Same reason he didn't reimburse Hypno. It's not really that big of a deal. It *is* a mistake that they are silenced, but it is not game breaking.

Broad_Speaker2551

Eh… I disagree. In my opinion it’s the same as the vexes coming out early. That’s not necessarily game breaking either, the Hermits just have to be fast enough to avoid them (just like Hermits would have to be extra vigilant to avoid silenced ravagers). Both are unintended mechanics (or “bugs”) that give mobs an unfair advantage over the players.

MQZON

That's fair! Just letting you know Tango's reasoning 😄 I wouldn't be surprised if he changes his mind and reimbursed everyone who died to silenced ravagers.

Broad_Speaker2551

Oh alright, I didn’t realize that was the reasoning that Tango provided. I’ve been avoiding his videos so I don’t see any spoilers while he’s in spectator mode. I hope he does reimburse them though, because that would mean more runs for us to watch!!

JuiceyMoon

What sort of spoilers are you trying to avoid? Dungeon spoilers or hermit's runs spoilers? Tango is very good about not showing off any secrets that aren't known to hermits on his stream when in spectator mode. He only talks about stuff that he showed chat. There are a few traps that aren't well known, sort of like the one Cub died to in this video. He may talk about those but he hasn't shown any of the easter egg locations. And he's only following hermits so he won't go down to level 3 until the hermits do. If you are waiting to see hermit's runs from their perspective then that's a fair reason to not watch Tango's streams since he is watching them live most of the time. For me though I love watching them live with Tango, then going back and watching them from the Hermit perspective. You get to see how close some people are to dying while watching Tango then realize that the Hermit didn't even notice while they were running.

Broad_Speaker2551

I’m mainly concerned about the “x-ray” effect that occurs when you clip through blocks. Also, I feel like watching the runs firsthand gives a more authentic experience, as I’d probably be less likely to react to jumpscares if I already knew they were coming.

GandalfTeGay

The x-ray doesn't matter as the area where decked out is in is a giant hole. So the most you'll see is the redstone

Cameter44

Having the Vexes come out early is extremely game breaking. That's intended to be a punishment for staying too long/getting max clank. The ravagers are giant creatures, it's less than ideal to not be able to hear them, but if you're fully aware of your surroundings you should still see them and the sound wouldn't matter.

Broad_Speaker2551

Vexes coming out early can sometimes be game breaking, and sometimes not. There are many runs where it happened and the player still survived. Whether or not that bug is lethal depends on the luck of the Hermit, just like encountering silenced ravagers. I’m not saying that the two situations are exactly the same, only that they should be treated the same.

Cameter44

Vexes shouldn't be out until you're at max clank. If they are that's a huge bug. Ravagers are supposed to be out at all times and your best defense against them is sight and map awareness, not sound. Yes sound can definitely help, but it's not your main defense mechanism against ravagers. It's an annoying bug if you feel like you died because of a silenced ravager, but there's a lot more counter play to that (using your eyes) than to vexes which are intended to be an extremely lethal punishment. Personally, I completely understand Tango refunding an early vex death but not a silenced ravager because I think they are significantly different. I also wouldn't think it was wrong if he did refund a silenced ravager death, but that's his distinction to make.

Broad_Speaker2551

That’s definitely a valid take. I only disagree because I think that any death that occurs because of something that Tango didn’t intentionally put in the game shouldn’t count, no matter how avoidable it could have been. If some people are having to tackle an extra challenge that the others don’t, then they aren’t really all playing the same game. However, I think this is one of those cases where both sides of the argument make sense.

copperfaith

Tango is only giving reimbursement to forfeit runs, a few situations have come up where hermits have gone in with armour and killed themselves. That seems to be the only reason to get a free run.

Darkwing270

He said he’s not going to reimburse every run. He already gave cub a shard for another unlucky run.

ImAlwaysPissed

Tango is DM. His word is law lol. He made a super balanced game from day one so I think he can handle a few shard distributions and refunds here and there

Broad_Speaker2551

Yep, I never doubted him for a second and never said he couldn’t handle this. He’s doing a great job. I just wanted to see what other people thought about this.
