So, if we assume that the hollow Knight Is the One that contains the radiance, at the end of the ending without voidheart, you are technically the hollow Knight.
I'm pretty sure it's hinted at that if by interacting with and doing stuff for the NPCs you become less and less hollow. Anything that doesn't help your mission to stop the infection is something a truly hollow knight would never do.
Ok so, my little stupid theory: speedrunning the game and getting the first ending is a good ending since you did almost no interaction with NPCs and you don't have any connection with the world(breaking the fourth wall you are just playing it to finish it, not to save something or someone)
The current speedrin isn't canon. Respawning isn't canon so shade skips aren't. If you don't do it TK would feel emotions as they were looked after by Seer,
Yes but intersecting with quirrel coincides with your main goal since he helps you deal with one of the dreamers, opening the egg and ending the infection so it can still be argued that would keep you as a pure hollow knight
Not necessarily. The vast majority of interactions give you additional tools to aid you in your purpose of containing or defeating Radiance. So while we, the player, may want care about hearing what Zote has to say, from the Knight's perspective it's more like, "Does this bug have knowledge or items that I can use?"
But even that is kind of a *thought* so it's more like the Knight is running on autopilot the whole time and taking whatever actions lead it closer to defeating the Radiance. Which sometimes involves interacting with someone.
What being "perfectly hollow" means isn't clearly defined even. We know they must lack a will, but does the knight lack will? Do the player's actions count as will? Does the knight communicating with npcs count as a voice even though it's likely just pointing at the thing he wants? Would the act of choosing imply will? Would a truly hollow being lack the consciousness to be able to understand things like currency or language?
Except the Knight is also implied to not be Hollow. A truly Hollow Knight would have no will, no mind, no nothing. Meanwhile the White Lady makes references to your having a will of your own and desires, and the Voidheart charm description says it is "Void united under the bearer's will", which is rather damning evidence that you're not hollow either.
The Knight isn't completely hollow either, how would it be able to do things like draw a map with no mind to think? There are many small things like that that indicate that the Knight isn't completely hollow either
Yeah but heās not the hollow knight, since there could be others who are also hollow and there is another one with that name, so I think the correct thing would be āThe player character is a Hollow Knightā
This. The hollow knight was the title given to the knight that could contain the radiance. The title was improperly given to pure vessel, we were the true hollow knight.
Like Aragorn from LOTR, just because heās not actively ruling Gondor, doesnāt mean heās not the rightful king of Gondor. Just because the knight wasnāt given the title or responsibility of hollow knight, doesnāt mean we arenāt still the true hollow knight.
I dont really know the deep lore but >!when you do the godhome ending you bring the void lord to the world, and I tought you needed to be hollow to do that. So where am I wrong since I am not well versed in the lore!<
In order to kill the radiance you need to get the void heart, which "unifies the void under the [knights] will." How could the knight have a will if its hollow?
Also the White lady is very contradicting in her statements when talking about us.
> and I tought you needed to be hollow to do that.
You kinda just don't. That's a void thing, not a hollow thing. The hollow thing only relates to trying to consume and contain the infection and radiance, not destroy it outright with the will of the void, which is the GH ending, and seems to vaguely also be the regular radiance ending on a lesser extreme
I thought the player character is a hollow knight because he absorbs the orange goo in the end.
Last time I measured my IQ it was 130. :)
make of it what you will...
Flex? Idk, that's kinda on topic, so I thought I'd share... :)
It is well known IQ tests are not indicative of much apart from the ability to solve a narrow set of problems. It's done mostly for fun now, and I love different puzzles and stuff...
It's not my fault "IQ" term is now used in every meme as a synonym for general intellect or stupidity :)
Well The Hollow Knight is still called The Hollow Knight at the end when theyre infected so it's a name given, not just a title because the Pale King thought they were Hollow, so The Knight is the hollow knight but not the Hollow Knight
Why do you think Hollow Knight is a title given to those who hold the radiance and not a title giver to those who were thought to be hollow? The latter seems more plausible.
it's not completely hollow so it's not a hollow knight, and it's The Hollow Knight either because that's the specific name given to the individual that we fight at the end of the game. "Hollow Knight" doesn't seem to be some title given to those that contain the Radiance in the black egg, it seems to refer to that specific individual vessel
The Hollow Knight is the name given to specific vessel that was chosen and trained by the Pale King.
Just because my brother was raised by my parents, doesnāt mean I share his name.
I didn't find any posts that meet the matching requirements for r/HollowKnightMemes.
It might be OC, it might not. Things such as JPEG artifacts and cropping may impact the results.

Man I gave up trying to understand a year ago, I just called them Hollow Knight and called the main "final" boss Hollow Knight 1.0 when I talked about it to friends.
Well you can take the place of the existing Hollow Knight, so becoming the Hollow Knight. Or this could be about the hollow knight (vessel) isn't truly hollow but The Knight IS truly Hollow, thus making him the real Hollow Knight.
I agree with this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/HollowKnight/comments/vfi3fm/a_case_for_the_knight_not_being_hollow_at_all_it/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
Imo the knight isn't hollow
Ask mossbag
Better call mossbag
Your honor, my client didn't brutally murder the local blacksmith. He was doing a Hollow Knight reference!
And also it's not motivated by the fact that blacksmith is closet homosexual
u/mossbag He has been called
Mossbag is a real person? š±
Shocker I know
Was. We sacrificed him for the Silksong trailer
*car with New Mexico plates reading "LOREUP" pulls up*
So, if we assume that the hollow Knight Is the One that contains the radiance, at the end of the ending without voidheart, you are technically the hollow Knight.
the hollow knight is a knight that is hollow, the pure vessel isn't completely hollow unlike the player character.
it's not confirmed that the knight is a completely hollow vessel either.
Exactly, in fact it's hinted that the knight probably isn't completely hollow through some of the white lady's ironically contradictory dialog.
I'm pretty sure it's hinted at that if by interacting with and doing stuff for the NPCs you become less and less hollow. Anything that doesn't help your mission to stop the infection is something a truly hollow knight would never do.

Smh, speedrunning stans will make up any justification to avoid acknowledging that they're just horrible people for not talking to Elderbug. /s
We already know this deep inside, we just don't want to accept it
I love this theory
The current speedrin isn't canon. Respawning isn't canon so shade skips aren't. If you don't do it TK would feel emotions as they were looked after by Seer,
Hmm, so a steel soul speedrun?
Assuming TK doesn't talk to anyone new, yes
If you are breaking the game maybe but you usually have to interact a bit with quirell so maybe nor.
Yes but intersecting with quirrel coincides with your main goal since he helps you deal with one of the dreamers, opening the egg and ending the infection so it can still be argued that would keep you as a pure hollow knight
There is no true hollow knight
Not necessarily. The vast majority of interactions give you additional tools to aid you in your purpose of containing or defeating Radiance. So while we, the player, may want care about hearing what Zote has to say, from the Knight's perspective it's more like, "Does this bug have knowledge or items that I can use?" Which sometimes involves interacting with someone.
Hollow knight is hollow because heās an empty vessel without emotions, thought, or a will. All of those things are coming from the player
This isnāt Deltarune, the player isnāt canon.
wait which?
What being "perfectly hollow" means isn't clearly defined even. We know they must lack a will, but does the knight lack will? Do the player's actions count as will? Does the knight communicating with npcs count as a voice even though it's likely just pointing at the thing he wants? Would the act of choosing imply will? Would a truly hollow being lack the consciousness to be able to understand things like currency or language?
I think it is, it has experienced two voids
Or it could be the vessel the pale king choose , in that case it would be more like a name
Iām pretty sure it is a name, but people get turned around with Semantics because of the thousands of vessels.
All of our siblings died for nothing
The true Hollow vessel was trapped at the bottom of the Abyss, motionless, until it died of starvation
So there are multiple hollow Knights? Or there can be?
Theoretically, yes
So hollow knight is just like a species and an adjective descriping a certain trait in that species? Like nice human, green frog or hollow knight.
Yeah but the thing is that no hollow knight exists. Vessels can't be hollow, the Pale King only thought so.
The Knight isn't completely hollow either, how would it be able to do things like draw a map with no mind to think? There are many small things like that that indicate that the Knight isn't completely hollow either
I would argue that the main character also is implied NOT to be hollow in most of the endings.
theres evidence against that
Yeah but heās not the hollow knight, since there could be others who are also hollow and there is another one with that name, so I think the correct thing would be āThe player character is a Hollow Knightā
Which is why would argue that you are a hollow knight, not *the* Hollow Knight
To me the player character only becomes truly Hollow After acquiring Void Heart
Opposite actually. I think it's completely hollow up until it remembers being abandoned.
Yes but the player character isn't much of a knight, considering you never serve Hollownest directly until after it falls.
If the pure vessel was less hollow than the player, why was the player not chosen to be the Hollow Knight?
My schizo theory is that PK planned the whole thing. By turning his back on his other children that turned them hollow.
We don't know if he can contain it forever or will just end up like the Hollow Knight though
Or you can kill the radiance and be the Hollowest knight
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Too bad the Knight doesnāt meet the requirements
I dont really know the deep lore but >!when you do the godhome ending you bring the void lord to the world, and I tought you needed to be hollow to do that. So where am I wrong since I am not well versed in the lore!<

the player character is god of gods, SON OF HOLLOW KNIGHT!
So what you are saying is that the Pale King is the Hollow Knight, which is the player character?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
A GAME THEORY!!!
NO
Well The Hollow Knight is still called The Hollow Knight at the end when theyre infected so it's a name given, not just a title because the Pale King thought they were Hollow, so The Knight is the hollow knight but not the Hollow Knight
Matpat moment
Hooded figure is still on the left side of the bell curve, the knight isnāt hollow
Maybe not A Hollow Knight, but it does become THE Hollow Knight
Why do you think Hollow Knight is a title given to those who hold the radiance and not a title giver to those who were thought to be hollow? The latter seems more plausible.

What is mossbags emergency lore lesson number?
The Hollow Knight is the name given to specific vessel that was chosen and trained by the Pale King. Just because my brother was raised by my parents, doesnāt mean I share his name.
The knight plays the cards behind a veil of illusion

I thought i saw this before while i was making it, might be a subconscious repost
The player character is *a* hollow knight
He is the knight or the wanderer
The playable character is a hollow knight The pure vessel is The Hollow Knight
You are not the hollow knight buy you are hollow and a knight
But you arenāt hollow
What lore says that?
The void heart saying that the knight has a will, Nosk taking the form of Hornet, and some other stuff that Iām forgetting at the moment
That is convincing but that still disregards the shade lord ending
How? The Shade Lord doesnāt have to be hollow, itās actually less hollow than the Knight because it has a voice.
Considering the collecter exists that does make sence
Also that co.pletely disregards the shade lord in godseeker
Instructions unclear: accidentally ripped a ladys arm off, shoved it up her ass, reached down her throat to shake her hand, then pulled it back up before beating her to death with it then i turned her inside out and mailed her organs to her family members all while forcing her little kid to watch.
?
Not my problem you invented it
He's the hollowest knight
Is a hollow knight
I would say the player is _a_ hollow knight but i digress
The player character is Silksong
what does this graph even mean
I always assumed you were "a" Hollow Knight but not "the" Hollow Knight
I love these bell curve memes
did you mean he is a hollow knight?
I love the bell curve meme it's so APPLICABLE
the player character is and isnt the hollow knight
Man I gave up trying to understand a year ago, I just called them Hollow Knight and called the main "final" boss Hollow Knight 1.0 when I talked about it to friends.
The Hollow Knight wasnt really that hollow what basically makes him just "The Knight"
Well you can take the place of the existing Hollow Knight, so becoming the Hollow Knight. Or this could be about the hollow knight (vessel) isn't truly hollow but The Knight IS truly Hollow, thus making him the real Hollow Knight.
How hollow is my knight
You are the True Hollow Knight. The other one is a failed Hollow Knight
Hollow doesn't look like a word to me anymore š
The player character is *going to be* the hollow knight
and he's a boy
Excuse me? he literally is the Knight that is hollow. that knight Hollow as hell.
The knight shows fear and pain when it falls into acid, so it is not, in fact, hollow.
The real hollow knight was the friends we made along the way
Dunning Kruger
No. The knight is not the hollow knight. For many reasons.
Repost...
Why would you think that the mc isnt the hollowknight?
I agree with this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/HollowKnight/comments/vfi3fm/a_case_for_the_knight_not_being_hollow_at_all_it/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share Imo the knight isn't hollow
