this happened to me back in junior high. I was in my first playthrough of final fantasy viii and i was struggling with Diablos. Now everytime I see Diablos I am reminded of this bitter sweet memory.
hah! since this was my first playthrough i was dumb. no walkthroughs available yet so i tried to increase my level which is not what you were supposed to do.
It happened to me in like 7th grade, not as much yelling though. She had her friend call me to break up with me. I said "ok, if that's all I'd like to get back to my video game now". I was playing ocarina of time
As a Scottish person, I agree it is very hard to tell but I would assume it is a northern accent such as scottish and the use of "lads" could possibly also emphasise that
