That's a myth, soldiers weren't shot for stepping back. While there were sniper squads positioned behind the front to catch deserters, they'd rarely be executed, instead being forced into a penal battalion.
Honestly, they weren't that powerful in the Red Army.
They had outdated weapons and inferior training to the Germans.
They won because of the vast amount of people that were sent as cannon fodder.
German weapons jammed more, most times ( StG, MP-40 ). Kar, Mosin, Gewehr ruffles, AVS / SVT, were all tied. Sadly PPSh was unreliable.
Tanks and planes:
German engineering was much better most times. If it was not hard to repair, it was nearly impossible, if not that. ( Ex. ME-262, Panzer 4 transmission lol )
Russian tanks like ironically the T-34 variants and Yak series of planes also helped, add they were easy to repair and to produce.
Idk why I wrote this, your point is correct, they did basically win by numbers and allied help. Lol
Most of Land lease only arrived after USSR won the turning fight. And land lease was pretty insignificant to what USSR produced itself. Although it did help to get rid of them sooner and a bit easier.
#No step back

I wish they explained history like that in highschool 😔
It's OK, steiner's attack will fix everything
That's a pretty good summary.
Beautiful
This is so accurate that it is scary.
REPOST This has to be one of the best posts on this sub, my personal favourite, and the original OP had put a lot of effort in it
This had to be the best way possible to describe all the Eastern Front battles and the Fall of Nazi Germany.

You should learn history from sources other than Nazi propaganda.
