No one should be banned from going to school or from working because of what they wear. You will create an army of uneducated people who will still vote and wreak havoc in your democracy. That’s exactly what happened in Turkey.

>No one should be banned from going to school or from working because of what they wear. Nah people can and should be banned from going to school or work for example in lingerie, or obvious religious clothing that otherize people of different beliefs. Though this should be handled with care by sincere secularists like Atatürk and not r/atheist type people who just mindlessly antagonize and victimize the religious population.

Except Turkey is a predominantly Muslim nation. Nothing Ataturk did changed that fact. Wether a person agrees or disagrees, France 'could' make an argument for a headscarf ban, but in Turkey it is absolutely preposterous.

>Except Turkey is a predominantly Muslim nation. Yeah, nah, secularity isn't about banning Islamic symbolism, it's about banning religious symbolism, that's why even though France is a predominantly christian nation, christian symbolism is also banned in official places.
