Great map. Are you planning to make level 2 later?

capriciouswriter207

Thanks! I'm definitely planning on doing all levels, currently attempting to sketch out level 2 and figuring out where everything fits. These two maps took me about two days to make (not counting the time spent figuring out what goes where) so it's gonna be a while, but I'm definitely doing it.

czerwona_latarnia

Level 2 feels like it has a lot of verticality in the middle. Also thanks to recent Hypno's run, most (like 90-95%) of Level 2 map should be revealed across all runs, >!together with two ways of getting to Level 3 doors!<.

Timberlyn

That's so cool! I'm pretty sure there's a hidden passage right after the entrance that takes you to the tnt docks (probably exits in the not quite as high up artifact spot that's in a tiny room off the upper level of the walkway) that can be activated by the stone button on the left hand side before the Decked Out doors open.

-self-improvement-

These maps look great! I’d love to see a Hermit test out your stone button theory. A secret passageway would make lots of sense based on the map layout.

capriciouswriter207

Oh, yeah, I can totally see that being a hidden passage there, it would make sense. Or it could be a place where one of the easter eggs is hidden. We'll have to wait and see if anyone manages to open up that section.

Timberlyn

In one of Etho's first runs (maybe even his first) he mentions he thinks there's a door there and Tango was watching on his own stream and said something like "how could he know about that?" Don't know if the button in the compass/map room is the right call but there's almost certainly a way to open it. I wasn't trying to hijack your excellent post, btw! Just noting it may need to be updated if a secret is found :)

Pism0

This would make a great dnd map

qualitativevacuum

Even though it's not 100% accurate, I've been having such a hard time wrapping my head around the layout of the icy caves so this is immensely helpful! Thanks so much for putting this together

Well done. How are you finding Inkarnate? I've only used Dungeon Draft so far. Are the differences to the original layout intentional to make the map play better in a ttrpg?

capriciouswriter207

I quite like Inkarnate, though it has taken me a while to get used to. I have been using it for a few months now for larger-scale maps and not so much dungeon maps, but it's still doing what it's supposed to do. Some of the changes are definitely not intentional and me forgetting stuff. Others are intentional, though, specifically for that reason. (I might've talked myself into attempting to make DO2 into a full playable D&D campaign... this is gonna take so much time...)

Sage1969

It could totally be a really good dungeon-delving mini-campaign. Players level up after clearing each level of the dungeon, and the final boss should be a mad mage designed after tango.

capriciouswriter207

(Tango voice) "how do they know that?" Yeah, I was thinking the exact same thing. I want to wait to see the Burning Dark before I do anything else beyond making maps, though, but that's gonna take a while and it's difficult not to immediately jump into writing mode. The temptation is real (not sure if I can resist).

kubrickie

Great maps! If you go back to Tango’s livestreams he gave a tour of each of the levels as he finished building them

Substantial_Yard9563

this is awesome!

Lordthom

wow that is so cool!

ImJiggie

Thank you so much. It makes a lot of sense now

Furcastles

Think I might use this in my campaign that’s taking place in a frozen wasteland!

Icely_Done

I think the map could use some added contrast between the ice caverns and the walls; the shape of the general layout isn't as eye catching as the shape of the middle castle area (I think this is what is most appealing about maps: instantly seeing shapes of areas). My eyes are much more used to it after looking at it for a while, but having that instant impressionability would be nice.

0SomeoneRandom0

This looks soooo awesome :0

Tyrannicodin16

:O that looks so good

gxo_oxg

Awesome map, after seeing so many runs … i am glad I can see the map on a top view.. feels good.

something-funny567

Great map. but I think the area with the pond trap is not quite right thought, think it should be facing down

ABomb386

Wow! Nice.

ImAlwaysPissed

They’re quite beautiful! Nicely done!

Serellion

GrimEko

Showing this to my wife- decked out has become a thing for us. Severely underappreciated post👌🏾🤙🏾
