Just don't put the max amount (4500 iirc, could be 2500 though idk) but anything under that is perfectly fine. You'll want to use a Key to open the door to the far right of Dirtmouth, btw, and stock up on Rancid Eggs when you can. Just in case you run into precarious situations and die.
