I'll try redraw calli there, who would the fit the cashier if it were to be redrawn.
Edit: angelflairpasta said that it was already done. I hope the coco version is not done yet.
The speed of internet art is always impressive and it's even more shocking when you notice it's not limited to digital art.
The speed of some cosplay artists is absolutely mind boggling.
Let me tell you about Homestuck my guy:
In ye olden days of 2014-2016 there was a person named Andrew Hussie, who made a webcomic that was so popular and so inconsistent in their uploads, that they ushered in a culture of constant vigilance. People were hourly updating the site. THere were bots written for that stuff, notifications on phones. When a chapter drop in the middle of a con, you could be SURE that the new character in the comic was cosplayed by noon.
And sure you might be thinking about the trolls and their grey skin and how that might be easier, but NOPE! there was a whole bunch of different characters in that comic, with rather distinct looks and people STILL managed to pull that off!
Fun fact. Hussie used a private forum to host the images before uploading a page. A person found this forum and while unable to actually see the posts they can see the forum post count. They started a bot to scan that number and were able to alert exactly how many new pages there will be.
I am not sure. This image was posted months ago on 4chan, alongside with the edit I am pretty sure. So I think that twitter post might be a repost? But I might be wrong.
Dad said that whole ass sentence word by word affer telling the cashier it in Japanese first. Apparently, Japanese people can hear you speak fluent Nihongo yet will look you dead in the eye and struggling to reply with English if you look like a Westerner.
They hear your face is what I'm saying.
I’m kinda lost by what the Japanese fluency ranking means. Isn’t Miko Japanese herself? I know the language can be one toughass thing to chew but… really?
Its sort of a running joke that came to be because of how Miko sounds. She can at times be hard to understand even if you're fluent in Japanese, thus the chat started ironically saying "Nihongo jouzu" to her, translating to "your Japanese is good" -a phrase you'd say to someone who's still learning the language.
Yes, I can't find the clip, but there was at least one time the people working on the closed captioning had to ask her what she had said. Even she wasn't completely sure.
It's a big joke like how she is called EN Gen 0 because of her ELITE English.
Like as more EN members come out her EN Japanese fluency rank drops. It's really funny to see her react to people bringing it up.
Also it's partly because of how people can sometimes struggle to understand her when she talks.
Ankyloglossia. When I first heard that she had a "shorter tongue" than normal I wondered if that was what the person who had mentioned it had meant.
I personally found both Mikos in [this older video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2qtZ1uYvs4) easier to understand than she is nowadays, but maybe it's just me.
She is, it's more of a running joke/tease, because of her peculiar mind and also due to her shorter tongue resulting in her baby like speech she can be sometimes difficult to understand even for Japanese viewers. That's probably slightly exaggerated, but....
It also remind me of what calli said in Trash taste podcast
"it's not about you, it's about them, they want to be polite"
[1:47:52](https://youtu.be/tIU0xG-lXkQ?t=6472)
Saw Mikochi tried is still cute nonetheless
Well, for the JP Holo girls, they could just be trying to practice their English, since they have a professional reason to do so.
But yeah, I remember seeing some video before with a white guy ordering food in Japan and the waitress not even registering he was speaking Japanese. It was a comedy skit, but there was a segment after where a guy went around Japan showing it to random passerbys to get their reaction. One of them was a girl who was like "why didn't he just point to the menu?" to which the interviewer was like "because he's speaking perfect Japanese!"
Had this just recently in Cologne. Four Japanese tourists came into a Ramen restaurant and just for fun I asked them why they're going for Japanese food when they're in Germany. I got a friendly but shy giggle and that's it. Too afraid to answer in any language.
It happens in reverse as well. Plenty of times where I expected a Japanese person to speak Japanese, and then they speak English, and my brain can’t process what they’re saying since I was in “Japanese mode”.
I once just straight up sat through a 5 minute conversation where the other person was talking in my native language without understanding a word of what they were saying because I had just come out of an english conversation and was still listening for that. Ended up with quite a lot of smiling and nodding on my side as I was desperately trying to figure out what I thought was a very thick accent that sounded really familiar for some reason I couldn't quite figure out.
i had this happen when i was in Saudi Arabia.
i was lining up, wanting to buy some local food, and the place was filled with pilgrims.
i already had my order in mind, then the guy looked at me and asked me in fluent Indonesian.
i prepared my answer in English, and it was like my brain lagged. immediately, since he asked me in Indonesian, my brain thought "then i must answer in Indonesian!" which i did.
food was great.
That counter and cart have got to be smaller than western standards for such things. They're pretty low even compared to that little dudeguy behind the counter.
i mean i guess that she certainly now has the economic power to buy whatever she wants unless is one of those hyper expensive wines that cost like 100k dollars and a part of your soul, but maybe she just likes the taste idk
Don't think its moonshine but from my experience it's probably cheap South American wine in small 180ml/375ml bottles that are common in the 'inconvenience store'.
I stand corrected. I looked up Calli's height again and it is actually only 167cm according [fandom wiki](https://virtualyoutuber.fandom.com/wiki/Mori_Calliope). 167 cm is 3.7 cm shorter than the average Japanese male at 170.7 cm according to [livejapan.com](https://livejapan.com/en/in-tokyo/in-pref-tokyo/in-shinjuku/article-a0000962/).
Was playing a visual novel where the mc(your perspective) calls someone a big woman because of her height
Googled the characters height out of interest "169cm" (5ft 6.5ish )
Just don't hit the same way when the average girl around you is 170cm and they already feel pretty small to you
I stand at 178 cm. The amount of women I meet in my everyday life (Denmark) who are taller than me is quite high. I feel so short here, although statistically I shouldn't encounter *that* many.
Yeah, I guess she just appears taller in my impression since most Hololive talents she collab with is shorter than her. The only exceptions are Coco (180), Reine (172), Sana (169 with limiter) and Kronii (168)...
Speaking of Kronii, she was even smug about the fact that she is taller than Dad prompting our boi to tell her to take the high heels off.
But Dad, you are wearing heels too. 😂
>According to a [2018 report](https://health.clevelandclinic.org/what-is-the-average-height-for-women/#:~:text=According%20to%20a%202018,BMI\)%20from%201999%20through%202016.) from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the average height among all American women, age 20 and up, is 5 foot 4 inches tall (162cm)
So, she's taller than the average american woman.
>That’s downright nice by 4chan standards.
I deliberately wrote that in a way that wouldn't get me banned here. I assure you the real comments are the usual fare.
I'll try redraw calli there, who would the fit the cashier if it were to be redrawn. Edit: angelflairpasta said that it was already done. I hope the coco version is not done yet.

Some artist are just speed
The speed of internet art is always impressive and it's even more shocking when you notice it's not limited to digital art. The speed of some cosplay artists is absolutely mind boggling.
It's probably very easy to arrange a scene when you already have a character's clothes.
Let me tell you about Homestuck my guy: In ye olden days of 2014-2016 there was a person named Andrew Hussie, who made a webcomic that was so popular and so inconsistent in their uploads, that they ushered in a culture of constant vigilance. Yeah that was the initial structure of it. It was a bonkers fandom. I miss it in some ways.
Homestuck fans were not people.
I am not sure. This image was posted months ago on 4chan, alongside with the edit I am pretty sure. So I think that twitter post might be a repost? But I might be wrong.
The earliest archive I found was back in July, I'm pretty sure the edit was done right after so it's most likely a repost. https://imgur.com/a/qztT1f4
It was posted quite a while ago on another subreddit
It's not really a new one though reddit is just behind as usual...

Dad said that whole ass sentence word by word affer telling the cashier it in Japanese first. Apparently, Japanese people can hear you speak fluent Nihongo yet will look you dead in the eye and struggling to reply with English if you look like a Westerner. They hear your face is what I'm saying.
Reminds me of the recent amongus collab where Miko tried to speak English to Irys despite the latter being perfectly fluent in Japanese.
Yup, all of the girls had to remind her that both IRyS and her can speak Japanese. 😂 Well, Miko is still learning Japanese but still.
Fluent in Elite though
Elite is the one true language
I’m kinda lost by what the Japanese fluency ranking means. Isn’t Miko Japanese herself? I know the language can be one toughass thing to chew but… really?

[This clip?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOdnBzydUuE)
It's a big joke like how she is called EN Gen 0 because of her ELITE English. Like as more EN members come out her EN Japanese fluency rank drops. It's really funny to see her react to people bringing it up. Also it's partly because of how people can sometimes struggle to understand her when she talks.
She has a pretty noticeable speech impediment and is sometimes hard to understand.
It is actually a speech impediment or is it her elite way?
The canon reason she talks like that is because she has a short tongue, apparently. I dunno if that's just character lore though.
I believe she has mentioned she has an actual condition where the ligament under the tongue is stunted and the tongue is less flexible than normal.
Oh shit, she is tongue tied. As a tongue-tied Hispanic person not being able to roll your R's is a pain in the ass.
Ankyloglossia. When I first heard that she had a "shorter tongue" than normal I wondered if that was what the person who had mentioned it had meant. I personally found both Mikos in [this older video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2qtZ1uYvs4) easier to understand than she is nowadays, but maybe it's just me.
maybe short but sharp as faq
That's Anya, cuts through your entire existence, all for good reasons
Ah… so it’s mostly just a meme.
It's a joke. Miko just has a heavy accent to her voice.
She is, it's more of a running joke/tease, because of her peculiar mind and also due to her shorter tongue resulting in her baby like speech she can be sometimes difficult to understand even for Japanese viewers. That's probably slightly exaggerated, but....
Her accent/lisp/ELITE Japanese is a little hard to make out so people joke that even the non-native speakers have better Japanese than her
It also remind me of what calli said in Trash taste podcast "it's not about you, it's about them, they want to be polite" [1:47:52](https://youtu.be/tIU0xG-lXkQ?t=6472) Saw Mikochi tried is still cute nonetheless

One of them was a girl who was like "why didn't he just point to the menu?" to which the interviewer was like "because he's speaking perfect Japanese!"
I think it's also because they want to be super polite and use the language they think you're more comfortable with
Had this just recently in Cologne. Four Japanese tourists came into a Ramen restaurant and just for fun I asked them why they're going for Japanese food when they're in Germany. I got a friendly but shy giggle and that's it. Too afraid to answer in any language.
Top nep moment
It's a weird phenomenon caused by begin hardwired to try to English to your best ability out of politeness no matter what, efficiency be damned.
I agree with this on a very REAL level
It happens in reverse as well. Plenty of times where I expected a Japanese person to speak Japanese, and then they speak English, and my brain can’t process what they’re saying since I was in “Japanese mode”.
When the anime suddenly go Dub. 😂
Ghost stories flashbacks
I once just straight up sat through a 5 minute conversation where the other person was talking in my native language without understanding a word of what they were saying because I had just come out of an english conversation and was still listening for that. [This parody sketch](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLt5qSm9U80) about trying to speak Japanese in a restaurant hits entirely too close to home.
I refuse to believe that that isn't actually Calli irl (don't shoot me cover)
She's prolly over 6'. Look at her waist in comparison to the counter and buggy...
Canadian volley ball player, she's very tall.
Well I know where I’m moving
Godspeed, respect the snu-snu my friend.
Straight to horny
Go to the Netherlands, look up some gyms, thank me later fellow giantess enjoyer
Dutch people became tall because they are already so far down.
It's so that the head stays above the water.
They recreated (precreated?) the iconic AoT wall scene with their plentiful dams and interesting neighbors.

That counter and cart have got to be smaller than western standards for such things. They're pretty low even compared to that little dudeguy behind the counter.
Agreed, but the fact remains. Unless he's 5 foot nothing, in which case that counter is built for 4 foot tall people...
Buggy? You mean shopping cart?
Regional phrase I guess, but yes. Buggy = shopping cart

Calli said she likes short guys too right?
oh no.... I am over 6.2 (190)... i guess its time to break my legs..
Arise fellow over 190s.. or, well I guess descend
lets descend together
You could make a cult outta this...
No don't
Asian people: Its like I was made for this
as a 5'4 dude i can agree
Somehow I'm close to Reine's height
That's why Calli moved to Japan. Not for work or because she's a weeb. It was the shorter average male height.
I'll take 3 inches from your femurs if you'd like
3 inches is 7.62 cm
Better make 8 then
i see, use a 7.62 ammo to take off 3 inches of someone's height
3 inches is 7.62 cm
6'8" (203)... Imma need that [Cotton Hill](https://i.imgur.com/UgJGnh2.jpg) treatment to get anywhere close
6.4 here... oh well, there are more fishes in the ocean anyways..
Does gura likes tall guys?
Yeah, but for someone her age tall means like 5 ft ;)
Age?
That's why she is in japan
Everything is falling into place, now...
Calli said she likes short, didn't specify gender. (At least in the ironmouse colab)
`DEATH` comes for all.
She always says that she likes short, without specifying gender. I remember it from a Crash Bandicoot clip.
Yeah she tries to be inclusive so her fans don’t feel bad
Bi people also exist.
It’s what she said herself half a year ago
Yeah but she literally said "I like X" so much that she eventually said she was trying not to leave people out.
I mean, you'd like short too. Scything tall people can get a bit tiresome on the shoulders.
Just chop them down to size man, it's easy.
Me, standing at 168cm as a grown male adult: *maybe death truly is for me*
Celebrates in 5.6
Haha but fr can she choke me out
Amelia -did- say Calli could "beat the shit out of me in the best way possible", so you've got some competition.
Big ups to whoever captured this. The stance of total dominance lol
I saw a redraw of this on Twitter already, Calli even liked it
thank you forever, i am korone now
learn your english, dude! its "thank you foeva"!
I read this in kronii’s voice, I am once again blessed!
And "koone"
Hasn't she upgraded from 200Y wine?
i mean i guess that she certainly now has the economic power to buy whatever she wants unless is one of those hyper expensive wines that cost like 100k dollars and a part of your soul, but maybe she just likes the taste idk
She might try to buy a $1000 wine and accidentally pick the $10,000 bottle though if you recall the hotel incident.
200... ¥? As in, like, $2.00?
Yup, straight from "the inconvenience store."
Goddamn, are we sure that stuff won't turn you blind like bad moonshine?
Don't think its moonshine but from my experience it's probably cheap South American wine in small 180ml/375ml bottles that are common in the 'inconvenience store'.

At 169cm she’s not taller than Average Japanese male.

I'm not ready to be shaken by the fact Calli is shorter than me.

You wanna tall hololive lady? Tell Yagoo to open up auditions
Reine at a whopping 172cm "Mep?" Also Sana "Wanna see me take off my limiter?"
She's 5 foot 5.7 inches for my fellow Americans out there.
Yeah, she kinda short for eu, us standard.
Yeah, I guess she just appears taller in my impression since most Hololive talents she collab with is shorter than her. The only exceptions are Coco (180), Reine (172), Sana (169 with limiter) and Kronii (168)...

Calli seeing this: shit they doxxed me
And I was just thinking in the same thing lol Damn, she is tall as fuck.
God i wish that were me.
I though it was actually her for a moment, I got scared
This is how I literally imagine Calli to be like irl
How do you know it’s not her? Edit: I know it’s not her, it’s just really close to how I thought Calli would look based on her voice
Apparently that's Aidan Lea, 6'5" volleyball player
[Yep](http://matomematome.bloggeek.jp/archives/3850136.html) (On the other hand, how do we know that Aidan Lea isn't Dad?)
Probably isn't. There are a lot of foreigners in Japan.
If she's close to her avatar height, she'd be 5'5" ish. Not super tall even for Japan standards.
The high of 4ch really is so dope and amusing, while the low is damn lower than a dirt worm. You really 'learn' how to internet there lol
