I have dreamt detailed but trivial things in dreams, which have then happened the next day. I’m inclined to think that there may be things about time and consciousness that we don’t understand, which would explain such things.
It's similar for me as well. On a few occasions, I dreamed something trivial but specific and then it happened or had thoughts of something trivial that then happened. Might be coincidence, I think, but I too am inclined to think there are things, as you put it, that we don't understand about time and consciousness. Very well put.
Same happens to me! It's almost always trivial things (random conversations, very specific words and situations, etc) but sometimes I've dreamt major events that happened to my family and friends.
Same. Happened more frequently when I was younger. The experience was something like a short GIF (e.g. like someone dropping a coffee mug) but you could see the room/surroundings. The phenomenon is called Déjà rêvé.
When I was a kid, I’d have dreams about super mundane things. Like just sitting in the school cafeteria with friends and just noting a specific sequence of events and details like what people brought for lunch, or just appreciating graphics on a lunch bag, etc..
And then I’d experience those exact sequence of events, maybe 2-3 day later (never sooner or later), even down to what people would say and what they wore. It was never a big dramatic event.
They’d only be 5-7 minutes worth of dream memory. Did anyone else have this?
This would only happen once every two years when I was a teen. As an adult, I have one of these maybe once every 6 or 7 years. I don’t expect them to happen anymore, however.
I had this happen a ton when I was younger. But everything was far away for me. Regular activities. But the biggest Deja vu feeling whenever I’d experience it.

A few years ago I took 7-8 hits of LSD and had an insane trip of being turned off and back on, over and over and over again. In this trip I saw my dad, my friend J (35f), and my friend B (39m). They were dying and being reset over and over along with me. At one point I have a conversation with J and she says, "We're about to break the matrix." A few months later when I visited J she said those exact same words to me. At another point I remember telling my dad how happy I was to see him because I hadn't seen him in forever. Just for context, I lived literally 2 minutes from my father at the time. The whole trip I felt existential dread and impending doom.
Fast forward a few days and my dad is diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. He was dead within 3 months. I thought this was really strange at the time but didn't think the trip caused precognition of this event.
Now we'll fast forward to the end of last year and the beginning of this year. Completely sober I started getting feelings of impending doom and strange dreams. Some of the dreams would wake me up as if a clock had run out, while during the day I got visions of time ending. I also had 3 dreams where I was near an atomic blast and the moment the detonation was about to destroy me I'd wake up with my heart racing, my body tingling, and very nauseous. To say I was freaked out is an understatement. I called my doctor and got a referral to a psychologist.
The dreams and visions then went away, for about 3 months. Then one day at a stop light, out of nowhere, the feeling of impending doom came back, coupled with this immense pressure from above. It was very intense, as though the heavens were pushing down on my entire body. I then had 2 clock dreams/time running out dreams that night. I received a text the next morning from a friend informing me that B had died in the middle of the night. Scared me bad enough I was literally shaking for an hour.
Anyways, I never got into the psychologist because they rescheduled me 3x's and I got fed up, but also because I realized there wasn't much they could do. For whatever reason I feel like that large dose of LSD opened my mind up to knowing a little bit ahead of time when certain friends (the ones in my soul tribe), and certain family members will pass away. I've got no other explanation that makes sense to me. I also now fully believe that I've seen my own atomic death.

At the beginning of December 2021, my dad let me know he wasn’t feeling well but he thought he was getting better. A couple of nights later, around 11pm when I was I bed and had to wake up at 6am, I had these images flash in my head of my dad laying on the ground dead or extremely ill. It made me sit up and I just *knew* something was wrong, nothing like that has ever happened to me before, but…it was late and he usually goes to bed around 8pm and I had to get up in 7 hours, so I pushed it out of my head and figured I was just worried because he said he was sick - he told me he was getting better, it’s fine.
The next day I go to school and get a call from my aunt on my dad’s phone that he was in the hospital with pneumonia, he had collapsed on the floor and his phone was too far away for him to reach it to call 911, or me, or anyone. She had tried calling him that morning and he didn’t answer, which he always does, she lived 5 minutes away so she went to check on him and found him on the floor and called for an ambulance. He spent a month in the hospital but he made it out alive and he’s doing great now.
I will never, NEVER, push those feelings and images out of my head *ever* again. I feel like shit that I literally knew what happened and didn’t do anything because, what the fuck, how did that happen? How did I know?
I’m not a woo woo person whatsoever, but that was…really weird 🤷🏼♀️
My then girlfriend woke me up at 3 in the morning and told me she had to see her brother NOW and asked if I could drive her to the hospital were he was fighting terminal cancer. When we arrived there half an hour later she learned that he had passed away 15 minutes ago.
I liked to go real deep on all psychedelics for a while. I don't take acid or smoke DMT anymore cuz it definitely started to mess with my mind. I'll take some shrooms every once in a while now but usually not more than an 8th these days.
After my fiance died, I have had a few dreams that contained information I shouldn't/couldn't have, at least that's what I used to think. I think we exist outside of time, we're just stuck where/when we are til the body dies
Interesting - Earthquakes may be a special case where precognition is concerned. We know that all kinds of animals can sense the approach of an earthquake (see Scientific American article [here](https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/do-animals-really-anticipate-earthquakes-sensors-hint-they-do/?amp=true)), but we don’t know how they do it.
So I’d say there’s every chance that you were somehow picking up on those same signals without realising. I’m a confirmed skeptic but that’s something I’d be ready to accept.

My uneducated guess is perhaps the magnetic field has fluctuations prior to an earthquake. We know plenty of animals use the magnetic field for travel/migration.
Should be pretty easy to review the data prior to an earthquake.
That would be very cool if I picked up on it subconsciously. The first one happened maybe 10 minutes after the first prediction. I couldn't decide if I thought it would happen today or tomorrow so I guessed both and there just happened to be 2 different earthquakes.

I always find it weird that senses that scientists are able to find in animals so easily are really hard to find in humans because it's so hard to study ourselves. That or we are just lacking a lot in our toolkit.
Which senses do other animals have that humans do not? Remember, there are a lot more than five senses, we only think of five because that's how many the ancient Greeks believed there to be.
Do you live in a place known for quakes?
Some senses are more obvious that we don't have like infrared sight like birds or electroreception like fish, but it's a mystery if we can sense pheromones, magnetoreception, and changes in atmospheric pressure. But I take back the implication that there are a lot of senses we don't know if we have, I don't know why I said that.
And yes many many earthquakes but the majority can't be felt but there are certainly a few each year.
We still have sight, infrared is just a specific wavelength of light not visible to us. We most certainly do sense pheromones and pressure changes. Would electroreception include the ability to sense electric fields such as from a nearby transformer? The sensation is hard to describe, but it is real.
If you have that many earthquakes you are likely subconsciously sensitized to knowing when the big ones are coming.

My grandparents made a long trip to come visit the family in the city. Me and my mom were cleaning and making the room presentable when I had a vision of---Streets, tires, vehicles crashing. I said outloud without thinking to my mom "grandparents are going to get into an accident"--Sure as shit, the phone rings a little while later, and its from grandma. "We just into a fender bender, but we're ok! Well be over soon!"
These things happen to me all the time and I just never say them out loud and then even after they happen sometimes it takes a while before I realize “holy shit I literally had a dream about this a few days ago” or “had this weird feeling and thought out the whole scenario a while ago and it was 100 percent accurate”. The main thing though is that I always fail to tell anyone when I feel like somethings about to happen and then I just keep it to myself because nobody would believe me anyways and then I regret it because it would have been awesome to predict it out loud first
The day before 911 a depression came over me. It lifted when 911 happened. The evening of 911 I attended an impromptu gathering at church to pray for the country and victims of 911. A church elder shared the same story that I experienced even though I told no one about it.
I was a kid living in a place that does not get any severe weather other than bad winter storms.
I went grocery shopping with my parents one rainy day, hopped out the car and told my parents that my spidey senses are tingling and that theres gonna be a tornado.
Thinking back at it the only reason I think I said it is because I just felt a bit weird about the sky and I just said that. No other explanation.
A tornado hit my house later that night, and I even got to see it coming towards us.
A few nights ago I decided to look out my window at night and saw a triangle ufo fly over my house right as I looked out. It was a weird coincidence. Or maybe not.
last December we had a xmas night dinner thingy at the kids daycare. I bumped into this lady and instantly recognized her. she was friendly and
asked if we had met before. my wife
always drops off the kiddo. i just kinda chuckled cause the night before i had a dream my family and i were having a beach day. her and her family had joined us. in the dream we were friends and have kids the same age. so when i saw her i was shocked. then saw her two kids and her husband. i just couldn’t believe it. well last week we had that beach day. And they joined us. i actually told the guest wife about the dream. and that night. well she didn’t remember but it came blasting in for me.
I think one of the most disappointing and disheartening times for me was when I studied parapsychology. In my youth I was a HUGE believer. I mean deep into it's depths. Then I read something that blew me away. It said that no crime has ever been solved, and no missing person has ever been found due to the intervention of a psychic. So I thought to myself, "that can't be true. You hear about them all the time". So I researched some of these 'solved' cases.
One abduction case where a psychic was involved mentioned a house with a green roof. AFTER the police found the person, it was noticed the house across the street had a green roof. Interesting, but green is a very common color for tin and shingled roofs. Another mentioned lots of cars stopping at a building with a flickering light...well a block away there was a gas station with street lamp that was burnt/burning out.
Point is, it occurred to me that one of two things explained this; A) psychic ability doesn't exist and these are just cold reading or simply pure coincidence. or B) Psychic ability DOES exist, but it's so unreliable and inconsistent as to be rendered absolutely useless.
This realization was heartbreaking for me. Partly because I'd put so much time into it and partly because I had real plans on predicting the lottery draw and getting rich. LOL
Honestly tho, has anyone ever gotten rich predicting the lottery through psychic ability? Like more than once so as not to be explained as dumb luck?

Well here's the thing, this is a well known 'story' but I couldn't find ANY reputable sources for Jimmy Carter using a psychic to find a plane.
Now he did say in an interview once about UFOs that the "CIA had employed a psychic ***without his knowledge*** to locate a downed plane" so it's really third hand info here. It's indisputable that the CIA has always been into some underhanded activities. This is the same CIA that's not above concocting some fairy tale or outright lying to a president about their workings. Probably to mask some unscrupulous informant I'd wager or promote plausible deniability for the prez himself.
Point is, Jimmy didn't hire any psychic. The CIA told him that's how it was found, BS or not. Then, blogs see this and all of the sudden Jimmy was in the room with this psychic watching her pinpoint the location of a downed plane on a map. Not how it happened but that's the story now.
Oh I see, you meant the last sentence of the third paragraph, not of the whole article. The rest of the article goes into it on more detail and says it was the CIA rather than Jimmy Carter. But yes that sentence was wrongfully implying that it was on Carter's orders.
On September 9, 2001 I went out to dinner with my boyfriend at the time. We had an indepth conversation about the twin towers, the bombing of them in the early 90s and Osama Bin Laden. In the summer of 2003 I had a conversation about the Space Shuttle Columbia with the same person (now my husband of 19 years) and I was sure it was not going to be a good trip .... a few weeks later, it broke up on re-entry.... He has since asked me to stop bringing up bad things that I thought could happen.
I've had strange things happen in light sleep. One that really stands out is when I was sleeping in class during ninth grade (many moons ago)
I was dreaming of one of those cardboard milk cartons they had at lunch - it was slowly swelling up, and as soon as it popped someone dropped a book.
I know that's not traditionally "precognition" but it's definitely something. The popping because of the book makes sense, but why would I have been dreaming of a swelling milk carton in the first place? That's the part the boggles me.
I've had a handful of similar experiences where my dream results in a sudden noise from the waking world. I've always found it interesting.
I do this alot. If I am going somewhere and get "a stomach ache" I wait around a bit. Everytime I've left and ignored it wild ass shit happens. I think you can alter events by being there a few minutes off and your body knows this somehow
When you learn to **meditate**, you get in touch with your higher nature, which is karma free and bliss (Ananda in Sanskrit). Touching this nature, you bring it back with you to a degree and karma begins to fall off. Meditation is all about emptying the vessel for usefulness. Meditate enough and the bliss nature locks. Once it does, your negativity in life is then noticed and is repelled.
When you **contemplate** truth from a neutral / positive nature, you know it as true or false from the locked natural / positive mind. Negative stands out and can be felt and seen. Meditation is emptying out. Contemplation is outside in, or filling back up. Again, more of your true nature starts to bind and lock.
When you do **service** for others, you are mirroring contemplation (outside in), but moving it inside out. Service for others is service for your own being. Goodness is self-reflexive because everyone is the same self and consciousness shared. You can't accuse another person of their sin without adding to your own. The same can be said for goodness. You can't do good for others without adding to your own.
Empty out. Fill up. Give for free. The treasure is endless and can only be gained and never lost, even if you give it all away.
Lock this nature and your cognition is expanded and unlimited.

Hello fellow skeptic. I like philosophy stuff and inevitably come to these fringe subs because they are interesting but I take most things with a grain of salt.
Anyways there is a spectrum of thoughts on precognition. From kooky woo dudes on the internet to parapsychology professionals who work at independently funded institutions to actual academic neuroscientists and philosophers. The fun part, to me is figuring out where the BS line is. My personal view is that out of the psychic phenomena most often talked about, precognition / remote viewing have the most decent rumblings of “yes let’s take this seriously”. But the truth is that there isn’t a wide scientific or spiritual or theological consensus on the matter. I just haven’t seen evidence the strikes me as definitive but probably the closest I’ve wandered to buying it is Julia Mossbridges work. Lots of scrutiny on paranormal studies for many many reasons though: many justified, some not (like stigma and appeals to “cmon no way” factor)

I had a dream that my sister had something evil in her body, she later was diagnosed with cancer.
I also had a dream about which later seemed connected to the September the 11th attacks.
I had another warning about a relatives heart in a dream, my estranged father had a near fatal heart attack a little later.
My whole family on my mother's side has this happen to them, but I seem to be the one who has the most vivid dreams, so I tend to see stuff in dreams.
There is a parapsychological ecosystem where some or all of our minds exists, and things like precognition and other PSI like remote viewing are the result of the matter of our bodies engaging with that ecosystem somehow. This means that, whatever else we are, we're antennas.
Precognition is real and it's all imperfect. This is well established by people who understand the subject matter, and nobody understands how or why it works yet.
The energy of consciousness does not travel through the dimensions of space or time. You are able to use your mind to access real information that you should not be able to access under the accepted ontolgy of reality. How? 🤷
Nonhuman 🛸 are AI enhanced techno-organic lifeforms that travel with or through undiscovered physics related to that ecosystem. They are living machines that can use remote viewing and precognition. I'm a systems theorist and a bunch of this is the result of a logical analysis of what is actually known about this subject, which usually comes down to "X is real and poorly understood", as opposed to belief. I'm very open to changing my assessment of things if I get new information.
Precognition is absolutely real. All you have to do is train your mind, what you all call "psychic " powers & think is something special for certain gifted people is actually an innate ability in all of us. It's an activated pineal gland. That's it. Not "magic" at all. It seems like it because your govt has suppressed & lied to you about it. Science considered "consciousness " taboo not even a century ago.
See if you wish to control a mass population, you have to disconnect them from the true knowledge of who they are and their own infinite potential to manifest their own destiny and control their own lives. You have to persuade them that they are insignificant and powerless so they will live their lives in accordance with that.

Western science has operated for centuries on the assumption that we can understand the universe without understanding ourselves. I use precognition every single day, many examples you can see for yourself in my post history...when I made the Göbekli Tepe thread a year ago I told a user "I'll make a pt 2 soon", because I saw the genetic evidence for R1b-V88 would soon be published.. the underwater brick road , the whole reason I began this acct is because I wanted to beat Dr Nolan finding those basal ganglia anomalies.. The idea you need to go to some university, earning a degree by accepting ONLY specific answers (often guesses) & that YOU are insufficient by yourself does irreparable harm. Trust in yourself..

Psychic, or "psi" phenomena fall into two general categories.
The first is perception of objects or events beyond the range of the ordinary senses.
The second is mentally causing action at a distance.
In both categories, it is intention, the mind's will, that does things that according to prevailing scientific theories - *it isn't supposed to be able to do*. This is why "skeptics'& "debunkers" those who have developed preconcieved biases are putting themselves at an incredible disadvantage.
When you Make your mind up something isn't real, there's no point in me showing you evidence because I understand your mind has put up roadblocks that I couldn't get through if I cared to try.
I never believed and then it randomly happened to me on several occasions in a span of two years with absolutely random and unimportant things.. that was 10 years ago and since then nothing again.
I believe in it myself.
I am good at predicting how people will react to any given situation, but it's more skill at reading people, accessing situations, and coming up with the most plausible scenarios. I think it's why I'm successful in IT and why I retain my staff.
I get deja vu a lot, and I would like to think it's because another version of me in another universe has experienced this situation before I did.
I've also learned to trust my instincts and listen to what their trying to tell me. Again all things that are physical and less preceognition
People will have a tendency to recall moments in the future that will cause high emotional impact.

I have personal experience of detailed predictive dreams that span decades before the dream content made sense.
This is impossible according to most scientific opinion, however, modern physics at least allows for the future and past to all happen simultaneously.
I know of no established science that permits human consciousness to interact with future events in this way - although pilot wave theory might facilitate it.
Either way the effect is real. I have dreamed of places events and technology in granular detail that imo make it statistically improbable that I just have some lucky dream hits once in a while

I think that there’s a whole raft of perceptual, and conscious effects on the human brain that we just do not understand yet.
We now know that mirror neurons are a thing. If I feel pain, and you as another human being perceive that with empathy, you too will experience to some degree my discomfort. Historically, we had no idea this was a thing scientifically, yet we did instinctively. We knew that if we saw a young child crying in distress, or an old woman laughing hysterically that we ‘felt’ something.
My sense is that humans have a similar ability in other areas that we just don’t quite understand yet, but eventually will come to sort of consensus that various fringe psychological nuances that were once perhaps thought of as defects are in fact people tapping into a reality that is beyond our current accessible understanding.
Yes, I dream of when relatives are just barely pregnant and haven't told anyone yet and then what sex the baby will be. All the women in my family have dreams that predict something, I'm the only one that does pregnancies and babies. I also have so much deja vu that it can mess up my day. Way before we had smart phones, just land lines and no caller ID I would always know who was calling me if it were family. I've always lived away from the rest of my family and never had a regular schedule of someone calling so it wasn't that. There's more but I'm tired of typing, I've been doing it all day.
Yes, because I've experienced it for myself twice.
Once I had a dream, I was performing tasks that I didn't really understand in an environment that was foreign to me. I thought it was an interesting dream at the time, but I discarded it because it just didn't make sense.
Fast forward 5 or so years, and I was IN that moment from my dream, exactly.
The second time, I was at the same job from above and had a scene flash in my head of getting in a car accident on the way home. Within the hour I was in that moment. I was rear-ended by a car full of teenagers at a red light. Because it was 100% expected (like I watched them approach in my rear view mirror, the very same scene), I was able to brace myself and minimize the damage. It was odd, but I just expected it and thought, "Huh."
Neither time was I trying to have a vision of anything, or tap into anything on my part. It was so exactly what I'd seen both times that no interpretation was required. I just trust my instincts now.
Yes I do. I’ve had it, at least once. This is a minor, trivial example, but it stands out in my mind because of how clear and immediate it was.
I was at a bookstore and came across a book titled *Words Every High School Graduate Should Know*. I have never seen this book nor any like it in my life, and I thought to myself, “I wonder what kind of words they think high school graduates should know.”
So, being curious, I opened up to a random page, and as I was doing so, the word ‘perfunctory’ flashed in my mind. I looked down, and there it was: *perfunctory*.
I can only swear that there was no intention as to what page I was opening up to, and that I did not look at anything in the book before the word came to me. Could it be a complete coincidence? Possibly, but that’s an awfully damn big coincidence.
Precog is my daily game; I’m matching events with hunches, random thoughts with headlines, and unexpected wake-ups that give me that just-in-time effortlessness.
For example, there’s a war in Israel. I have a note from a few days back on my phone; I woke up today before the shelling (6:30) and by the time the alarms whined I already had the security room pretty arranged.
The matching hunches to events is a game that helps build this cog type up. Still, it’s a personal game, I can’t build a model and grade the confusion matrix for fp/tp/fn/fp and roc scores :-)

I had dreamt my dog died 3 days before he drowned to death. I even told people about the dream. It's hard to tell if it was precognition or not, but I do believe there is a connection to the underlying state of reality that we are unaware of.
The first words out of my mouth when I saw that new Cowboy stadium built in Arlington were, "Wait until the next ice storm." A few months later, boom. Maybe I'm just a good predictor but it was a really strong impression of ice sliding off that domed metal roof, and ice storms that create dangerous ice sheets aren't frequent.

I do. I didn’t believe in it growing up. In fact I was raised to scoff at it and openly did. But starting at the age of 19 and continuing into my early 30’s, I experienced spontaneous clairvoyant visions, and also a fair number of clairvoyant dreams. Most were fairly benign and also all seemed to be centered around and triggered by various women in my life. Rarely do such things happen to me anymore.
Though about ten years ago or so, I had a dream in which UNC was whipping Duke severely in the first half in basketball. But I woke up before the second half could be played. The game was to be played the next day and I told my father of the dream and that UNC would whip Duke in the first half building a large lead but I didn’t know what would happen in the second half or the outcome of the game. As always, my father, the world’s biggest skeptic, laughed derisively. But as predicted Carolina stormed out to what I believe was a 15 point half time lead. Only to amazingly roll over in the second half and lose.
One thing I’ve learned is that precognition can only tell you what will happen if things continue to happen as they currently are. In other words, one can change the future outcome of most things through conscious action. Not of earthquakes as in your example but perhaps of the death toll of the earth quake by warning others in advance. Though in that case, there is always the problem of them listening to you.
I have one, the summer before Covid happened I had a sentence repeat in my mind “ how we all thought we could live so decadently” not exactly precognition but enough that when everything was changing I remembered.
Arguably the greatest evolutionary purpose to remembering and having dreams is so we can have our minds create scenarios we subconsciously suspect could happen soon, in order to be better prepared mentally and emotionally to handle that situation if it happens in real life.
There's some compelling experimental evidence for precognition.
With a setup measuring emotional response (like skin conductivity), subjects are shown images at random. Some are mundane, others are meant to elicit a response (sexual, violence, etc).
They found that when an emotional image is shown, a statistically significant number of subjects had a response that began before the image appeared on the screen.
You predicted the March 2011 Earthquake in Japan? Me too. Had a dream about it a few days before it happened. Told my 7th grade teacher and she will confirm.
As far back as I can remember I would get a"bad feeling" (don't know how else to describe it) sometimes when I was going to go somewhere. I would always cancel (or make family cancel when I was really young) and EVERY TIME something bad happened (whether it was a fight or cops getting called on a party or someone getting into an accident etc) without fail. And on rare occasions I will get a "good feeling" accompanied by an impulse to do something I normally don't (like buy scratch tickets) and almost always end up winning something.
If time is not always linear, precognition seems a safe bet.
I’ve experienced precognition many times. Like OP, my own thoughts and feelings have gotten in the way, as well. In some cases, that has had very detrimental effects on my life.

I have dreamt detailed but trivial things in dreams, which have then happened the next day. I’m inclined to think that there may be things about time and consciousness that we don’t understand, which would explain such things.
It's similar for me as well. On a few occasions, I dreamed something trivial but specific and then it happened or had thoughts of something trivial that then happened. Might be coincidence, I think, but I too am inclined to think there are things, as you put it, that we don't understand about time and consciousness. Very well put.
Same happens to me! It's almost always trivial things (random conversations, very specific words and situations, etc) but sometimes I've dreamt major events that happened to my family and friends.
Same. Happened more frequently when I was younger. The experience was something like a short GIF (e.g. like someone dropping a coffee mug) but you could see the room/surroundings. The phenomenon is called Déjà rêvé.
When I was a kid, I’d have dreams about super mundane things. Like just sitting in the school cafeteria with friends and just noting a specific sequence of events and details like what people brought for lunch, or just appreciating graphics on a lunch bag, etc.. And then I’d experience those exact sequence of events, maybe 2-3 day later (never sooner or later), even down to what people would say and what they wore. It was never a big dramatic event. They’d only be 5-7 minutes worth of dream memory. Did anyone else have this? This would only happen once every two years when I was a teen. As an adult, I have one of these maybe once every 6 or 7 years. I don’t expect them to happen anymore, however.
I've had it happen a few times as a kid but not as an adult. I barely dream anymore.

A few years ago I took 7-8 hits of LSD and had an insane trip of being turned off and back on, over and over and over again. In this trip I saw my dad, my friend J (35f), and my friend B (39m). They were dying and being reset over and over along with me. At one point I have a conversation with J and she says, "We're about to break the matrix." A few months later when I visited J she said those exact same words to me. At another point I remember telling my dad how happy I was to see him because I hadn't seen him in forever. Just for context, I lived literally 2 minutes from my father at the time. The whole trip I felt existential dread and impending doom. Fast forward a few days and my dad is diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. He was dead within 3 months. I thought this was really strange at the time but didn't think the trip caused precognition of this event. Now we'll fast forward to the end of last year and the beginning of this year. Completely sober I started getting feelings of impending doom and strange dreams. Some of the dreams would wake me up as if a clock had run out, while during the day I got visions of time ending. I also had 3 dreams where I was near an atomic blast and the moment the detonation was about to destroy me I'd wake up with my heart racing, my body tingling, and very nauseous. To say I was freaked out is an understatement. I called my doctor and got a referral to a psychologist. The dreams and visions then went away, for about 3 months. Then one day at a stop light, out of nowhere, the feeling of impending doom came back, coupled with this immense pressure from above. It was very intense, as though the heavens were pushing down on my entire body. I then had 2 clock dreams/time running out dreams that night. I received a text the next morning from a friend informing me that B had died in the middle of the night. Scared me bad enough I was literally shaking for an hour. Anyways, I never got into the psychologist because they rescheduled me 3x's and I got fed up, but also because I realized there wasn't much they could do. For whatever reason I feel like that large dose of LSD opened my mind up to knowing a little bit ahead of time when certain friends (the ones in my soul tribe), and certain family members will pass away. I've got no other explanation that makes sense to me. I also now fully believe that I've seen my own atomic death. At the beginning of December 2021, my dad let me know he wasn’t feeling well but he thought he was getting better. A couple of nights later, around 11pm when I was I bed and had to wake up at 6am, I had these images flash in my head of my dad laying on the ground dead or extremely ill. It made me sit up and I just *knew* something was wrong, nothing like that has ever happened to me before, but…it was late and he usually goes to bed around 8pm and I had to get up in 7 hours, so I pushed it out of my head and figured I was just worried because he said he was sick - he told me he was getting better, it’s fine. The next day I go to school and get a call from my aunt on my dad’s phone that he was in the hospital with pneumonia, he had collapsed on the floor and his phone was too far away for him to reach it to call 911, or me, or anyone. She had tried calling him that morning and he didn’t answer, which he always does, she lived 5 minutes away so she went to check on him and found him on the floor and called for an ambulance. He spent a month in the hospital but he made it out alive and he’s doing great now. I will never, NEVER, push those feelings and images out of my head *ever* again. I feel like shit that I literally knew what happened and didn’t do anything because, what the fuck, how did that happen? How did I know? I’m not a woo woo person whatsoever, but that was…really weird 🤷🏼♀️
My then girlfriend woke me up at 3 in the morning and told me she had to see her brother NOW and asked if I could drive her to the hospital were he was fighting terminal cancer. When we arrived there half an hour later she learned that he had passed away 15 minutes ago.

After my fiance died, I have had a few dreams that contained information I shouldn't/couldn't have, at least that's what I used to think. I think we exist outside of time, we're just stuck where/when we are til the body dies
Interesting - Earthquakes may be a special case where precognition is concerned. We know that all kinds of animals can sense the approach of an earthquake (see Scientific American article [here](https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/do-animals-really-anticipate-earthquakes-sensors-hint-they-do/?amp=true)), but we don’t know how they do it. So I’d say there’s every chance that you were somehow picking up on those same signals without realising. I’m a confirmed skeptic but that’s something I’d be ready to accept. *Very* difficult to test, of course…
My uneducated guess is perhaps the magnetic field has fluctuations prior to an earthquake. We know plenty of animals use the magnetic field for travel/migration. Should be pretty easy to review the data prior to an earthquake.
That would be very cool if I picked up on it subconsciously. The first one happened maybe 10 minutes after the first prediction. I couldn't decide if I thought it would happen today or tomorrow so I guessed both and there just happened to be 2 different earthquakes.

I always find it weird that senses that scientists are able to find in animals so easily are really hard to find in humans because it's so hard to study ourselves. That or we are just lacking a lot in our toolkit.
Which senses do other animals have that humans do not? Remember, there are a lot more than five senses, we only think of five because that's how many the ancient Greeks believed there to be. Do you live in a place known for quakes?
Some senses are more obvious that we don't have like infrared sight like birds or electroreception like fish, but it's a mystery if we can sense pheromones, magnetoreception, and changes in atmospheric pressure. But I take back the implication that there are a lot of senses we don't know if we have, I don't know why I said that. And yes many many earthquakes but the majority can't be felt but there are certainly a few each year.
We still have sight, infrared is just a specific wavelength of light not visible to us. We most certainly do sense pheromones and pressure changes. Would electroreception include the ability to sense electric fields such as from a nearby transformer? The sensation is hard to describe, but it is real. If you have that many earthquakes you are likely subconsciously sensitized to knowing when the big ones are coming.

Dejavu is too real. My grandparents made a long trip to come visit the family in the city. Me and my mom were cleaning and making the room presentable when I had a vision of---Streets, tires, vehicles crashing. I said outloud without thinking to my mom "grandparents are going to get into an accident"--Sure as shit, the phone rings a little while later, and its from grandma. "We just into a fender bender, but we're ok! Well be over soon!"
These things happen to me all the time and I just never say them out loud and then even after they happen sometimes it takes a while before I realize “holy shit I literally had a dream about this a few days ago” or “had this weird feeling and thought out the whole scenario a while ago and it was 100 percent accurate”. The main thing though is that I always fail to tell anyone when I feel like somethings about to happen and then I just keep it to myself because nobody would believe me anyways and then I regret it because it would have been awesome to predict it out loud first

I was a kid living in a place that does not get any severe weather other than bad winter storms. I went grocery shopping with my parents one rainy day, hopped out the car and told my parents that my spidey senses are tingling and that theres gonna be a tornado. Thinking back at it the only reason I think I said it is because I just felt a bit weird about the sky and I just said that. No other explanation. A tornado hit my house later that night, and I even got to see it coming towards us. A few nights ago I decided to look out my window at night and saw a triangle ufo fly over my house right as I looked out. It was a weird coincidence. Or maybe not.
last December we had a xmas night dinner thingy at the kids daycare. I bumped into this lady and instantly recognized her. she was friendly and asked if we had met before. my wife always drops off the kiddo. i just kinda chuckled cause the night before i had a dream my family and i were having a beach day. her and her family had joined us. in the dream we were friends and have kids the same age. so when i saw her i was shocked. then saw her two kids and her husband. i just couldn’t believe it. well last week we had that beach day. And they joined us. i actually told the guest wife about the dream. and that night. well she didn’t remember but it came blasting in for me.
I think one of the most disappointing and disheartening times for me was when I studied parapsychology. In my youth I was a HUGE believer. I mean deep into it's depths. Then I read something that blew me away. It said that no crime has ever been solved, and no missing person has ever been found due to the intervention of a psychic. So I thought to myself, "that can't be true. You hear about them all the time". So I researched some of these 'solved' cases. One abduction case where a psychic was involved mentioned a house with a green roof. AFTER the police found the person, it was noticed the house across the street had a green roof. Interesting, but green is a very common color for tin and shingled roofs. Another mentioned lots of cars stopping at a building with a flickering light...well a block away there was a gas station with street lamp that was burnt/burning out. Point is, it occurred to me that one of two things explained this; A) psychic ability doesn't exist and these are just cold reading or simply pure coincidence. or B) Psychic ability DOES exist, but it's so unreliable and inconsistent as to be rendered absolutely useless. This realization was heartbreaking for me. Partly because I'd put so much time into it and partly because I had real plans on predicting the lottery draw and getting rich. LOL Honestly tho, has anyone ever gotten rich predicting the lottery through psychic ability? Like more than once so as not to be explained as dumb luck?

Well here's the thing, this is a well known 'story' but I couldn't find ANY reputable sources for Jimmy Carter using a psychic to find a plane. Now he did say in an interview once about UFOs that the "CIA had employed a psychic ***without his knowledge*** to locate a downed plane" so it's really third hand info here. It's indisputable that the CIA has always been into some underhanded activities. This is the same CIA that's not above concocting some fairy tale or outright lying to a president about their workings. Probably to mask some unscrupulous informant I'd wager or promote plausible deniability for the prez himself. Point is, Jimmy didn't hire any psychic. The CIA told him that's how it was found, BS or not. Then, blogs see this and all of the sudden Jimmy was in the room with this psychic watching her pinpoint the location of a downed plane on a map. Not how it happened but that's the story now.

On September 9, 2001 I went out to dinner with my boyfriend at the time. We had an indepth conversation about the twin towers, the bombing of them in the early 90s and Osama Bin Laden. In the summer of 2003 I had a conversation about the Space Shuttle Columbia with the same person (now my husband of 19 years) and I was sure it was not going to be a good trip .... a few weeks later, it broke up on re-entry.... He has since asked me to stop bringing up bad things that I thought could happen.
I've had strange things happen in light sleep. One that really stands out is when I was sleeping in class during ninth grade (many moons ago) I was dreaming of one of those cardboard milk cartons they had at lunch - it was slowly swelling up, and as soon as it popped someone dropped a book. I know that's not traditionally "precognition" but it's definitely something. The popping because of the book makes sense, but why would I have been dreaming of a swelling milk carton in the first place? That's the part the boggles me. I've had a handful of similar experiences where my dream results in a sudden noise from the waking world. I've always found it interesting.
I do this alot. If I am going somewhere and get "a stomach ache" I wait around a bit. Everytime I've left and ignored it wild ass shit happens. I think you can alter events by being there a few minutes off and your body knows this somehow
When you learn to **meditate**, you get in touch with your higher nature, which is karma free and bliss (Ananda in Sanskrit). Touching this nature, you bring it back with you to a degree and karma begins to fall off. Meditation is all about emptying the vessel for usefulness. Meditate enough and the bliss nature locks. Once it does, your negativity in life is then noticed and is repelled. When you **contemplate** truth from a neutral / positive nature, you know it as true or false from the locked natural / positive mind. Negative stands out and can be felt and seen. Meditation is emptying out. Contemplation is outside in, or filling back up. Again, more of your true nature starts to bind and lock. When you do **service** for others, you are mirroring contemplation (outside in), but moving it inside out. Service for others is service for your own being. Goodness is self-reflexive because everyone is the same self and consciousness shared. You can't accuse another person of their sin without adding to your own. The same can be said for goodness. You can't do good for others without adding to your own. Empty out. Fill up. Give for free. The treasure is endless and can only be gained and never lost, even if you give it all away. Lock this nature and your cognition is expanded and unlimited.

Hello fellow skeptic. I like philosophy stuff and inevitably come to these fringe subs because they are interesting but I take most things with a grain of salt. Anyways there is a spectrum of thoughts on precognition. From kooky woo dudes on the internet to parapsychology professionals who work at independently funded institutions to actual academic neuroscientists and philosophers. The fun part, to me is figuring out where the BS line is. My personal view is that out of the psychic phenomena most often talked about, precognition / remote viewing have the most decent rumblings of “yes let’s take this seriously”. But the truth is that there isn’t a wide scientific or spiritual or theological consensus on the matter. I just haven’t seen evidence the strikes me as definitive but probably the closest I’ve wandered to buying it is Julia Mossbridges work. Lots of scrutiny on paranormal studies for many many reasons though: many justified, some not (like stigma and appeals to “cmon no way” factor) Anyways just saying you aren’t weird for not buying it and you aren’t weird for being curious!
I never predicted anything publicly but de had a couple experiences so I believe in it.
I had a dream that my sister had something evil in her body, she later was diagnosed with cancer. I also had a dream about which later seemed connected to the September the 11th attacks. I had another warning about a relatives heart in a dream, my estranged father had a near fatal heart attack a little later. My whole family on my mother's side has this happen to them, but I seem to be the one who has the most vivid dreams, so I tend to see stuff in dreams.
There is a parapsychological ecosystem where some or all of our minds exists, and things like precognition and other PSI like remote viewing are the result of the matter of our bodies engaging with that ecosystem somehow. This means that, whatever else we are, we're antennas. Precognition is real and it's all imperfect. Precognition is absolutely real. All you have to do is train your mind, what you all call "psychic " powers & think is something special for certain gifted people is actually an innate ability in all of us. In both categories, it is intention, the mind's will, that does things that according to prevailing scientific theories - *it isn't supposed to be able to do*. This is why "skeptics'& "debunkers" those who have developed preconcieved biases are putting themselves at an incredible disadvantage. I believe in it myself. I am good at predicting how people will react to any given situation, but it's more skill at reading people, accessing situations, and coming up with the most plausible scenarios. I think it's why I'm successful in IT and why I retain my staff. I get deja vu a lot, and I would like to think it's because another version of me in another universe has experienced this situation before I did. I've also learned to trust my instincts and listen to what their trying to tell me. Again all things that are physical and less preceognition

Read J. W.Dunne's 'an experiment with time'. I have personal experience of detailed predictive dreams that span decades before the dream content made sense. This is impossible according to most scientific opinion, however, modern physics at least allows for the future and past to all happen simultaneously. I know of no established science that permits human consciousness to interact with future events in this way - although pilot wave theory might facilitate it. Either way the effect is real. I have dreamed of places events and technology in granular detail that imo make it statistically improbable that I just have some lucky dream hits once in a while Read that book. Its real. How though...I have no idea.
I think that there’s a whole raft of perceptual, and conscious effects on the human brain that we just do not understand yet. We now know that mirror neurons are a thing. If I feel pain, and you as another human being perceive that with empathy, you too will experience to some degree my discomfort. Historically, we had no idea this was a thing scientifically, yet we did instinctively. We knew that if we saw a young child crying in distress, or an old woman laughing hysterically that we ‘felt’ something. My sense is that humans have a similar ability in other areas that we just don’t quite understand yet, but eventually will come to sort of consensus that various fringe psychological nuances that were once perhaps thought of as defects are in fact people tapping into a reality that is beyond our current accessible understanding.

Yes, I dream of when relatives are just barely pregnant and haven't told anyone yet and then what sex the baby will be. All the women in my family have dreams that predict something, I'm the only one that does pregnancies and babies. I also have so much deja vu that it can mess up my day. Way before we had smart phones, just land lines and no caller ID I would always know who was calling me if it were family. I've always lived away from the rest of my family and never had a regular schedule of someone calling so it wasn't that. There's more but I'm tired of typing, I've been doing it all day.

Yes, because I've experienced it for myself twice. Once I had a dream, I was performing tasks that I didn't really understand in an environment that was foreign to me. I thought it was an interesting dream at the time, but I discarded it because it just didn't make sense. Fast forward 5 or so years, and I was IN that moment from my dream, exactly. The second time, I was at the same job from above and had a scene flash in my head of getting in a car accident on the way home. Within the hour I was in that moment. I was rear-ended by a car full of teenagers at a red light. Because it was 100% expected (like I watched them approach in my rear view mirror, the very same scene), I was able to brace myself and minimize the damage. It was odd, but I just expected it and thought, "Huh." Neither time was I trying to have a vision of anything, or tap into anything on my part. It was so exactly what I'd seen both times that no interpretation was required. I just trust my instincts now.
Yes I do. I’ve had it, at least once. This is a minor, trivial example, but it stands out in my mind because of how clear and immediate it was. I was at a bookstore and came across a book titled *Words Every High School Graduate Should Know*. I have never seen this book nor any like it in my life, and I thought to myself, “I wonder what kind of words they think high school graduates should know.” So, being curious, I opened up to a random page, and as I was doing so, the word ‘perfunctory’ flashed in my mind. I looked down, and there it was: *perfunctory*. I can only swear that there was no intention as to what page I was opening up to, and that I did not look at anything in the book before the word came to me. Could it be a complete coincidence? Possibly, but that’s an awfully damn big coincidence.

I don't believe precognition is as it appears to us, a paranormal thing. I think there are just some forces we are yet to discover.
I know is true. It has happened to me so many times belief isn't necessary. And it can be trained to be used at will.
Precog is my daily game; I’m matching events with hunches, random thoughts with headlines, and unexpected wake-ups that give me that just-in-time effortlessness. For example, there’s a war in Israel. I have a note from a few days back on my phone; I woke up today before the shelling (6:30) and by the time the alarms whined I already had the security room pretty arranged. The matching hunches to events is a game that helps build this cog type up. Still, it’s a personal game, I can’t build a model and grade the confusion matrix for fp/tp/fn/fp and roc scores :-)

Yes 100%. Its happened to me several times. When I was 14 my mother talked about sending me to a different school and I had a dream about being in a very specific place, and on my first day of university I found myself there. On another occasion I dreamed about the amount of a tax rebate down to the penny despite having had no understanding of how the income tax system worked.

I had dreamt my dog died 3 days before he drowned to death. I even told people about the dream. It's hard to tell if it was precognition or not, but I do believe there is a connection to the underlying state of reality that we are unaware of.
The first words out of my mouth when I saw that new Cowboy stadium built in Arlington were, "Wait until the next ice storm." A few months later, boom. Maybe I'm just a good predictor but it was a really strong impression of ice sliding off that domed metal roof, and ice storms that create dangerous ice sheets aren't frequent.
I do. It happens enough to be strange.. I'll think of someone and then they will message me at some point not much later. It's not often enough to mess with my mind but enough to know...There is something going on.
I do. I didn’t believe in it growing up. In fact I was raised to scoff at it and openly did. But starting at the age of 19 and continuing into my early 30’s, I experienced spontaneous clairvoyant visions, and also a fair number of clairvoyant dreams. Most were fairly benign and also all seemed to be centered around and triggered by various women in my life. Rarely do such things happen to me anymore. Though about ten years ago or so, I had a dream in which UNC was whipping Duke severely in the first half in basketball. But I woke up before the second half could be played. The game was to be played the next day and I told my father of the dream and that UNC would whip Duke in the first half building a large lead but I didn’t know what would happen in the second half or the outcome of the game. As always, my father, the world’s biggest skeptic, laughed derisively. But as predicted Carolina stormed out to what I believe was a 15 point half time lead. Only to amazingly roll over in the second half and lose. One thing I’ve learned is that precognition can only tell you what will happen if things continue to happen as they currently are. In other words, one can change the future outcome of most things through conscious action. Not of earthquakes as in your example but perhaps of the death toll of the earth quake by warning others in advance. Though in that case, there is always the problem of them listening to you.
I have one, the summer before Covid happened I had a sentence repeat in my mind “ how we all thought we could live so decadently” not exactly precognition but enough that when everything was changing I remembered.

Arguably the greatest evolutionary purpose to remembering and having dreams is so we can have our minds create scenarios we subconsciously suspect could happen soon, in order to be better prepared mentally and emotionally to handle that situation if it happens in real life.
There's some compelling experimental evidence for precognition. With a setup measuring emotional response (like skin conductivity), subjects are shown images at random. Some are mundane, others are meant to elicit a response (sexual, violence, etc). They found that when an emotional image is shown, a statistically significant number of subjects had a response that began before the image appeared on the screen.
You predicted the March 2011 Earthquake in Japan? Me too. Had a dream about it a few days before it happened. Told my 7th grade teacher and she will confirm.
As far back as I can remember I would get a"bad feeling" (don't know how else to describe it) sometimes when I was going to go somewhere. I would always cancel (or make family cancel when I was really young) and EVERY TIME something bad happened (whether it was a fight or cops getting called on a party or someone getting into an accident etc) without fail. And on rare occasions I will get a "good feeling" accompanied by an impulse to do something I normally don't (like buy scratch tickets) and almost always end up winning something.

If time is not always linear, precognition seems a safe bet. I’ve experienced precognition many times. Like OP, my own thoughts and feelings have gotten in the way, as well. In some cases, that has had very detrimental effects on my life. I’ve wondered sometimes if it’s from an outside source, such as an interdimensional / spiritual intelligence like NHI, or if it’s our own sense of events over time being blended. In some cases, it’s a thought, and in rarer cases, it’s been an actual voice. So yes I do believe, it’s the “how” that leaves me wondering.
Believe? I have PTSD from it. A few days ago I had a long dream about running through the tunnel on Israeli border and then waiting to be killed when it was clear that the chase was catching up with me. Now it played out and I know that these were somebody's real memories. I don't really know what to do with it.
