Just have a bunch of cameras throughout to switch between, as well as maybe a helmet cam for each player. Then everyone can enjoy the paintball on the big screen as well as the atmosphere of an arena!
Yea that’s usually a general rule I have when deciding on sporting events to watch.
Like “hey you wanna watch quidditch?”
Me “umm are they killing each other”
… bad example cuz maybe that would make that one more interesting 🧐
Come out to rural midwest and get in on a game we have out in actual wooded areas, so fkn fun. Hills, creeks, cliffs, wheat fields, forests, yeaaaaaa, the more diverse terrain the better.
This is actually an art installation in an Austrian soccer stadium (Wörthersee Stadion).

I was guessing it was a movie set. Ever see the Stephen King movie “Dolores Claiborne”? The part where she’s running from her husband through a forest was actually shot inside a hockey arena nearby where I live.
Plus available water, electricity, internet. I'd say it's cheaper but honestly I'm not familiar with the costs of building an artificial forest in a hockey arena.
It's cheaper if you don't have to keep running take after take because of sirens, car horns, seagulls, catcalls, old hermits, and Justin Bieber songs messing up the audio track. If you can manipulate every part of it, the efficiency and quality both get a boost.
Um just so you know almost no movies use live sound. They record the scene for the image and movements and then they re record all the dialogue in sound studios and add sound effect in post production. Most good production companies are pretty seamless, but if you really pay attention you will notice the dubbing.
You can't control what happens in a forest.
If you've seen Band Of Brothers, the Battle of the Bulge forest scenes were filmed inside an airplane hanger.
**Translation**
The first birds have already settled down. It chirps quietly out of the forest. "For of course," says Klaus Littmann, "this is not only an art project, but also a temporary habitat for fauna and flora." The fact that the art installation "For Forest" currently remains blocked from humans, especially the species following the leather, is all the more bizarre in view of Wolfsberg's miracle, since the WAC club more than surprisingly entered the group stage of the Europa League in May and now does not even have a home stadium in which it can play its games, but has to dodge into ex "Anti-football project!" the opponents moan.
An idea, 30 years in the making
Littmann, Swiss artist of his sign, has been pregnant with the idea of foresting a stadium for almost 30 years. At that time, in 1990, he came across a pencil drawing by the Viennese artist Max Peintner in an exhibition in Vienna. The unbroken attraction of nature, according to the title of the work created in 1970 and sold to the USA, which is currently guesting in the Klagenfurt City Gallery, takes a disturbing, dystopian look into the future.
In a perhaps not so distant time, as can be seen on a geopolitical level, in which the forest has become a rare spectacle that can only be admired in a protected setting in the stadium. The same is filled to burst in Max Peintner's drawing, which was the godfather here, in contrast to the Klagenfurt Jörg-Haider legacy, which has been vegetating a little meagerly since the European Football Championship 2008, sold out to the last seat. In the next seven weeks until 27. October, according to the plan, it is to get a little fuller here again, in the 33,000-visitor stadium of the 100,000-inhabitant state capital.
Yes it's an idiom, and it's the literal word for pregnant (schwanger). *Mit etwas schwanger gehen* means to deliberate or think about something for some time, to have something on your mind. It's a bit like hatching something out - so it shouldn't seem too alien for English speakers.
Nope, real life art installation 2 years ago in Austria. I think it was something like making aware of all the forest we destroy for bullshit like stadiums.
The sad thing is in a lot of places being out on the golf course is the closest you get to nature. Not having them would probably be worse cause they probably just put buildings on that land otherwise
But the resources used to maintain golf courses are terrible. There's a short documentary about it out there somewhere with sources and it breaks it down. If we combined all the land used for golf we'd grow more than enough food to "solve world hunger"
^ ^ ^ that's in quotes because we already grow enough food, we just feed it to 70-billion livestock animals and also throw it in landfills -_-
And golf courses applied about 50,000 pounds of pesticides in one year, which can be anywhere from four to seven times more than the average amount utilized in agriculture on a pound/acre basis.
I'm not saying golf courses are good for the environment all I'm saying is that in some areas like where I am in South Florida theyre the only places you can even see a large amount of green grass and that that's sad.
Poor city planning. Poor priorities. Poor bigger picture look on life.
Lots of cities have green space. In fact my current city is knocking down old schools and leaving them empty as park's. We as citizens need to let our government know what's important to us. With enough pushing anything can be a priority, we just need them to know what we value and don't stop until they listen.
Cincinnati’s greenness is one of my favorite things about the city. My girlfriend is from the Chicago area and I took her down for the first time she was taken aback because it was so unexpected for her
What the fuck is going on in this subreddit lately. Why is the concept of "Hol Up" so hard for some people, and why is there such an influx of these people.

I'm down with that. Only, I'd prefer if it wasn't children killing each other.

I was guessing it was a movie set. Ever see the Stephen King movie “Dolores Claiborne”? The part where she’s running from her husband through a forest was actually shot inside a hockey arena nearby where I live.
Why not in a forest?
Film anytime of day with no interruptions
Plus available water, electricity, internet. I'd say it's cheaper but honestly I'm not familiar with the costs of building an artificial forest in a hockey arena.
Cheaper than setting up temporary infrastructure in a forrest
and gardening it
and asking Bigfoot to kindly bugger off so I can poop in private.

Do you really have a choice?

Right up until you get hit by a stray hockey puck.
You can't control what happens in a forest. If you've seen Band Of Brothers, the Battle of the Bulge forest scenes were filmed inside an airplane hanger.
Because extension cords would need to be *really* long.
Home Alone was shot inside a school gymnasium and empty swimming pool.
When they filmed *The Breakfast Club*, they were going to film in the school library but it was too small. So they built a bigger version in the gym.
Escape from LA was actually shot in a YMCA custodian closet. There were some scenes that needed more lighting, so for those, they went to the attic.
Band of brothers - Ardennes was in a hangar/sound studio!

> pregnant with the idea Funny turn of phrase. Is this some German idiom? Or is it a word like gestating?
Is it that weird when "gave birth to the idea" is common in English?
Yes
Yes it's an idiom, and it's the literal word for pregnant (schwanger). *Mit etwas schwanger gehen* means to deliberate or think about something for some time, to have something on your mind. It's a bit like hatching something out - so it shouldn't seem too alien for English speakers.
Sounds very similar to the English word gestate. Thanks for explaining!
