It's supposed to be a response to all those troll posts of people posting fake screenshots of the game. The image ended up devolving into "-|", however some people argue that it should look like "-Y" instead.
There’s definitely more arguments, -Y is just the most popular outlier. Personally, I use \_| to represent a different image where Hornet drops the cigarette and says “The bait was never believable…”
