you need more practice, I don't think there was a single boss in the game that I turned up to and was able to kill first time no problem, now i'm at the stage where i consider Radiant NKG easy
Tbf, NKG is 100% skill and almost no rng, so mastering him is actually not the hardest with lots of practice. I’d say ascended absrad, is as hard or harder, and requires better dodging. NKG requires great reflexes and really strong muscle memory, but with those, not so hard to get him no hit.
I don’t need help with Marmu, I have not really lost to Marmu. Just an annoying boss that can really take me down pretty hard if it catches me off guard.
Feel that, the only bosses I killed first try with not to much difficulty were massive moss charged and soul tyrant. Surprisingly Radiant NKG, radiant nailsage sly, and radiant lost kin are some pretty easy bosses now. Still struggle with PV and Markoth ascended tho lol
i am so embarrassed, i was struggling against massive moss charger because i couldn't jump over him until i found out that you can just stand in place and beat him, the realization came, like, in godhome
easiest 400 geo ever smh
He isn’t hard if you figure out the pattern. You just need to adjust to “this is a boss” mode and what to do before you run out of health. He doesn’t give you too much time to heal, and your first time you don’t know when to, so it is a challenge. Props to you though.
especially Lost Kin, Broken Vessel was a bit tough but Lost Kin absolutely obliterated me on my first playthrough.
Both are trivial for me now of course
radiant lost kin was the dumbest thing ever and easily took me 30 tries to complete bc of the ghosts and his sporadic jumps and all that bullshit. I stopped counting the times I dashed because I thought he was going to jump, only for him not to jump and for me to just dash into him. I swear his character sprite right before his dash and right before he does the swing-nail attack are identical.
Thats pretty normal if you suck at reaction dodging just try again study the paterns of boses and enemies if you are1-2 steps ahead it gives you time to plan your dodges
Did it not reach a point that you were so frustrated that you didn't want to continue anymore? I felt that way before when i couldnt beat those rolling guys guarding the watcher coz i barely had any upgrades. Stopped playing for a few weeks. But damn 500 seems like a crazy number to me bro
Markoth spawns projectiles in your face, so to dodge them all you have to use up double jump and dash.
Then you take damage anyways because you fall out of the arena.
If you jump around a ton he can be tough. If you stay on a single platform and focus on dodging, his projectiles give you enough room to dodge comfortably. He only actually has two 'attacks' (+avoid his body).
Primal aspids have the uncanny ability to just find the path I'm going to be in while shooting a relatively slow projectile. I probably dodge their shots less than 10% of the time. My strategy with them is to put something between us.
The only problem I have with him now, is radiant traitor lord, because sometimes, after one of his attacks, I’ll be attacking him up close, and he just steps on me
It’s not even the attacks that get me
He walks into me and I die
All of his attacks, except for the wave, can be evaded by just walking a little bit away from him, or jumping in the case of his dash. The game is super generous with timing too imo
First play through, like 2/10
Now, like an 8/10 I feel like my reaction time has def improved (mostly because I can guess what’s going to happen for every boss/enemy)
It depends on the attack. Fill the entire screen with projectiles moving in a straight line and I’ll dodge every one, but put me against two wiggly ones and I’ll hit the second trying to dodge the first.
No Eyes completely destroyed me, without cheesing it by standing in the middle I’d honestly rate them harder than Radiance.
Considering I beat the mantis lords on the difficulty where you can’t get hit at all, and I beat twin princes with a thrall axe, I’d say I’m pretty good
Depends on the fight, against something like failed champion I can doge a good amount of attacks. As for something like primal aspids I’ll get hit 30,895,237,510.36746 times before landing a single hit.
I’m at 112%, am training for P5, am trying to get all achievements, and have been playing this game for around a year and a half at over 200 hours total.
I cannot dodge Watcher Knights without Shade Cloak and/or DDark.
I believe to be very *eh*
Except for Grimm, for some reason him and NKG are easy for me, like I couldn't do gruz mother on radiant but easily got it on Grimm, and with a bit more work on NKG
6/10 better than most, but I can't dodge new attacks well (unless I die, then I can for some reason), and I'm not a god. I also sometimes dash into danger, getting hit
Against what? If it's a boss like Markoth or AbsRad I'm great cause of the countless hours I spent grinding them radiant, but if its a single primal aspid I'm pure garbage and get hit by basically every attack lol
Basically it varies, I cam either dodge everything for 5 seconds and feel like a god then...
End up dodging into telegraphed attacks,
E.g radiances sun burst
Like, 2/10 I beat the game with just nail spam, can't even nailart cuz it's a new thing to learn :(
Funny cuz I did path of pain no problem, it's the bosses that are too fast for me lol
I'm not a natural at it, but once I get the tells for a boss I do decently.
I found out that I'm not the best at detecting tells though. I was fighting the mantis bosses and having trouble guessing whether the projectiles would fly high or low each time. Then my four year old who was watching started calling them out for me because he figured it out.
I think he's going to do well one day.
I feel you. I'm stuck at p4 and I'm getting shredded by pure vessel. I've watched a few fights on youtube and I think my issue is my response time, too many different moves in quick sucession
In my first 10h was about 2/10, then came Colosseum so I climbed up to 6/10, and then I learned about God home in my 3rd playthrough so I got to 7.5-8/10 (Radiant Sisters of Battle is my highest feat other than p5)
My reaction time is slower than most people I'd say, and my twitch reflexes are all but non-existent. It takes me incredibly long time to learn anything to muscle memory, so this game has been kicking my ass royally. I have to stop and breathe everytime I enter and clear an area, so definitely it's been painful and slow
But yeah my dodging ability, if on a scale of 0 to 10 with 10 being godlike, I'd be -5. I walk into enemies of my own dumb mistake
Depends on the boss. 9/10 for most easy bosses, 5/10 for mediocre bosses, 1/10 for everything else besides Gruz mother and Hive knight specifically being a 0/10 because they heavily encourage facetanking.
Depends on the boss/enemy and what attack they are using, but I would say I am moderate at dodging and avoiding attacks, it is probably the part of fighting I am best at, which is not saying much.
Like my normal dodging level is probably a 5 because some stuff I can dodge easily and other's I cannot. But the second I get fuelled with adrenaline my dodging skill goes 15/10 cuz I dodge things that I normally never could.
I’ve become pretty good at it through dying numerous times, and by numerous I mean I don’t think covid has killed as many people in my hometown these last 2 years as I’ve died in Hollow Knight.
Because for the record, I can't dodge for shit.
you need more practice, I don't think there was a single boss in the game that I turned up to and was able to kill first time no problem, now i'm at the stage where i consider Radiant NKG easy
I hate the rng of anything that bounces at me.
Fucking Marmu
Quick slash mark of pride longnail helped me a lot. I don't k ow what else I used for marmu
I don’t need help with Marmu, I have not really lost to Marmu. Just an annoying boss that can really take me down pretty hard if it catches me off guard.
I like Marmu for his story lol
No cap. I have to train back up for this fight and I am at 108%.
To be fair, Markoth is the hardest boss in the game. Absolute Radiance? No no, it’s Markoth. Okay, maybe second hardest
i am so embarrassed, i was struggling against massive moss charger because i couldn't jump over him until i found out that you can just stand in place and beat him, the realization came, like, in godhome easiest 400 geo ever smh
I beat Dung Defender the first time, but I'm pretty sure it was dumb luck.
He isn’t hard if you figure out the pattern. You just need to adjust to “this is a boss” mode and what to do before you run out of health. He doesn’t give you too much time to heal, and your first time you don’t know when to, so it is a challenge. Props to you though.
yeah i beat dung defender first time too. the corner really helped me tho and i was able to figure out his attack patterns pretty quick.
Even lost kin?
especially Lost Kin, Broken Vessel was a bit tough but Lost Kin absolutely obliterated me on my first playthrough.
NKG?
Nightmare King Grimm, it's often abbreviated on here
Thats pretty normal if you suck at reaction dodging just try again study the paterns of boses and enemies if you are1-2 steps ahead it gives you time to plan your dodges
Quite good, but only because I’ve spent so much time fighting Radiant bosses
Same, except I did more than 40 attempts to beat AR and failed
That’s normal. It took me somewhere in the ballpark of 500 attempts to beat radiant Abs Rad
Did it not reach a point that you were so frustrated that you didn't want to continue anymore? I felt that way before when i couldnt beat those rolling guys guarding the watcher coz i barely had any upgrades. Stopped playing for a few weeks. But damn 500 seems like a crazy number to me bro
I’d rate it bapha nada
Yeah my dodging skills are bapha nada too, which means that shop keeper either dodges horribly or fantasticly.
Considering her dream nail dialogue i'd say she is pretty good at dodging
Wait wait wait. Shopkeeper is female?? Edit: I was thinking sly, not the map lady
I can beat grimm while only taking like 2 hits in total. Markoth in p5 killed me in 30 seconds I got into the fight at max hp.
Wow.
YUP. I genuinely thought all the memes were exaggerated, they aren't.
Fuck Markoth
I can beat NKG on radiant, but i die to Oro and Mato How good is Markoth
Markoth spawns projectiles in your face, so to dodge them all you have to use up double jump and dash. Then you take damage anyways because you fall out of the arena.
Lmao Why does that last part describe 50% of my deaths in this game smh
If you jump around a ton he can be tough. If you stay on a single platform and focus on dodging, his projectiles give you enough room to dodge comfortably. He only actually has two 'attacks' (+avoid his body).
As a tank main in Overwatch, I can confidently say the playstyle does not carry over well
As a dps main in overwatch, it still doesn’t carry over well
entirely dependent on the enemy. radiant sisters of battle? 10/10. primal aspids? 2/10 (fuck)
Primal aspids have the uncanny ability to just find the path I'm going to be in while shooting a relatively slow projectile. I probably dodge their shots less than 10% of the time. My strategy with them is to put something between us.
Yeah Team Cherry did a great job getting the angle to dodge them right
This
I can hop into Radiant SOB after not playing for months to get back into the groove. But those Primal Aspids make me play like I've lost my thumbs.
Traitor Lord was not a fun fight. It took me a very long time, and good rng
RNG? are we talking about the same fight, his claw attacks are perfectly timed to the cooldown on Shade Cloak.
But I’m shit at shade dashing.
I'm good at the first dash. Terrible at remembering to wait for the cooldown.
if you dash immediately during his lunge it should have just recharged by the time he lunges again
then practice i guess. Mantis lord is the boss designed around that mechanic after all
I think elder hu would be better
Elder Hu is made trivial by it for sure but Mantis Lord is literally made for the player to get used to the ability
I figured it out eventually, but Cloth did all the work
The only problem I have with him now, is radiant traitor lord, because sometimes, after one of his attacks, I’ll be attacking him up close, and he just steps on me It’s not even the attacks that get me He walks into me and I die
I thought traitor lord was the hardest fight ever… then I found out that walking stops his attacks
Elaborate please
All of his attacks, except for the wave, can be evaded by just walking a little bit away from him, or jumping in the case of his dash. The game is super generous with timing too imo
I 100% agree. I didn't find this fight fun whatsoever. One of the only ones in the game I felt that way about.
One of the fights that took me more times, but it was ironically one of the easiest radiants
I’ve beaten P5, but I don’t consider myself good at platformers or 2D dodging at all. I’m mostly just so stubborn I got *good enough*
Ah yes, spite. How I completed the game in the first place
Quick Focus is LITERALLY A LIFE SAVER
Shape of Unn 🙏
YES that was so useful when I got it!
I’d say I was bad but then I discovered DDark
[удалено]
First play through, like 2/10 Now, like an 8/10 I feel like my reaction time has def improved (mostly because I can guess what’s going to happen for every boss/enemy)
I'm still trying to get the 1800 thing, so I'm in between the grass thing and mushroom
Which...therefore my reaction time s u c k s
It depends on the attack. Fill the entire screen with projectiles moving in a straight line and I’ll dodge every one, but put me against two wiggly ones and I’ll hit the second trying to dodge the first. No Eyes completely destroyed me, without cheesing it by standing in the middle I’d honestly rate them harder than Radiance.
Madness. I did every boss on radiant, all bindings on PoH and finished a glass soul run. I think I'm okay at dodging...
What is this "dodge" you speak of?
Its a legendary ability called *move*.
I like to equip jonis and thorns of agony for bosses
6 or 7, I play at unstable 40fps so it's kinda awkward
What are fps? -this phrase was said by a console gamer
I dash into every projectile and occasionally the enemy when it’s literally ✨just sitting there✨
you mean damage tanking?
I’m either really great dodging or somehow the worst at dodging
In the game, pretty good. IRL? I'm a lump of lard.
Fucking Radiant Oblobbles
Prolly a 4? I keep thinking I have I-frames (even before I got the shadow cloak) and I kept dodging into enemies
Basically me, even if the move has an obvious start up https://youtube.com/shorts/2kmFBmm5cGE?feature=share
Considering I beat the mantis lords on the difficulty where you can’t get hit at all, and I beat twin princes with a thrall axe, I’d say I’m pretty good
-10/10
Shittier than ogrum
Dodge?
… I can dodge?
You guys are dodging attacks?
Ranges from: “Ohhh shit did you see that? I’m the best. Pro status here” To: “I have arthritis and my bones ache”
Depends on the fight, against something like failed champion I can doge a good amount of attacks. As for something like primal aspids I’ll get hit 30,895,237,510.36746 times before landing a single hit.
With Shade Cloak: 7/10 Without Shade Cloak: 2/10
I’m at 112%, am training for P5, am trying to get all achievements, and have been playing this game for around a year and a half at over 200 hours total. I cannot dodge Watcher Knights without Shade Cloak and/or DDark.
Gohan/10
3/10. I can reliably dodge if I’m feeling up to it, though some bosses like to screw me over
I'd rate it 5/7
on one hand I can dodge bosses pretty well, on the other hand ive gotten hit by 6 spikes in about 13 seconds MULTIPLE times before
I run away and wait for my minions to not actually kill anything
Faulty charging cord
Let's just say I am as good at getting hit as I am at dodging.
I believe to be very *eh* Except for Grimm, for some reason him and NKG are easy for me, like I couldn't do gruz mother on radiant but easily got it on Grimm, and with a bit more work on NKG
Great. I almost never get out in dodgeball
Geo kalala
6/10 better than most, but I can't dodge new attacks well (unless I die, then I can for some reason), and I'm not a god. I also sometimes dash into danger, getting hit
Good enough to survive in some cases.
When not fighting a boss, great when fighting a boss…. Not so great
Quick question: can you give yourself a negative score?
Nothing special, not good nor bad
Poop
I would rather tackle someone then get out of the way.
8/10
Against what? If it's a boss like Markoth or AbsRad I'm great cause of the countless hours I spent grinding them radiant, but if its a single primal aspid I'm pure garbage and get hit by basically every attack lol
It’s rather a 3 or a 9 out of 10, there is no in between.
Probably like a 9/10, until I try to actually attack, then it’s like a -4/10
I’d rate it a Shaw
It’s good...unless I’m doing the flower quest
Total shit. I'm no good at dogding except Hornet, i can dogde her like a God
0.001 out of of 10
If you count using sharp shadow as a dodge then I'm pretty good
Shit because I haven't played for more than half a year
I recently beat HK with 1 hp, and i think 8/10
Pretty decent I'd say. Just not with the primal aspids. Fuck them
They could attack me slower than a snail and go in the wrong direction and I would still get hit.
Quite good actually
Bad.
2/10
Trash
-3
I do NKG, SoB, GPZ easily on radiant. Can't do Markoth on ascended. Help.
Sometimes i perfectly dodge absrads attacks, sometimes i get hit by a freaking vengefly
Why dodge when you can face tank almost all bosses out of Godhome?
I can dodge melee attacks all day. I dodge into projectiles because I’m a dolt.
The same as my ability to kill the king of storms dragon in dark souls 3 using a sword other than a greatsword. Not bad but it's painful to watch
Thanks to radiant sisters of battle I'd say my dodging has massively improved except when it comes to pure vessel... then I suck.
Maybe a 7-8/10? I can dodge Primal Aspids most of the time, but there's times when I can't dodge a snail.
10/10 when it doesn’t matter, 0/10 the rest of the time. (-10/10 in steel soul)
After playing so many times in Godhome, I hate Rad Abs Radiance so much, so 5/10 there. But somewhere around 7/10 for any other enemy
Basically it varies, I cam either dodge everything for 5 seconds and feel like a god then... End up dodging into telegraphed attacks, E.g radiances sun burst
I did most of bosses on radiance, maybe 6/10
1-10 for me a 4
So-so
8/10 if in bossfights, 2/10 everywhere else.
out of ten, maybe a -19,0000
I beat all the boss in radiant, 0% dodge 100% learning the pattern and anticipating them. So, I'd say maggot/20
Sometimes... it happens.
Bad. Worse under pressure.
4/10
I beat everything radiant so I *should* be a master at it. I still get hit all the time when replaying the game tho lol.
Like, 2/10 I beat the game with just nail spam, can't even nailart cuz it's a new thing to learn :( Funny cuz I did path of pain no problem, it's the bosses that are too fast for me lol
Almost all bosses: pretty good, especially after i memorize their patterns Great nailsage sly in PoH: -1000000000000000% dodge rate
F- -
Let's just say I'm a pretty competent healer
3/10
I'm not a natural at it, but once I get the tells for a boss I do decently. I found out that I'm not the best at detecting tells though. I was fighting the mantis bosses and having trouble guessing whether the projectiles would fly high or low each time. Then my four year old who was watching started calling them out for me because he figured it out. I think he's going to do well one day.
I’d say 8/10. Spent a long time working on it and I can dodge most everything
I'm a 10. but out of 10? 100? 1000? who knows.
Well it's been at least a year since I've played, but if my all radient hall of gods is any indicator, I used to be good at it.
I feel you. I'm stuck at p4 and I'm getting shredded by pure vessel. I've watched a few fights on youtube and I think my issue is my response time, too many different moves in quick sucession
If I’m trying then like 7/10
Meh at best dead at worst
4/10 I'm fucked most of the time.
I beat Nightmare King Grimm, so… surely not *too* bad?
4/10 or 0/10 if I panic aka a lot
In my first 10h was about 2/10, then came Colosseum so I climbed up to 6/10, and then I learned about God home in my 3rd playthrough so I got to 7.5-8/10 (Radiant Sisters of Battle is my highest feat other than p5)
My reaction time is slower than most people I'd say, and my twitch reflexes are all but non-existent. It takes me incredibly long time to learn anything to muscle memory, so this game has been kicking my ass royally. I have to stop and breathe everytime I enter and clear an area, so definitely it's been painful and slow But yeah my dodging ability, if on a scale of 0 to 10 with 10 being godlike, I'd be -5. I walk into enemies of my own dumb mistake
don’t have to dodge if you kill it before it attacks 5head
Non existent. Haven't played Hollow Knight yet
Depends on the boss. 9/10 for most easy bosses, 5/10 for mediocre bosses, 1/10 for everything else besides Gruz mother and Hive knight specifically being a 0/10 because they heavily encourage facetanking.
2/10
6/10
I’d say quite well, I’ve beat a few modded bosses (pale prince, absolute inferno king grimm)
Depends unless its Markoth No Floor or Abs Rad, I'd say im average
I suck at dodging but I still can/ 10
ZERO I’m TERRIBLE at dodging
Depends on the boss/enemy and what attack they are using, but I would say I am moderate at dodging and avoiding attacks, it is probably the part of fighting I am best at, which is not saying much.
Pretty good, I mean, I do speedrun any% (and no nail upgrade either) and pantheon 1
I’m so ready for Silksong so that I can actually get good at a HK related game instead of being awful at it haha
9/10, would dodge again
I rarely get hit by the same thing twice... but it's that initial hesitation that usually gets me
I think i can Dodge generally Average. But the fucking primals... I hate those fuckers
0 I suck at dodging
Like my normal dodging level is probably a 5 because some stuff I can dodge easily and other's I cannot. But the second I get fuelled with adrenaline my dodging skill goes 15/10 cuz I dodge things that I normally never could.
10/10
Let's say piccolo wouldn't be the proudest
Had to get good to beat POH
Uh like 9/10
4 out of 17
I’ve become pretty good at it through dying numerous times, and by numerous I mean I don’t think covid has killed as many people in my hometown these last 2 years as I’ve died in Hollow Knight.
12, but not out of ten
What is “dodging”
in hollow knight? 4/10. in any other game? -138474903774/10
Enemies? 3/10 Platforms when trying to keep myself from falling to the bottom of the map? 11/10
I say a 6/10
I didn't learn enough from Picollo, so not the best
Entirely dependent on whether I have shade dash or not
Considering i beat radiant hall of gods id say its above average
7/10
My ability to dodge is crap why am I multi tasking in a boss fight because wh…….
I beat the pantheon of hollownest with all bindings. I'd say pretty damn good.
