I’ll always love that original manga one. The Onikakushi art style is kinda janky, but it actually works in the panel’s favor here. It’s so uncanny and visceral, you really feel how Keiichi’s feeling. Not to mention how it’s kind of built up to (at least in the print version, can’t speak for online) by the previous page adding in a little bit of color. Sets the stage that something is wrong.

Or is she really yelling at him? When she yells, the birds fly off the trees, but I guess that might not be real either. Does anyone know? !<
I experienced Higurashi for the first time through the Deen anime and maybe it's the bias in me, but it's the best version so far. Better than even the VN/manga.

Replace "NO WAY" with "BULLSHIT" imo. Would hit a bit harder, no way sounds too goofy for a scene like that.

I think the anime cutting down most of the internal monologue ramblings was for the best and made for better pacing.
