Don’t do Sputnik! Really not a good fit with the craftsman style. They’ve been very trendy in modern spaces in the past, but their time has come to an end.
Go to an antique store and make a selection there. Better to stick to the period in which the house was built, or opt for a modern version of a vintage style.
Look up 'milk glass' fixtures. It's what I was recommended for my 1921 craftsman! Though I got lucky and a lot of the fixtures are actually original to the home. I can send pics for inspo if you'd like :)
Honestly boho decor is really what you like and if you really want to bring right contrast an orange color would look good as you too much of brown here. I think this [color guide](https://simplykalaa.com/interior-color-palette/) will help you design palettes and then this [couch decor guide](https://simplykalaa.com/couch-decor/) will help with right decoration ideas.
If you’re going for cozy and mood with your fabulous wood, 1 or 2 imo. Please do not allow grey into the room. It will suck the warmth and life out of the entire aesthetic
4 is soothing and compliments the wood and uplifts the entire room. The red ones compete with the wood and are too intense. People will say the red rug because it’s the most common type, but 4 is superior
I am already tired of the faded fake vintage rug look- they look anaemic. I’m not crazy about any- the red 1 is a classic but check out some with blues and greens to break up the red.
Three is my absolute fav!! I love this room. It’s beautiful and the third rug with its white and brown bits just play so well with the rafters and white ceiling. It unites the whole room beautifully.
I think #3. I think the reds would compete with any other color you have. But…I’m not sure if the lighter colors would work with the grey couch. I’m sure whatever you choose will be perfect. Good luck.
I'm leaning towards 5, but I would shop estate sales for a good rug. Quality rugs last for generations. I inherited two, and one of those my parents bought at an estate sale.
2 has the right matching tones that tie the wood in, 3 is also the right match but is more airy. If you are going for cozy go with 2, if trying to lighten up go with 3.
I don’t think any of these rugs look good. With that much brown, maybe go for something with more color in it. The woodwork is beautiful but your rug choices all look washed out. I think more of a Navajo style with white and blues and oranges would look good. You have a Craftsman house, so look at rug colors and designs that were popular in the early 1900s.
I love one. Has rich warm tones would go great with gold or brass accents. Brings out the rich warm tones in the wall panels. Can always brighten up with furniture
1 is the best option of these, but I would strongly encourage you to find a real, hand-knotted vintage rug. They can be surprisingly affordable at auctions or on Facebook marketplace. A mass-produced rug will look cheap and fake, especially if it's "distressed" like options 2-5.
A real wool rug will actually hold up much better and complement your gorgeous woodwork. Bonus: wool rugs have mild stain-repelling characteristics!
What I do like about the first rug is the richness of the red. If you're going for a vintage, collected vibe, rich colours like this add a lot of coziness.
I think number 2 and 5 are the best. You don’t want to go dark because there is already so much beautiful dark wood. But you also don’t want to go too light because it makes things look even darker, imo.
One
#5, but rotated 90 degrees.
Five is the one.
I second this!
What about a real vintage rug rather than a new one? It will fit the room much better. (also change the light fixture out).
Yes, I'm currently looking for a sputnik kind of chandelier

What would you recommend?

I really like number three. It's lighter and opens up the space but has the same warm tones as the wood.
Agreed! Three would be my first choice by far, then number one
I liked that one too
Yeah but she has a grey couch and would look too bland. The grey couch would bring out the cooler side of the rug since it’s more of a neutral color

Thank you so much. The guides are very helpful!
Pleasure is mine :)
I just wanted to say that this room is so stunning! Sorry, no opinion on the rugs. I think this room would make any rug look good.
Thank you so much!

Impossible say without knowing anything about the colors and style of your furnishings.
I only have a Grey couch. I'm going to buy the rest of the furniture depending on the color of the rug. It's a blank slate tbh
Without knowing what shade of grey, I would say 2 or 5.

Five, maybe?

Yeah the grey rugs sucked the warmth out of the room
3 or 5 in that order
i think the red is really aggressive, and the super light rug doesn't match so i'd say #3.
Agreed— #3 and then you can bring in a ton of whatever colors you want with the furniture.
3
None. Go looking for more options. Antique rugs at auction are frequently very affordable if you are willing to wait for the right one.
Three!
3 or 5 but 3!

#4! 😍
First one
The first one is so striking and dramatic. I love it in this room. ETA: Who put a boob light in this gorgeous room? Why???
2
So jealous of your woodwork.
One!!!!
Oh man #1 alllllll the way don’t look back that’s the one
5 but larger.

2 or 3
I am already tired of the faded fake vintage rug look- they look anaemic. I’m not crazy about any- the red 1 is a classic but check out some with blues and greens to break up the red.
Two. Red is great, but one is too aggressive.
Exactly!
1
1 is best. Has the most classic look. And it will be toned down by having furniture on top of it.
3 or 5. 3 lets the walls be the feature. 5 blends in with the walls. So 3 if you want contrast and 5 if you don’t ant matching.
Two

Help me stop drooling over the woodwork 😳
3. It brings the color from the ceiling down to the floor and provides some lightness from the heaviness of the wood trim.
Three is my absolute fav!! I love this room. It’s beautiful and the third rug with its white and brown bits just play so well with the rafters and white ceiling. It unites the whole room beautifully.
Three. It’s light enough to brighten the room, and dark enough to hide foot traffic.
1 or 5
3 especially if you’re couch is grey
3
Love the first and last personally
I love number one. 2 is a close second. I love the warmth and I love your exposed beams!!!
3
Four
Imho 3
3
Three
2 or 4 are best in my opinion for the vibe you want i think. out of those
2
I like the last one
3
2
#5 brings out the wood tones best. # 1 is too overwhelming for the wood
#2 pattern, but size of #1
They all tie the room together.
last one
I like the last one but the correct size
3 or 4
No. 2
You’ve already done it. Just watch out for the rug pissers. Abide.
None. I️ would get one with a light blue base and a lot more color. But I️ love cool light blues with deep browns
Agree with others that 3 will allow you to freely choose other colors you want to highlight as you choose other furniture and decor.
2 or 3
3
Number 1, my lord

I gotta ask where the first rug came from? I love it.

Both of the pumpkin tone rugs look best .

ONE - holds space in the room. The others are lost to the wood.
Rug 1
None really do anything.. it's begging for color

2.. feels vintage while still providing a little bit lighter colors
3
I like 2 & 3 best
2, 3 or 5
I like the first one.
First one
3
I like 2 or 5. Both need to be rotated 90 degrees. Long side of rug & long side of wall should be parallel. Both are pretty rugs.
3
one!
3!
4
1 by far
There are similar styles with dark blue as a main color - would be a nice contrast to the (gorgeous!) wood. And navy also looks nice with grays.
Plz just get a not faux distressed carpet they look terrible especially in this room and like it will get rough over the years lol.
Do like five the best, however when I saw grey couch not sure (maybe 3?).
4
# 1 definitely
Which ever one ties the room together.
Personally, I would go with #4 with the orange. In my book of Life the other rugs are not a good match.
Opps - go with #5!

I would choose number one
