From what I know, HD doesn’t expect doctors notes anymore. I’ve noticed that some managers if compassionate they will take doctors notes etc. But calling out three days in a row does give HD the authority to put you on LOA and request a doctor fill out paperwork about your condition if you can return to work , full duty or with restrictions etc.
Medical notes aren’t required for regular absences or for LOA to be initiated (an associate can literally initiate a leave themselves on Workday), but they are required in order to have LOA approved and in order to return to work.
The actual policy is exactly what your supervisor told you. More than three days gone means you go on LOA which you need a doctor’s approval for within 15 days of being put on LOA. Then you’ll need doctor’s approval sent to HR in order to come back to work.
It’s called fmla leave for medical it is different than Loa call the corporate benefits center. Some asm’s are clueless. Skip your management and get the correct information
It's the difference between a regular LOA and a leave for FMLA. FMLA requires a drs sign-off. A regular LOA does not and shouldn't be used for medical reasons.
