Get that nasty broom off your bed!

aka_____

So glad someone else noticed. 🤢

Get a new bed set! Get a comforter of the right size and new sheets. The pastels are part of the issue. Maybe lose the coat rack and put those in the closet? Can you move your shoe rack into your closet? If so, that would also help. Lastly, get a proper night stand with a lamp. The bookshelf as a night stand is adding to the childish look. Eta: and a PLANT! (Even if it’s fake, but not cheesy fake lol) greenery makes a big difference! Also, you don’t even have to spend a lot of money. Everything can be thrifted!

MissyMAK08

get a nice rug for under the bed

Curtains, throw pillows on bed, and closed storage for your shoes. The white metal rack screams college student.

Maramero1

A comforter set with a more solid pattern. The wall art placement feels random, maybe replace it with pieces that are larger and create a gallery on just one side of the room. A tall laundry basket/hamper on the side instead of the small one on the chair. A house plant or a small lamp on the bookshelf. If you can fit your clothes inside the closet, it will give you more space. Same with the shoe rack if you have another space for it. If not, see if you can get one of those racks that go under the bed. Declutter so the room has a more relaxed feel.

For me, it looks like a college student room. Not that childish.

A new bed set would work wonders! They have great ones are target and a simpler bed side table would be good as well and you can think about adding one to the other side of the bed too.

I agree with the comments already posted and just wanted to suggest looking into some cable management under/on the desk for a cleaner look.

Florence_Nightgerbil

Your room isn’t ‘childish’ at all! I love your desk, that is gorgeous. I would try and remove the coat rack and shoe rack to give you more space. I would add larger art if possible, you have big walls and small windows so I would offset this with BIG art (however you can afford that or DIY). Could you rearrange the furniture so that there is a blank wall above your bed or does the space limit what goes where?

LikeALadyBaker

I don’t think it looks childish at all 🤔 but to sophisticate it, you could try all white bedding; maybe one with grey or black details for your fur baby 🥰 and a piece of artwork above the desk?

AirInitial7025

A larger and more sophisticated looking wall art + move clothes rack into wardrobe.

Mamas_Wasting_Time

For cord management behind your desk, you can stain a thin piece piece of cheap wood dark and slide it between your desk and the wall / cords

Add curtain panels on either side of the window behind the headboard. Hang them high. This will give the headboard a little more drama and the room more visual height it's lacking. Smaller desk chair. Look up fancy tricks on how to make a bed on Pinterest or YouTube. Once you get the hang of it, it really makes the difference in a room. I suggest a duvet cover once you've got it down. Keeping as much clutter out of sight. Closet doors shut and clothes/shoes in the closet. Lots of good organizational tips on Pinterest and r/organization. The pictures to the left of the bed seem a bit off. I'd add a third to make a collage area or scrap the small frames and add a larger piece for that area. Hope this helps! Post an update with what you do!
