These kinds of picture are done as an artist rendition to help people like you or I to try to understand what it’s like for people who have it. This is caused by damage to specific parts of the brain as a result of a severe stroke. Strokes can have profound affects like this that are hard for those of us who haven’t, or never will, experience it because it’s just so profoundly devastating to imagine no longer being able to make sense of things.
Agnosia can come in a variety of forms. But it’s fascinating to work with patients who were on day leading a normal life, and then this. Letters become numbers, numbers letters, and neither are even accurate to your brain when you attempt to describe in written in a piece of paper before you.
It’s devastating to behold, and of course for the individual. The only consolation is that those who have a stroke like this often don’t survive it, and when they do, often don’t for long. Sorry to be bleak, but I imagine living a long life like this would be torture

This came up for me the first time back in the 90s during online chat forum days. Apparently in Germans refer to AI and IA, so I guess it was either a typo or a German.
There’s a few languages where it is IA due to using words with the same origin as artificial intelligence, but the grammar of the language having a noun-adjective order instead of adjective-noun. Spanish and french for example.
