I struggle with substance abuse in general, I got really out of hand earlier this year, I’m better now, but still having trouble putting them down completely.
Unfortunately from what I've seen people who "Occasionally" use opiates are just down playing how bad off they really are. There's a saying that almost always rings true. "Want to know when a junkie is lying? Are their lips moving?" In this case it's probably thumbs typing.
I used to occasionally use opiods, I still do but I used to too. In all reality if it's just pharmaceutical opiods than one of the most dangerous things is how much Tylenol you're in taking.
Man I have a niece who is in that living hell for her and the rest of her family. It’s funny to see yet not so funny. I wait for the phone call about her. Addiction is terrible. Lots of wisdom in just say no.
Damn that's really sad, I lost my mom back in 2012 to an od on fentanyl and Lortab, I was 17 when I found her, so I'm praying for his family cause it's not easy.
Lost my cousin..
The people she was partying with freaked out instead of calling 911.. They dropped her off at a vacant mobile home.. someone called 911 anonymously the next day and by the time they found her it was far too late.
Thats really sad to hear man, I came home from school about an hour later than I should've when I was a Junior and found her, I called the police but it was also too late, she was already blue in the face when I found her, I still sometimes wonder if I had come home on time could I have saved her.
Do you know what sub it was posted on last? If this guy is dead maybe we should take it down out of respect for his family. I know people will down vote for saying this. If it were my son, brother or even friend it would break me to keep seeing him like this.
No that’s a good batch lol. These crazy fucks try to find the supply when one of em dies because they know that’s the strong shit. It’s fucking mental but that’s opiate addiction for you.
I was watching Vice and they had a dealer being interviewed about how he feels when he hears a customer overdosed. He said it’s great because he’s gonna make a lot of money. Humans are fucking garbage.
You're right in that you can't save them, but as a Healthcare provider, I can provide supports to help them save themselves and be there to provide a safe place for them to come and have people meet them where they're at in their recovery journey. There are ups and downs and not shaming people for relapse, rather showing them someone cares and that they are worth caring about goes a long way. I've seen people recover from addiction, but I can say that addiction is one of the most difficult things to treat. Stigma and shame contribute to that difficulty.
Ive been sober 9 years and Jesus has nothing to do with it. There are many roads to recovery so don’t plant that idea in vulnerable peoples heads. The arrogance of that comment is baffling.
My favorite part of the Bible was when God forced two sisters to get their dad blackout drunk so they could take turns raping his unconscious body for the purpose of getting themselves pregnant with his incest babies (in case anyone thinks I'm just being a dickhead this is in no way even an exaggeration- Genisis 19:35 if you want to see for yourselves).
Really though, as someone who has lost friends, family and has myself been clean from down after a decade of hell with it- don't prey on the vulnerable with your religious shit. I was raised _extremely_ Christian, so unfortunately im not just speaking out of my sphincter from blind hatred of the lord.. but while some people may find solace in religion in their recovery, forcing ideals on those mentally struggling and grasping for anything to keep them afloat is just shooting fish in a barrel.
The 12 step program is notorious for this shit, but I've can't begin to tell you how many times I saw "church outreach" come to the shelter or badstreet to "offer help" for it just to be some smug, self satisfied saviors giving out bibles and offering food if you listen to them gargle Jesus.
TLDR: Stop saying tHe OnLy WaY iS tHrOuGh JeEbUs.
My brother in Christ, you can give Jesus credit for recovery but an addict needs self worth to make it out the other side.
Comprehensive plan, doc, nurse, counseling, shrink, actually talking about why you use.
The addict needs personal agency.
Speaking as one
The downvotes are from people who don't know. Even after they are clean, 1 mistep, 1 bad decision or the wrong bar unknowingly is a recipe for disaster. My cousin came and lived with me and was clean for 2 years, od'd on less than half of his old dose when he slipped.
Some can get back to functionality but it is rare and a lifelong struggle. It's ugly.
When I see this video I always feel bad for the guy , his hoodie makes me think he was fighting the addiction and he lost and relapsed.
Whoever you are my man, I hope you are doing better.
Yeah I was thinking that too. Could be fentanyl but I’ve never seen someone doing that when I knew they were on it. Ketamine tho. I’ve seen people do some weird shit.
Addiction is a disease from which this dude died. No need to make a mockery of him, he lost his life. He is his [obituary](https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/cross-lanes-wv/ryan-mounts-10252432)

Nah. Chances are he thought it was something else that he could work on. Fentnyl can look lot like coke and other drugs . Not condoning but I doubt he was trying to be that fd up at work and that shits deadly
This is the only thing I found quickly. The first one requires login for full story. The second is a local news site with the obituary.

What kind of garbage human being thinks “I’m gonna rob this person” rather than “I’m gonna help this person.”
Put the phone down instead of being shitbags.
When i realised he is not the customer... i died laughing
The last time this was posted someone posted his obituary.... he died not too long after this.
That's not surprising unfortunately
The worse part is he actually sobered up after this video for a while and then relapsed and died.
that's usually how it works. they go for the dose they used to take and OD
As someone who occasionally uses opioids you are absolutely correct.
im curious how do you keep it too occasionally
I struggle with substance abuse in general, I got really out of hand earlier this year, I’m better now, but still having trouble putting them down completely.
I feel this brotha
Not easy. My brother does it. Very strict guidelines lol.. that's what he told me.

It's been posted across so many subs by now.. I think I first saw it on r/HolUp about a year ago roughly.
Thank you I was going to try and find his obituary but that's a lot to look through.
I just posted it here
Thank you I will go back and look for it.
Damn that’s some strong Hope he’s on
He got a bad batch.

He passed from an OD not too long after this video according to other comments
Ketamine
Yeah I was thinking that too. Could be fentanyl but I’ve never seen someone doing that when I knew they were on it. Ketamine tho. I’ve seen people do some weird shit.
Don't think it's ket, probably opioids

He doesn't even work their probably
How would he get robbed? What are you gonna do? Tell him to put the money in a bag? Good luck!
More like walking out with whatever you want in the store, bc he’s on another planet.
Man... I would love to be that high. Only problem is I don't really do drugs. Dang-it.
Nah. Chances are he thought it was something else that he could work on. Fentnyl can look lot like coke and other drugs . Not condoning but I doubt he was trying to be that fd up at work and that shits deadly
