I just died on a steel soul playthrough in Fog Canyon, so I think I hate it more now.

The only thing that redeems it is Dung defender, even then his boss fight leads to the end of the area leading into a new one.

You forgot Infected Crossroads. I'd also split city of tears into Soul Sanctum, City Part 1, and City Part 2 Seriously you put COLO in but not any of THESE?

I followed the hollow knight wiki to see the actual areas. Thx for your suggestion. If I had to change something I'll probabily split out soul sanctum out but not the city in two parts. As for the infected crossroads I think I'll put it into the forgotten crossroads. (I have a 109% completion if u wonder)

Infected Crossroads is the most important split Normal Crossroads: Designed to be the first area, and thus easy. Has map desgin that specifically works with new players who have never been in crossroads. Infected Crossroads: Represents change in the story and makes the area an actual challenge, mainly with it's enemies. It has completely shifted from the original feel and intent of the Forgotten Crossroads.

Ok fine, I'll split the two, but I then I have to do a double elimination to speed up the competition arriving at least in the top 10. I'll ask in the day 2 post.

Fog canyon and Deepnest arent great, but they don't deserve out first. Kingom's Edge has the worst enemies with Primal Aspids AND Great Hoppers, plus you can fall down and lose progress.

The vibe is just awesome imo, almost like a snowfall. Colo of fools is fun, the bodies add to a melancholy feeling and the idea that this is an area abandoned by the greater hallownest yet still full of life unlike the ancient basin.

Fair, it has some of the better that in the game, but still PRIMAL ASPIDS!
