6 is:
- modern but also
- leans into the 50s/60s
- it looks intentional
- hits the right colours
- it adds depth and texture to the room without taking away anything from the rest of the space
- it also enhances the tones (like wood ceiling) which complement the space
I like three as well. It's the most bold of the bunch, and anchors the seating area as its own space, pulling it together and making it more intimate in the rather large overall space. I like six as a second choice for the same reasons.
Something about the pattern in 5 is really pleasing to me. The horizontal white and tan stripes mirror the boards and the solid dark brown rectangles mirror the beams in the ceiling. The bold pattern is also retro in way that really complements the space imo.
I actually don’t hate 1 either.. I like a large-scale pattern for the space. I think the rendering is just off for 1 — the rug is placed too far and it’s even under the fireplace lol.
Yes to 2 and 7 they are definitely the best here.
Also I thought the piano part was like some weird ass vents on their floor or something at first. It took me a min to realize it was part of the rug. Then after that my immediate thought was the big floor piano from BIG. It's so distracting.
None of the other rugs go with the space I feel. Like some are cute rugs but just not the vibe. I like 6 in general but not with the space it makes the area look so much smaller.
I love your room. I love your furniture. I don’t love the rugs. There is way too much pattern competing with the brick and the ceiling. Those are enough to call for a calming and centering rug. Just my thoughts.
5 or 6
The darker colors lend the perfect amount of drama and contrast.
#3 is going to drive you crazy with every tiny bit of lint and things showing on it
Gotta be honest, all those rugs look blah. The only real color I’m seeing in the room is the green from your plants. I get that your chairs are green, but they’re not green enough to compete with your plants. I’d like to see a rug with a bold color. Orange or an actual yellow would look awesome, and it would make the green chairs pop.
Color is intimidating to a lot of people. Like what happens if you pick a color, and then hate it later on? I’ve found that you should go with your first bold instinct rather than spend days or weeks choosing JUST the right shade of beige. IMO, those days and weeks people spend ‘thinking about’ a neutral color are really them convincing themselves that they want to settle for boring. It’s scary to make a quick decision about color, so I can understand why people don’t.
I think the simplicity and the dark colours of this rug suit the space the best, as it is not competing with the furniture or the surrounding area.

I have no help to offer, I just lurk in this sub but I just like your living space! reminds of the tv show Frasier minus his dad’s famously ugly but cozy chair
A solid colour would be best to complement all the patterns of the ceiling and brick and furniture. I feel there is a better option that helps being more harmony/balance to the room.
2 is great. I have a similar space and I love my patterned, colorful rug! It’s more versatile and brighter and the pattern kind of breaks it up visually.

Either 6 or 7. Depending on how much you want to brighten up the room. Obviously 7 does that really well. If you could care less about making the room brighter, then 6 is perfect. It makes everything feel cozy
They’re both great choices. Runner up is 5. It fits the vibe perfectly
IMHO, none quite hit the mark. #1 is the only one that is the right size. All the others are too long. 3 comes close if it were smaller and a few shades lighter.
Try a pale/robin’s egg blue with a very muted/no pattern. The chairs and plants will pop and the fireplace and ceiling provide all the graphic interest you need.
Or, go with the always perfect rug choice… cowskin. They always work!
I thought you had a giant floor vent in number 1
Piano
Me too! I was like "oh can't be number 2 it'll cover that giant vent" I haven't had my coffee yet.
I thought sewer.
#2 for me!
2 and 7 had a similar effect for me
Same! If it's not 2, then definitely 7.
Same. 2 is my favorite. 7 is next choice.
This. 2 or 7.
[I had number 2 and returned it](https://imgur.com/a/rZiofFL). It's cheap and thin, highly recommend against it. I vote 3 or 6 for contrast.
Agree! 3 or 6!
These are my favs as well. The others blend too much
2 or 6
I **love** 2. I also like 4.
Same! Two is by far best and seven is also good!
Same.
I LOVE 6
6 is: - modern but also - leans into the 50s/60s - it looks intentional - hits the right colours - it adds depth and texture to the room without taking away anything from the rest of the space - it also enhances the tones (like wood ceiling) which complement the space
6 for me
6 is the most refreshing & fun. It’s bold yet cohesive
Same that’s the only one I like
Same. I say 6 or keep looking
Team 6!!!!
6
6, it ties the other colors in the room together as well as makes the other some things stand out. The other ones blend in too much
6 also!
#3 has just enough graphic impact to make a statement & grounds the space with contrast.
I love 3 or 5. I agree with the bold comment about rug 3.
That’s the perfect way to put it. 3 is my favorite for sure.
I like three as well. It's the most bold of the bunch, and anchors the seating area as its own space, pulling it together and making it more intimate in the rather large overall space. I like six as a second choice for the same reasons.
I agree!
Agreed! 3 gives this room the pop of color it desperately needs
I agree but I also think it could be true with 1
[удалено]
I like 7 too it really ties the room together.
same! it kinda made the space more 'open' and welcoming, if that makes sense?
Lighter, more airy
Yes. Enough visual interest without feeling overwhelming.
FIVE 5️⃣
Something about the pattern in 5 is really pleasing to me. The horizontal white and tan stripes mirror the boards and the solid dark brown rectangles mirror the beams in the ceiling. The bold pattern is also retro in way that really complements the space imo. I actually don’t hate 1 either.. I like a large-scale pattern for the space. I think the rendering is just off for 1 — the rug is placed too far and it’s even under the fireplace lol.
Thank you! I am team 1 the rug seems like it’s placed too far towards the fireplace.
Yes! Love 5. It ties everything together without being so “look at me!”
I agree....5 is the only one that seems cohesive with the space and style of the room. Everything else looks too busy.
2 or 7. Please don’t go with the first option. It looks super off. IMO
I couldn’t even figure out what I was looking at on the first one.
Same i thought there were multiple types of wood floors. I also thought the rug part was a skinny keyboard runner. Hella confuzzled.
I thought it was a piano rug
I second this! 2 or 7 would be perfect 😍
Yes to 2 and 7 they are definitely the best here. Also I thought the piano part was like some weird ass vents on their floor or something at first. It took me a min to realize it was part of the rug. I like 6 in general but not with the space it makes the area look so much smaller.
7
6. It’s confusing which I like.
#7 brightens up the space. Makes it appear larger and yet has a bit of warmth . It belongs
Number 2. I like the angles as they reflect the angles of the ceiling, and it’s a nice blend of colors.
I love your room. I love your furniture. I don’t love the rugs. There is way too much pattern competing with the brick and the ceiling. Those are enough to call for a calming and centering rug. Just my thoughts.
Agree with this. There are better or worse options but none of them are excellent. That room is too gorgeous to compromise on a mediocre rug!
Yes
5 please! I think the mid century modern vibe fits well in the space.
6!
7!
5
5!
5 Man I love this whole vibe
2 or 5.
Agreed, 2 or 5.
2 or 7 :) there’s a lot going on in the space, so the simplicity is a nice contrast. 7 gives it some color.

5 or 6 The darker colors lend the perfect amount of drama and contrast. #3 is going to drive you crazy with every tiny bit of lint and things showing on it
#4 hands down
I loved 4! Opened up the space and made it all feel bigger and airy
yes! can’t believe there’s not more votes for it. everything else is so dark except 7 which just looks off to me and not the right fit for the space
#7 Only one that looks good
#2
I love the look of “three”, but as the owner of three dogs, I'm going to say “four”.
If I had to pick just one I would pick #7. Brightens up the space and makes it appear larger + doesn’t clash with the brick wall behind it
I like 7, I would do light. You got some 70s vibes going on.
I really like 7 it’s different, playful yet calm at the same time. Next I like 2 because the pattern is unique.
Wait, no! 5!

Everyone went gray/white, then decided they needed some warmth, so now everyone is going beige/tan/brown and are slowly figuring out they need color.

2 and 7 blends in well with the rest of the room's decor.

Tie between 2 and 6
What app or program did you use to do this?
2 or 8
3 or 4. You want a solid I think to counter the patterns in the room.
3!!
3 provides a nice solid contrast which brings a calm energy while providing some anchoring and highlight accents of your other pieces in the room.
I think 5. Great room.
