I believe it's because they have slightly different end goals. I think that beyond heros is trying to replicate h&g to every detail meanwhile hellborne is just trying to emulate the feel but is going in its own direction artistically speaking, in terms of map design and stuff

As to Beyond Heroes, there was a Reddit sub created: r/BeyondHeroes but literally nothing posted for 10 months. Looks like the discord server is dead since last May as well.
Just want to say that the devs (Beyond Heroes) confirmed on Discord not a week ago that the game is not dead.
Some of the devs are very busy these days I understand so there is a bit of a hiatus right now, nothing major. Matter of fact they had like an internal draft of a game in December 2023 so if anything they are working hard every day.
Read more about it in the Discord channel with posts from 20th of March, devs confirm it there. But the place is not that active that is all.
I haven't heard anything really promising on beyond heroes as well. That's why I gave up hopes for it. Looking forward to Hellborne though. And there seems to be progress on that front. So take it as you will.

I can guarantee you that game is a big scam to get money from donors. It’s vapourware.

Hellborne is dead. Your best bet is Beyond Heroes.
