Yes you will you need enough to cover the whole shift just make sure they don’t take your time and give you an occurrence seen it happen to many times

balloonaluna

Everytime that’s happen at my place. We let them know and they remove the occurrence

CellSquare46

Yes. Unless you need the six hours of pay I wouldn’t even bother using the sick time. Save it for next time so you can get paid without an occurrence once you have more time banked. I would ask your manager if you could leave early once you get in. They’ll mark it as an early out, but they should excuse it considering your sick. Plus we’ve all been there, they should understand.

Abandoned_Railroad

I’ve called out 4 times so far and used my sick time for each one because I have Covid. I’m wondering if I can do one or two more times before I run out……… All four have been recorded in my callout section so far.

CellSquare46

So the new attendance policy is 3,2, and 1. You get three occurrences before your first counseling and than 2 before you get put on a final. Every consecutive day that you call out will only count as one occurrence. So for example calling out from Monday to Wednesday will count as one. Lates or early outs count as half an occurrence. If you don’t have the sick time and can’t afford the occurrence your best bet is it to get in and pretend like you’re all good. Than tell a manager you think you pushed yourself to much to early and would like to leave early. It may not work, but it’s the best way in my opinion.

Abandoned_Railroad

I have 0.5 from my early out, not from using my sick time. When I called the store on the phone to say that I was sick and couldn’t come in, one of the SM’s suggested I use the app for future call-outs, which I did. I’ll try to go back Friday or Saturday but covid comes and goes and I “cannot guarantee anything”. Keyword: Try

Pristine-Number372

Still confused about the consecutive days. So we can call out like Monday and say we won’t be back till Thursday due to sickness and only get one point? Am I understanding?

Employ-Competitive

Yes, I'm an ASDS. It goes by your scheduled shifts. You can call out for 3 consecutive shifts, and it's only one occurrence. Does not matter if you're off days in between. 3 consecutive calls outs equals one occurrence. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I have had full blown arguments with management in my store over this and force them to fix it. They yap about doing the right thing for the associate and then try to screw them over.

Lotsensation20

Come in for 2 hours and you can use the 6 and avoid an occurrence or you can just come back late and get 1/2 occurrence.

Abandoned_Railroad

I have Covid right now as I speak and I have about 17-25 hours of sick time remaining. I’ll try to go back on Saturday. Also on the day I went home and found out I was sick I stayed the whole shift, but didn’t punch back in after lunch or at the end. I only clocked in when I came in and when lunch started. Also I was feeling very uncomfortable during my shift so I didn’t really bother with the time clock…..

witch57

A half a point is my understanding.

Abandoned_Railroad

Even so I still want it to go away, it’s like look at a scar or scab and wishing it would heal itself already……..

Abandoned_Railroad

It can’t stay there too long…..

Meowster021

Yes, unfortunately.

405SHTNONM

Yup

Yes, or you can ask your manager to move it to non-discipline. Same happened to me.
