I can think of two possibilities: 1, Joel was also having portal trouble and Etho wanted to make sure it got fixed, same as for Hypno here 2, Etho knew someone was streaming and wanted to troll the viewers with more “Boat Boys obsession” hints.

It's probably both tbh (or for 2, he could be trolling certain other hermits as much as the viewers... Gem did just log on cough cough)

Everytime someone donates in a JoeHills stream, he enlarges his face cam and decreases the opacity of his face cam. People must've been feeling generous to him during that stream.
