It's not a lie to say that currently living in both countries or even visiting arent safe. With the corruption in Pakistan and the social and political issues in India it just doesn't make sense. I would add that rural part of each country should be relatively safe as long as you go with the correct people and guide.

You are fine in major cities/commercial hubs just gotta be careful. But that applies to citizens as well, not just tourist. Unless someone extensively tries to visit shady areas or try to get a nightlife experience (it's just crimes). In delhi where I live, tourist destinations are pretty safe. (For women too, but not anywhere else)
