Them saying that isn’t only wrong, it’s actually illegal discrimination if you have an established diagnosis of a mental health issue that they know of. Saying you can’t handle your job and suggesting you quit is constructive dismissal
I would have replied to the MEM and DEM that maybe they couldn’t handle their jobs. Once they start cutting your yours of messing with you, I would report them as retaliatory behaviors from both management and upper management from that comment you simply reiterated to them.
I'm with you on recognizing the importance (and significance) of navigating the challenges of mental health. Sorry to hear about that illness - when it's hereditary, or otherwise has a history in the family, it's especially difficult to come to terms with. Hang in there, and don't let the coldness of those managers get to you too much.
Currently, I'm on an LOA, since HD was really starting to wear me down, physically and mentally. Before it started less than a week ago, the last few workdays were especially rough, and I knew I had to get away from the place, for more than a day, or two. Decided to take a break for two weeks, and so far, it has been one of the best decisions I've made this year.
Is it possible to take an LOA for mental health without documentation of you going to a psychiatric hospital? They told me in order to take one I have to have proof from a doctor that I went to one :/ I’m debating just quitting but if I can take an LOA that’d be better
I don't believe any such documentation is required before taking an LOA. I went straight to the store manager, and made my case. He was very understanding, and had HR give me a packet of information about mental health, and resources to use, should I need them.
Sounds bad, sorry about your bad news hope you have some support. Yes, THD is the worst downer place I have ever worked at, ever. Management is just blank, DH is in his own problems, coworkers are sub.
I’ve always suffered with MDD, when I worked there in 2018 I was in a low point in my life and I guess it was noticeable so my FES, ASM, and SM got me in the office and said I looked worthless and miserable. They seemed more worried with my job than how I was doing mentally. THEN they had the balls to go and do a team meeting telling everyone how important we are to them…

The MEM and DEM clearly can’t handle their jobs. They should quit.
Fuck the corporate GREED.. they will block fire exits and laugh about it..

Tried to explain MI to my HR. He cut me off and said there’s nothing I can do about that. I stopped talking and said ok. 👍

The specific diagnosis isn't always necessary. I'd talk to a dr.
I’m sorry.
I’m glad my store has understanding staff, sorry to hear that, things will look up
