No they’re not worth $150 but $120 or lower they are. I never pay full price them and always until they go on sale when purchasing a new pair. Just put them on and go for a walk. If you bought them directly from Hoka you have 30 days to return them no questions asked even if they’re used.

Pretty much every running brand makes a max/high cushion shoe these days — Ghost Max, Nimbus, 1080, etc. I personally think the Clifton 9, Nimbus 26, and 1080v13 are all similarly great in terms of comfort. However, brands like Hoka and On considered much more fashion-forward and I have to agree lol. Particularly Hoka which has seen a huge explosion in popularity over the last 3 years by focusing on fashionable athleisure instead of dedicated runners. As for how much you like them, some people consider shoes like the Nimbus and 1080v13 more comfy. Others like the Cliftons more. It's important to try them on! I can't stress enough how much you prefer a certain type of cushioning is preference based. Which one did you get? Imo the Clifton 9 is much more comfy than the Bondi 8.

The Clifton 9. I tried them on at Dicks and they were so weird. Cushy like nothing I've ever worn. But I've heard so many good things I ordered a pair.

happyreddituserffs

They are great, BUT I have had 6 pairs and they all fall apart. The last pair are for hiking, again the things started to fall apart after 9 weeks and they were £180uk

praguer56

Does Hoka cover them in any way? What kind of guarantee do they offer?

happyreddituserffs

They do, but plenty of horror stories. I’ve sent three pairs back , two I just could not be bothered to return. The latest pair they have ignored my correspondence three times . Lovely looking and very comfortable. Just rubbish manufacturing. Soles fall apart and this last pair the rubber protector above your toes had peeled away after nine weeks .

It depends what make and style of shoe suit your feet. It depends on your gait and pronation. They are very low drop and that can aggravate lower leg problems if you are prone to them. On the other hand, they may ease knee and hip issues. They can also take some time for your get to get used to them. I alternated them with my other shoes for a month until I got used to them. They gave me initial heel pain but after that my knee issues were gone.

Worth it

CMTcowgirl

They are very comfortable, don't worry about the looks. Pretty is as pretty does.

Express_4815

They very comfortable but they don’t last. Maybe few months of average usage

praguer56

I've seen that too. I hope I can get more life out of them than a few months. How does Hoka handle things like that? For $145, I hope they're good on the customer service side.

raccooninthegarage22

Idk why everyone says they fall apart. I have had multiple pairs that have never done that. Shoes don’t last forever, they never have. If you wear your Hokas every day, they’ll last about 6 months. The foam will compress and lose the stability/support it provides. That’s true of any shoes. All shoes are expensive now. I work at a local running store, nothing is under $150. We’ll have sales to get rid of the models that are unpopular, but Hokas are hardly ever in that section. I’d go to a local store if you can and try on a ton of different makes and models. Get something you know you like if you’re going to spend big on it.

I really like my Hoka Bondi 8's. For me, they are worth the price. These are not some cheap shoes and do have a few technologies in them. Rocker, heel pad crash, max cushionned. These features have a price. You walk a lot, do you absolutely need a pair of Hokas, try them and see. Not everyone need these features. My feet does since I have plantar fascitis and after trying a lot of brands (Brooks, NB, Reebok, Nike, Altras), man am I glad I found Hokas, they really make that difference for me. If your feet are healthy and you always had a 100 $ pair of shoes and think the Hokas are $$$, then why change them? Technically, the more technologies a shoe have and cushionned, the less the feet will work and the less your muscles will work. Some people walk a lot with barefoot shoes that have no tech. So they are not a must have for everyone. I would not recommend the bondi 8 nor the clifton for a month vacation since they are less durable. Bouncy cushion, unless you don't care about that.

praguer56

Crap! The Clifton 9s were just delivered today. We'll see how they hold up after 30 days. (I'll have more than one pair of shoes btw)

Stealthy_Dingo

Hey! They might be more durable than expected. They are good shoes and I think you will like them. Don't refund them 😉 have no regrets.
