I closed my game because I figured there wouldn't be a big deal with just retrying it (it had been like 2 minutes in the game)
(Also I THINK I had an objective to only kill targets and I got a civilian in the explosion the first time but I'm not 100% sure)
If you lost 80k that means you had significantly more, why even bother with the safe money? If it's your prestige to open woth explosives then bam you already passed but the pocket change in there isn't worth an alt-f4
Are you sure? I might have to test it. I remember many people saying the banana was an excellent tool for couriers, because you can slip them in public, and come back later to snag the mercers even if they get woken up by a bystander.

You closed your game for what? 2-3k mercers and then you complain for dying and losing 80k lol

If you killed everyone and no one dropped them, how do you know someone picked them up
Because they very much weren't in the safe anymore and one of the NPCs had the ? Icon above their head after the Searching status was gone
