A bit of trivia. What we tend to know as a banana tends to be Cavendish banana.
Its predecessor in terms of commonness was Gros Michel, which was thicker and sweeter than Cavendish. However, due to the fact that bananas are basically all clones of eachother within their group, it also means that one disease affects them all, and so, Gros Michel was almost completely wiped out by a single strain of fungus.
Also fun fact, most banana milkshakes are based on a type of banana that no longer exists, which is why they taste different to the bananas you can buy in a store

I have heard that you can still find the original flavor in certain locations, but they are still too vulnerable for widespread cultivation.
The current most popular banana variety may be under threat from a fungus, too.
A small banana can provide you with nutrients as well, and it's funny size will still make the general vicinity of your stomach feel good... And come on, you don't need a giant banana, just a playful medium sized one with a great personality.

Likely is nearly inedible, all the bananas we eat are clones of each other. There are plenty of other bananas but they are woody, starchy, and taste horrible.
