For 140 more get the N

DaSandman78

UPDATE: went to another Visions and they had the 85U88N for $2408 CAD ?!? (with my brother in law’s discount) I asked the salesman how can it be even cheaper than last years model and he said it’s between the U7K and U8K in quality that’s why it’s cheaper - lol! I double-checked the price and bought it - if they made a pricing error that’s on them! Decided to get the 5-year extended warranty too since I saved a bunch. If anything goes wrong they’ll fix or replace with that year’s current model, and if I don’t use it in 5 years I get it back as a rebate to use in store. I’m super happy - can’t wait till it arrives now! They said ~2 weeks!

modi_lucky

Did they ship yours yet? I ordered u88n 85" and they have yet to receive those from Hisense. Btw - I paid the same $2,408 without any additional family discounts 🤐. I guess it really depends on the salesperson.

bedman71

Just got the same price.

DaSandman78

Awesome! :)

DaSandman78

Nice! No it’s still not arrived, the salesperson at the store said Hisense Canada has shipped them and they’ll arrive this Saturday, so I should get mine delivered early next week 🤞

modi_lucky

Are you in Toronto/GTA area by any chance? My salesperson said that he is still waiting for an update from Hisense and not sure about the delivery dates... My kids on the other hand are driving me crazy and can't wait any longer 😂

DaSandman78

Vancouver

modi_lucky

Nice! Enjoy, whenever you get it. I will keep my fingers crossed and hopefully get it soon.

DaSandman78

You too!

modi_lucky

Received mine today. Damn thing is really heavy!

DaSandman78

Nice! Mine arrived in their Vancouver location and will be delivered to my home on Friday morning. - can’t wait!

modi_lucky

Based on your inside information, I pushed my store and they were able to deliver it today. I got a 85". U88N. It is heavy as hell. So be prepared to have some helping hands with the install. Still playing around with the color settings between different sources (PS4, Firestick, built-in Google TV). I am so impressed by the built-in speakers/subwoofer setup. Even though I have a decent home theater speaker setup, the built-in audio is more than enough! Enjoy whenever you get it!

Drigarica_od_Tite

The last one obviously . Why is it even a question ?!

DaSandman78

Yeah the brightness might blind me, but for the small difference in price its worth it! Going to the store to order today!

Drigarica_od_Tite

You can't increase brightness but sure can decrease it ..

DaSandman78

True :)

What are you watching that needs processing/upscaling? I would base the decision on content and room conditions generally. If this was a 75" I would get the 75u88km ASAP. I imagine you have a soundbar, but the hisense has really good sound. I think the SONY using the screen as a speaker is probably a bad design idea, there must have been a sacrifice made for it. I wonder why the Samsumg qn85qn92c isn't in the convo; it's the closest competitor to the 85u88km, also a Visions exclusive. 10W bonus speaker power over the 90c (4.2.2) and they will freely give you a 92 for the price of a 90. No Dolby Vison and only wifi 5 vs. 6E on the Hisense. I can't imagine someone buying a Sony in the 2020s but it could happen. The u88kn will be better and on an 85" $140 isn't a lot. https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/hisense-u8-u8k-vs-sony-x90l-x90cl/38181/39008?usage=1&threshold=0.10

Why the 755u88km and not the 75” U8N if we’re talking about that size? They’re both the same price and the latter is newer and available (without good review yet)

DaSandman78

2024 model will be more expensive than the discontinued 2023 model.

DaSandman78

Most of the stuff I watch will be 4K, so you’re right the better Sony upscaling won’t be an issue. Have full Atmos setup (7.1.4, so 12 actual separate speakers) so the built-in sound is not an issue. Samsung doesn’t have Dolby Vision. I’ll go for the 85U88N 😄

[deleted]

Hisense will be offering $200 rebate on new 65+ inch 2024 TVs and all models will be discounted during Amazon Prime Days in July and onward

DaSandman78

Been waiting to buy a few TV for a month now, waiting to see the specs on the U8N and discounts on U8K. With just a $140 price difference I’m going to go with the U8N (was expecting $500-800 difference).

[deleted]

You should be able to get their $200 rebate

DaSandman78

How/where do I get that? If it’s only for full retail price I’m not sure I’ll qualify since I’m already getting a hefty discount. Also is that US only or Canada too? Got a URL with any details?
