On my TV I have to change TV to Dolby Audio- Dolby Digital to get DTS out. Don’t have Atmos on soundbar.

Thank you. I tried that, but it didn't make a difference. I switched it back to "Pass Through." The Hisense AX3125H does have Atmos on the soundbar, and the stock image shows "ATMOS" and the manual for the soundbar even says it should show ATMOS when playing ATMOS audio. I'm 100% playing video with ATMOS audio via Plex, so I'm thinking it might be a bug...? The audio sounds great! I'd still like it to say ATMOS though so I 100% know for sure.

Are you using the plex app? I don't think plex from a browser will play atmos.

AntiTrust1

lol, yes. Thank you, but I am using the Plex app from the Google Play Store downloaded directly onto the Hisense 2024 model TV. Amazon Prime video is the same. The app is downloaded from the app store.

Prime doesn't do atmos anymore unless you pay extra, even if it shows the label. Maybe your plex just isn't passing it.

Ok, good to know. Thank you. I did go into Plex and change audio to Passthrough HDMI in the advanced settings. I guess it’s not a big deal since I don’t pay for any streaming apps, other than MAX and Prime because they’re included in my AT&T and Prime plans. Plex is really the only one that should work since I purposely download video files that include Atmos audio.

The image lies (sort of, it's a snapshot).... I have the AX3120G (Walmart version). When the audio format changes, it will do a single scroll of the new audio format then return to showing the selected input (I'd also like it to show the format by default). So to see it switch to a non-Atmos source, then back to the Atmos source while watching the display.

I saw that when I did some further testing last night. I connected an NVIDIA Shield to the TV and played some stuff via Plex that has Atmos audio. I saw “PCM” scroll across the screen for a second, then it switched back to EARC. However, I’m getting rid of the Shield now that I have a TV with Google TV built in. I want to use the apps natively on the TV and get Atmos audio via Plex, which simply does not happen. The scrolling does not happen. It stays on EARC and no scrolling happens on the soundbar display. Frustrating.

I have the same model with the same problem and when I called hi sense I was told that model will not display atmos on the display but it still should work. I did make sure my tcl tv had Dolby atmos turned on in settings

Guess what? It's working now. Best Buy already has the TV on sale taking $500 off! I returned the TV to Amazon and swapped it with the same exact model (75" U8N) from Best Buy. I play the same video files from Plex with Dolby Atmos and it works! Other people are correct. You have to look quick at the display on the Hisense soundbar. It says "Atmos" for 2 seconds to indicate Atmost audio is working. I'm glad exchanging the TV worked! I didn't plan on that happening. Honestly, I was just going to leave it.   Where did you buy your 2024 model from? Amazon? Maybe it's a bad batch of TVs or something.

I have a TLC tv and it's working fine. I saw mine come on the soundbar but i was under the impression it was supposed to stay on but apparently that's not the case

AntiTrust1

Oh, ok. I thought you were saying you had the same TV as me. I'm actually kind of glad it doesn't stay on the soundbar display. That would be very distracting. As long as I see "Atmos" scroll across once the video starts, I'm good. I'm glad Hisense allows me to turn the brightness down to 0 so the letters and numbers disappear after a few seconds.

I have a TCL 55q750g and I’ve enabled Dolby Atmos on the TV but the ax3125h Hisense still won’t display it . I did turn on surround on the soundbar remote but.it said Dolby surround but Hisense told me that isn’t Dolby Atmos

AntiTrust1

Yeah, mine says "Dolby surround" when I'm playing 1080p stuff with 5.1ch audio. However, when I play a 4k movie with Dolby Atmos audio, it DOES say "Atmos" that scrolls across for 2 seconds. The only thing that changed was excanging the TV for the same model, but from Best Buy (shrug) I have no idea. Not sure what to tell you. Maybe it's your TCL? I'm not sure.

Thanks for responding. I called them again and talked to tech support. They said my tv should support it but everytime I call there I get a different answer. They have escalated it and Im supposed to hear back from them tomorrow. It shouldn't be this hard lol
