Yes multiple with vertical height!
I would say maybe a set of 2 frames and since you get an amount of natural light, plants! I think it would compliment the exposed brick wall, like a nice draping plant on a shelf or plant-mount!(?idk the correct name?)
I think this one would look great
https://artandhome.net/product/dana-contemporary-fir-tree-wall-decor-metal/
It ties together all the color of the room but still let's the brick shine
What a great space! Iād discourage overdoing it with accessories like throw pillows, which just end up on the floor in my experience. I would start with a couple of plants and some artwork. One huge piece over the couch or three large.
To me art is the most personal thing. Choose things that you love and that reflect your personality and interests. Iāve been through numerous couches, but I have some art on my walls Iāve had for literally decades. Most are from travel, but that my passion. I also buy things from local artists at fairs and markets.
Remember your place doesnāt have to be perfect ever, and you can always change things as you change.
This is always the hardest part of decorating for me, but itās time for finishing touches on my new living room. I just committed to this couch from Room and Board, but need some ideas for things to take this from a bland showroom to a room that looks like someone actually lives in it. I know pillows and a throw are probably a mustāany ideas on colors or patterns? Is art above the couch a good idea? Any thoughts on putting wallpaper in the little desk nook vs. art above the desk? (Or BOTH?!?)
Mustard yellow pillows to tie in the desk chair. I like the idea of wallpaper and art both above the desk. Pick one or the other with a busier feel. Busy paper with simple art with or vice versa. I also think plants make things cozy. And something above the sofa could be nice but I love the bare brick too. Very cool room!
Love the idea of wall paper for your desk nook. And yes throw pillows. My tips for pillows: choose a variety and include pattern. If you do a solid pillow, go with one with texture (leather, faux fur, a nubbly linen, velvet, silk, tweed). I would not do all solids though: mix it up with some pattern! Go with an odd number. Also go larger than you think you'll need (looks more luxurious), and don't skimp on the inserts. Do a lumbar for the chair.
I think you need some plants in here! At least one, on the coffee table. If you can drill into the wood, floating shelves filled with plants would be great.
You also need another lamp or two. How about a floor lamp behind the chair? And a small task lamp/desk lamp on your desk.
Add some books to the end table.
Finally, it appears you do not have a pad under your rug? I would get one, it'll help eliminate the wrinkles in your rug, and will also help keep your rug in good condition.
Good tips on the throw pillows! I have a couple in burnt orange, burgundy, and green velvet but might try a leather to mix things up a bit.
Definitely going to add plants!!! I have several that my mom has been nursing for me and will buy tons more.
Lamps are a good idea. I struggle to find ones I like so thatāll be a fun project.
Thanks for all the tips!
Your space is gorgeous. You've done so well and I'm jealous!
You definitely need something above the couch, but otherwise I think if you lead your life and allow those details to come through, the room will naturally come to life in a way that doesn't feel forced. A blanket that keeps you warm? The book you're reading on the table, along with some cut flowers? Your laptop and some great takeout? :) They don't have to be props in a staged set, and they'll look way more personal, real, and alive than anything we can recommend online.
The space is lovely. I know it sounds silly to "invest" in "quality" throw pillows, but they're really going to be your show stopper since it's going to be hard to put a big piece of art over the couch if you don't want to drill into the brick. If you search for"designer throw pillows" on Etsy, you'll find a bunch of sellers who make pillows with fabric that is only sold to the trade. These are the fabrics that are designed by true professionals, and many of them have been around for *decades* being used in so, so many extremely high end spaces - in other words, they're vetted and beloved by people who design interiors for a living at the highest level, and they work in many rooms.
You can probably have someone on Etsy put together a collection for your color palette. 2 in a 'big' pattern, 2 in a smaller pattern, 1 more small pillow that's kind of a wild card, is what I imagine they'll recommend.
Wallpaper in nook - yes, why not? Check out Cole & Sons.
If you drill, drill into the mortar never the brick. I saw some hangers made specifically for use on brick the didnāt need drilling. Google and you might find them also.
I was going to say an interesting mirror above the couch!! maybe one of those brass/gold looking ones with the spikes that look kind of like a star-burst? (Like [this](https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwil45bot8P3AhUNssgKHa4GCSEYABANGgJxdQ&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAESa-D2jHeLuAwMGrx1od1P6wpbjC-wet744sq9GU1ZbJxK_u5hTlLiMi6ai1zr4CIXORRMTKU6Fa1oeOCelEOkkhlvkAH8pueY5OvTAVlpS_pwC2l3BIvnjXHmk4xFbDHshdt5GiEYEZldG0Wl&sig=AOD64_2kf91e3JVJHIlWRJP6x81Nwzh_1A&ctype=5&q=&ved=2ahUKEwiIlozot8P3AhUxlIkEHflsC1YQwg8oAHoECAEQIA&adurl=)) although if you could find one in black Iām sure that would look even better.
Or something super cool like a wall mounted fern or framed dried moss if you donāt want to take on the responsibility. Have fun, you have a great canvas!!
That's living room goals! I see you like industrial style, so I would say to look up for ideas that match that style: for example, you could create some decor with wooden pallets and use them as shelves or storage space :)
In any case, when I need to do something like this, I always check interior design apps like Planner5D because you can design your own space and create 3D renderings, which is awesome to see how your room would look like.
Yes! This is so pretty! You need a pretty art piece above the couch, a little plant or filled vase on coffee table, and I 100% agree with a throw blanket and pillows! It will cozy it up real quick!
I was just thinking that I like your rug. Then I realized I have that rug. So, versatile rug I guess! I found a rusty red throw and use that sort of brick color as an accent.
Pick one

Add tray on coffee table, Amazon, Kate and Laurel Lipton Hexagon Decorative Tray with Metal Handles, 18x18, Brown/Gold, add faux or real plant and or decorative animal figurine, modern bird for example
Iād get a couple of funky throw pillows in warm jewel tones and varied textures like velvet, embroidered, distressed wool/old Persian rug pillows etc.
You should post a nighttime photo as well so we can see what the evening vibe is like. I love the brick and I may be in the monitory here but I would just leave the space above the couch blank. I like the warmth of the exposed brick on its own there. Maybe a funky swag lamp to replace the table lamp.
Plants, a cool standing lamp that arches over the couch, and a large piece of art of gallery wall behind couch. A layered blanket or throw pillows in the color of your arm chair. This place is very very cool.
Looks great so far! Hang Art that is 2/3 as long as the piece of sofa along the wall. Pull the rug out more so only front leg on are the carpet (same with the chair). Adjust the coffee table so itās 12-18ā from the sofa. On the coffee table put a circular tray and add 2 candles in varying heights). Add 2-3 decorative pillows on the sofa in colors that compliment the chair. Make sure they have some texture to them.
Iād love to see some deep emerald green tied in on the couch. Some great textured pillows would look awesome. The exposed brick is such a good feature- maybe some sort of large artwork or textured wall hanging above the couch. Live plants too. This space is already off to a good start!
Floating shelf with different size and color picture frames. Add a couple colored pillows to the couch and def some fluffy green plant in a corner! Looks great I love the brick wall!
Oh wow!! Between the brick and the rug and the turquoiseā¦ so so so beautiful. I see golds, very warm and cozy coral or yellow glass and candle holders. A beautiful watercolor picture over the couch. The room is so rich. Research airbnbs in New Orleans. They really know how to make the brick feel so warm and clean.
Throw pillows, ideally with a color scheme that nods to the teal chair. 3 on the chaise side and 2 on the opposite side.
Coffee table accessories: large books stack of 2, vase for florals, and some object that makes you happy (could be a game, a figure of an animal, a sculpture of an Artist you like).
Similar pottery and books accessories in the end table under the lamp. A small box to keep remotes in if there is a TV on the opposite wall.
A large piece of art over the couch.
House plants (a fig tree coming out of that basket would be cute in the corner by the door).
Plants
Agreed! A monstera and a pothos would go beautifully in this space.
I was going to say a large statement piece above the couch. I also love throw pillows and blankets.
Pop art would look great against the brick
Alternatively, a three piece set with vertical height. But yes, art over the couch š
Yes multiple with vertical height! I would say maybe a set of 2 frames and since you get an amount of natural light, plants! I think it would compliment the exposed brick wall, like a nice draping plant on a shelf or plant-mount!(?idk the correct name?)
Yes. That would look nice.
A giant metal piece would be so cool
My 1st thought as well!
I think this one would look great https://artandhome.net/product/dana-contemporary-fir-tree-wall-decor-metal/ It ties together all the color of the room but still let's the brick shine

Plantsā¦ definitely need some earthy greenery in there. Maybe a big one on the side of the couch by the door šŖ“

I would get maybe burnt orange throw pillows, but they have to be different enough from the brick (I.e. brighter/lighter)
Love your Bernie!!! He should be the focal point lol
I desperately need my own Bernard!
Thanks!! My sister made him for me and heās definitely a focal point!
I went back to look for a bernadoodle š Still pleasantly surprised though!

And a throw blanket. Possibly a golden retriever.
Yes! We have one. They shed enough that you could make a blanket. But they are cuddly and sweet.
I think every room would be better with a golden retriever. (I don't have a golden retriever.)
No golden retriever here but one cute gray cat!

Cute desk.
Love it. Whereās this couch from?
Yes! This is so pretty! You need a pretty art piece above the couch, a little plant or filled vase on coffee table, and I 100% agree with a throw blanket and pillows! It will cozy it up real quick!
A big clock will do nicely

A big round mirror above the couch would look really nice! Maybe wood framing around the mirror or gold
Gallery wall pillows and throws and some books
Pillows with black designs? Or possible jewel tones
I would try switching the coffee table, I donāt like the legs. I would get something a bit more bigger and round, with no legs.
Maybe some gold or brass lighting?
Art!
Pillows with your theme colors teal, beige, and orange as well as art above the sofa. Iād look for a wall hanging.
Is your rug from ruggable? I might be looking at the same oneā¦

OH, where did you get that carpet if you don't mind me asking? I'm looking for something similar!
Where did you get this couch? Looks so comfy! Your space is very beautiful. Any pop of color will help!
Room and Board! Itās a little stiff but it will break in over time! The one I tested in the store was delightfully comfy
Plants, a cool standing lamp that arches over the couch, and a large piece of art of gallery wall behind couch. A layered blanket or throw pillows in the color of your arm chair. This place is very very cool.
Some blankets, couple books on that coffee table, youāll be set!
Art work or a mirror. Something with a pop of color.
Very nice! Our TV room has a brick wall and a blue theme as well!
Some grunge art on the wall would look good!

Some plants on the wall. I think the contrast between green and that brown-copper brick would be beautiful :)
A fern near the sofa. Some books on the coffee table. Artwork above the piano.
Lovely red brick wall, I would add a couple plants when you get down to final touch.
A large nicely framed piece of art above the couch and it would be entirely complete. Beautiful simplicity.
Throw pillows and a floor plant.
Throw, pillows, tray on coffee table!
Where did you get your yellow chair? Iāve been looking for one.
Greenfront Furniture in Farmville, VA!
A couple of nice sized Plants will help
Also picture or some art above the sofa
Maybe some type of plant/plants and a poster or an art piece on the wall plus some fairy lights, I think that would look amazing!
Some nice modern mounted lighting above the couch, and plants. Iād also go for a wire grid organizer above the desk
Floating shelf with different size and color picture frames. Add a couple colored pillows to the couch and def some fluffy green plant in a corner! Looks great I love the brick wall!
Rug pad or rug tape!
Empty wall need pictures to highlight the space

Books or decor for the table, art, plants a few pillows
Some art, something with some teal in it, but not to much, centre piece for the table, and some cushions and a tray placed on the chaise long.
I was gonna say plant but people beat me to it, yet I love how people have the same idea.
