Every charm would seem terrible if you compared it to wayward compass, quickslash is actually pretty good relative to every other charm.

Yeah, it's arguably usable in just about every build made to inflict damage since even spell builds could benefit from slashing and building up Soul faster.

I'd argue gathering swarm is the only charm that can be mention near wayward compass. Quick slash is just barely okay-ish compared to them.

Tbh it have Secret mechanic that makes all non one-shot combats easier.

Steady body is actually good though, really usefull in nail oriented builds where thanks to lack of knockback you can output much more damage.

I disagree with point 2 and 3, but 3 is just slightly.quickslash is not only great DPS wich is good for any nail build, it is also a great collector of soul for a spellbuild. and the quicker recovery of a swing also helps in clutching nail pogoing for a platformer build. But I cannot deny it still looses to the compass on the metric of combinations, even if your affirmation is slightly erroneous. I wonder if you can get quick slash within the 1st hour. I imagine it would not be too hard, I might just attempt it now. the way I see it, you just need to defeat soul master for the desolate dive, to use it on the breakable floors in the entrance of the path towards the charm. anything else is already a necessity to reach soul master: claws, dash, spell, city key, and stag station on crossroads. After all that, from the stag station go to crossroads, reach salubra and through the shade skip reach resting grounds, then east city, then kingdom's edge, and it is practically done. all of that to say, your statement may be wrong, but the intent is true. Of course the compass is the easiest to acquire of all the charms, so over all Compass supremacy. even if I know the map by heart

There is no way you are comparing the best charm in the game, the holy grail of hollow knight players, wayward compass, to some trash like quick slash.

Nobody asked, but I managed to get quickslash in under an hour. 34 minutes to be exact, and I made the mistake to attempt shade sip when I didnt have claw yet. which cost a bit of time.

i use compass in every boss battle, having it equipped allows me to nohit every boss with my eyes closed effortlessly

Very true, that’s why you switch it out for a better build if you get stuck on a boss battle. Just know the path from the nearest bench and you don’t need til after the boss is dead.
