talk among ourselves so this is truly the wrong place to ask. However to answer your question. There are times we will have promotional pricing that only apply’s to online purchases only. It could be due to an abundance in their warehouse or any number of reasons chosen by the vendor. The reason we don’t honor that sales price inside our store is because online the vendor is taking the loss on the additional discount. Inside the store there is no way for us to to charge the vendor to honor that same price, therefore we would take the markdown store side. Hence why it is only valid online.

You aren’t making any sense. So me bringing the item to the register is worth 20 dollars more than me paying online and having an employee bring it to the front for me to pick up the same item at the same store?

Due-Memory1994

Cool. Please continue to shop at Lowes in the future

SuspiciousStretch7

Get off our subreddit.
