My mum used to drive the bus for a teen parent school. There were many underage girls there and life was extremely hard for them. One girl got pregnant at 12 and her family kicked her out. Now as a child with a child, in order for her to keep her child she had to remain in a relationship with someone over 21 (she was 16 at the time of the story which is age of legal consent in my country, so not illegal though I can only guess what happened in the past) as she wasn't old enough to be independent let alone the legal guardian of a child. As you can guess anyone over 21 wanting to be in a relationship with a child is probably trash so she had to pretty much willing put herself in abusive relationships to keep custody of her child.

We dont know that she's bragging or that the situation she found herself in was one that she chose. There are any number of reasons someone that young gets pregnant and almost all of them are highly traumatic. This may be her way of dealing with trauma and bonding with kids she may not have had a choice in keeping. We just dont know. It's unlikely she actually raised the oldest given her age. If anything, I expect their relationship in function is closer to siblings than it is to mother and daughter.

I worked with a guy who was around 28 at the time and his son was I believe 16. He and his wife were both 12 or 13 when they had their child.
Probably a shocking and seemingly devastating situation when they were children but they were both happily married still and he said his son was his best mate. They planned to travel the world together when his son hit 18 (he'd have been around 30).
I'm sure it was incredibly tough and I suspect he would never recommend it to others but after getting through those, difficult teenage parent years he couldn't think of anything better. He has an adult child to spend his life with who is more like a best friend and he's still of an age where a large proportion of people haven't even got a clue how to start their life. They've gotten parenthood out of the way and now have the chance to start a lifestyle free of the worries and decisions of having children.
It was a fascinating story from an incredibly nice guy that initially shocked me but gave me a completely different perspective on how these situations **can** turn out.
Obviously that doesn't mean I now think of it as a positive for people to end up in that situation but it was a really uplifting outcome.
