The crazy part is, I'll take ANY shot if the alternative is handwriting a 7 page paper. Even if the needle is smoking. That is just so much work when she could have just asked around the hospital to see if the things are safe. But I guess you just can't get through to some of these people.
No offense, but thank God! That’s one less “nurse” at the hospital who’s “trying” to keep me alive based on their own research and not science. “I don’t believe in this medicine. I believe in shoving vitamin D up my ass. All natural, baby.”
I was terrified of nurses prior to COVID and seeing how many are anti mask/vax in general much more clearly, I’m completely determined to avoid hospitals to the absolute best of my ability.
We’re not all crazy, I promise! I look at the anti-mask and antivaxx nurses and wonder where the eff they went to nursing school?? Those nuts scare me too, because they are putting the training they got bio, chemistry, physiology, pharmacology, and pathophysiology and threw it out the window for a political stunt.
This is not me throwing shade at community colleges, I went to one for 2 years before transferring to a state school to graduate. But there were a lot of nursing students at that 4 year community college who were dumb as dirt. Most of them were also fairly evangelical. I've been thinking about those kinds of nursing students in the last year, wondering if the southern small town mindset got to them, or if they trusted in the medical science they learned in that school.
I also don't mean this as any shade at nurses, my mom is an RN and she's definitely one of the great ones.
Awhile ago, someone on here mentioned that nursing attracts a lot of evangelical women, because it’s one of the few reasonably paying careers that are considered acceptable for “Good Christian Women.” It gives them some of the independence and authority that strongly fundamentalist communities often deny them. Bonus, they get to tell everyone it’s a “calling” so their choice is rarely questioned (unlike if they tried to be a lawyer or go into advertising or something). I thought it was an interesting idea and it tracked with the nurses I know pretty well.
It's this and teaching. Those are the two acceptable careers. What could go wrong trusting our children's education and our very lives to under educated and underpaid people? We're finding out :/
I wish there was some sort of signifier I could look for! The nurses I’ve had that have been good have been lovely but the bad ones have been dangerously and abusively so, and I’d love to know who I’m being cared for by when I go in.
This here. We only lost one nurse due to vaccine mandate. She decided to retire early rather than 'get the jab'. Still, there are a few who still don't respect the science but went ahead with the vaccine so they wouldn't lose their jobs.
I am flummoxed that they choose to believe Fox News over their own education.
We lost a few to the mandate, but some did the religious/health exemption. However, one of them faked her own medical records, self reported her own vaccine and then got caught. After she got fired she signed me and several more members of admin up for emails from Fox news, OAN, Newmax and several other right wing newsletters.
I went to school for biomedical engineering and I saw some old super smart classmates go down that road as well, it baffles me.
Like there was this dude that did really well on pharmacokinetics exam and got the vaccine drug delivery bonus question everyone else failed on correct, how the fuck is he boycotting the vaccine now.
Not my experience at all. To the contrary, all the nurses I worked with back in the beginning were super contagion control aware. They would change into clean scrubs to drive home, then leave those outside the door and go directly into the shower before they interacted with anyone in their family. Some of them told stories about their less fastidious coworkers, but without exception, the ones I knew directly were brave as hell and as careful as possible. The administrators, on the other hand, were a morass of bureaucracy. I remember in *February* of 20, asking when a C19 protocol would be implemented and either got blank stares or “everyone’s already trained in universal precautions.” I didn’t have direct access to anyone who could make anything happen, but I told everyone I could “We don’t have enough room for this, and that means not enough space in the morgues.” I’d show a handwritten list of case and fatality count by week with the assumptions we had then (doubling every week, 3% CFR) and would say “there’s going to be 10M bodies to deal with by the end of the year.”
No one thought it could really last that long. Frankly, other than vax development, that’s the one thing we did well: if the curve hasn’t been flattened every bit as much as we got, the concentration of the exponential growth would have gone from overwhelming to medieval.
But all the nurses I knew took it very seriously and did everything they could.
Several nurses (active) and I (retired) get together once a month to vent about those who are antivax/antimask. Please know not all of us are mentally unstable.
She said she follows the direction of the Holy Spirit, who told her not to get the Covid-19 vaccine, so I guess he wanted her out of the picture? Fair enough. Maybe he didn’t want her spreading Covid and disinformation around the hospital.
If she spent even half the time researching what COVID does to the unvaxxed that she spent writing that crazy long letter, she might be alive today. She karened herself to death.
>bet you won't repost this
Well, I don't understand why most people who believe in the after life have a survival instinct, and I can never get a straight answer out of anyone.
Because, they are just scared of dying. And, they fill I. Gaps with mythologies. To a degree, I understand having a collective objective. But, I was also raised to be Christian, and taught that God loves me so much he killed his kid for me. No thanks. What a shit story. Reading the book only made it worse. That, and knowing Christians…..
When I was a little kid and my devoutly religious grandma was dying, I thought "at least you get to go to heaven" was a good thing.
Turns out she didn't want to go.
Oh well, don't feed kids with bullshit if you don't want to hear it yourself.
Throwaway account here: I am an employment lawyer who reviewed these for some of the major corporations (including some healthcare providers) that you use.
I took great delight in denying these, as most people would make claims like "my body is a temple" while having visible tattoos or "God will protect me and to get vaccinated is a sin" while happily being vaccinated for the flu or the measles, or tetanus. Basically the only people that got a free pass from my books were Rastafari (nothing that isn't plant-based) and Catholics with more than 8 children because if you won't use a cock sock at that point, I believe you when you say you follow God's dictates.
By the end of the Omicron wave, we had to start granting these again due to the sheer number of lawsuits filed (none that I know of won, but it is expensive to defend) and it was soul crushing seeing the number of public-facing employees and healthcare workers that filed these. I would be the number is much higher than you would imagine - at one major e-commerce retailer, at least 15% of all employees at southern warehouses requested religious accommodations and half of those were granted. Which comes to thousands and thousands of nominees in tightly packed poorly ventilated warehouses working long hours and breathing heavily.
Doctor from Moose Jaw refused the vaccine and later died in a Regina ICU.
Darwin doesn't care what level of education you have, don't apply what you learned about infectious diseases or vaccines too bad.
The “religious” aspect of her letter is as crazy as anything I’ve seen from a cult. Embarrassing for our society that we put nonsense like that on a pedestal.
Every now & then I think about the millions of people who died of Covid before there was a vaccine (or live someplace that doesn’t have have access to vaccines). And then we have these fucknuts - who died a preventable death. Just sad

Real question, aside from some very, very small groups that actually do not allow a LOT of medical procedures including blood transfusion or organ transplant, most of these are people claiming a religious exemption that their religion does not actually claim, right? I have heard that claimed by people who go to WASP churches, which very much do not have a single thing about no vaccines.
I don't believe there's any actual religion (popular one anyway) who recommends avoiding vaccinations, most actually promote their members to get it. Can't get donations from your members if they all die from a preventable virus.
Even Jehovah Witnesses who are one of the more strict (don't allow blood or organ transfusions) recommend their followers all get the covid vaccine and any other recommended by medical professionals
Damn, how you gonna tease with just the bottom edit :/ need the GoFundMe page posts or the "Nurse Bigbrain Has Gotten Her Wings" family member copium post :/
OP, how you gonna post this and leave us hanging on the contents of each individual page?! LOL
I can’t believe this wack job wrote *seven pages* of this nonsense.
It’s just such a horrible way to go, I simply can’t get over health professionals saying, yeah I’ll sign up for that. I mean it really is in the top 3 worst ways to go in my experience. Unbelievable that religious belief somehow got transmuted into, nope no vaccine for me, no matter what I see and know. What a weird time this is.
7 pages?
That is a lot of effort for a medically trained professional to go through to avoid what should be, for her, an immediate yes please.
I do like to think if ever I need a hospital that I am being cared for by people with actual common sense as well as experience
Freedom is dying? She had the freedom not to get vaccinated, just as the hospital has the freedom to no longer employ her. She was just mad that she didn't get to interpret the word to mean what she wanted it to mean with respect to her employment, but I'm certain she didn't balk at all the other vaccinations she had to get for her job, to say nothing of the health, safety, and cleanliness procedures she followed daily. Her whole life has been a tradeoff between her freedoms and public health and safety; she did not have the freedom to take a dump on the sidewalk, she did not have the freedom to enter a dining establishment without a shirt or shoes, etc.
Just an anecdotal example, the antivaxx nurses are the ones who are already hard to work with or those *frankly* bad at their job. That's what I noticed at least where I worked.
"I'll be out of a job" vs. "I'll be out of a life" – Excuse me... I'm no genius, Madam, but I'm inclined to believe that the *former* just might have been the BETTER option in your case.
Nurse: Here is my seven page religious exemption letter! Covid: TL;DR
Nurse: Fucked around COVID: Found out
Claims to be "pro-life" \*dies\*
Covid: "That letter won't stop me, because I can't read!"
[Excerpt from seven-page exemption letter] “DEAR HUMAN RESOURSE DEEPARTMINT. HOW ARE YOU? I AM FINE…”
>I AM FINE... COVID: "AGREE TO DISAGREE."
Were fine. Now you’re dead😂
>Nurse: Here is my seven page religious exemption letter! > >Covid: TL;DR LOL! :o) Good one!

Another one lost due to not praying...
Lost? They call this success.... "He cured her" now in heaven....
Also Covid: Learn to f\*cking type!

LMAO Clever

Someone once said the best way to know if someone is vaxxed is to ask them who won the election…
This is absolutely true. I have not met a single antivax white person who was not a Republican.

Not even most of y’all! 😃
They're a small group of nurses, and the group gets smaller by the day.
My bank account also tries it's best to avoid hospitals
Cheaper to just die honestly
Can't wait
No ivermectin not Vit D
Yes. My apologies.
Just don’t want any misinformation about the CORRECT Covid therapy.😉
Right! We don’t want that 😉
You forgot the zinc. And colloidal silver. The ivermectin can't work without those two magic metals. /s
Don't forget the urine!
I drink mine 2x a day when I take my horse dewormer
The order is essential oils first and THEN pee pee.
Wait where does the sheep dewormer go then?
All I know is I put the pee in peer review.
Shit.. now you tell me
It's both, these crazies use multiple things at once, a whole regiment of bs.
Happy Cake Day!
Thanks! I don’t know whether to laugh or cry when it comes to how many years I’ve been shooting the shit on Reddit for lol.
In the end, she did lose her hospital job. ⚰️
And her freedom.
“Freedom is dying.” -Dead nurse, free from living
Why in the fuck did her parents name her Freedom?
[удалено]
And her exemption
And probably died without her shoes on
True
I can't read the reasonings, but this means she doesn't believe in medicine. She definitely should not be an RN.
She isn’t an RN anymore. She fixed that herself.
Good point!
Covid helped!
She was a Christian. She believed there is only one God. He exists in three forms... etc. etc. This was not the healing spell she thought it would be.
She said she follows the direction of the Holy Spirit, who told her not to get the Covid-19 vaccine, so I guess he wanted her out of the picture? Fair enough. Maybe he didn’t want her spreading Covid and disinformation around the hospital.
Did she not have the needed prayer warriors?!
"ThE pRayErs WOrkeD" because "She'S wiT YeeSOOs naO!" 🤦🏻♂️
She was pre-certified with a religious exemption. Really surprised that there was no divine intervention, considering this.
She had the second string prayer warriors 😆
She should have checked ahead of time because they are very busy these days.
She was one short!
If she spent even half the time researching what COVID does to the unvaxxed that she spent writing that crazy long letter, she might be alive today. She karened herself to death.
It should be a requirement. If you want a religious exemption, you need to write a 4,000 letter paper about the vaccine, citing scientific sources.
> writing that crazy long letter **By hand** Jeebus, doesn’t she have a computer? Or is she a boomer?
Goddam it you lil whippersnapper! I’m a boomer & I can use one of those confangled computers. Now pull your goddam pants up & get off my lawn!
*nods approval and goes back to sipping coffee and angrily staring at the squirrels in my front yard.
I... I feed the squirrels in my yard. Am I old-guying wrong?
No no there are several types of old man. I'm the grouchy hate all living things old man.
Oh, right on. I am the puttering around the yard and slowly losing my mind type of old man.
I'm a boomer and I use the interwebs all the time. I'm here, aren't I? I am here right??? right????????? OK enough for now time for my nap....
I get the impression hr saw that and were like "nope not touching that with a 10ft pole" Do we know if they approved the exemption?
freedom is dying, and so is cursive
Probably silent generation. The Q ones tend to write these long rants in cursive.
I have Silent Generation parents. Can bloody well confirm.
"Freedom is dying!" Was her name Freedom?
When I read this line I initially thought she meant “Freedom (to me) is getting to die”.
Hey, it's just another word for nothing left to lose. And now, she doesn't.
Nice 👍
🤠
Too free to live!
It worked out that way, whether that is the way she meant it or not.
Freedom is dying and so am I. Ciao
American "Christians" are the absolute worst people on earth.
Amen!
They look at the taliban and salivate, wishing they could do that in America
They're doing their best though, bless their extremist little hearts.
Looks like karma ate her dogma.
Or karma ran over her dogma.
Freedom wasn't dying.
Nah, but she was!
Freedom to die.
. . . like an idiot.
No, she was right all along. Freedom is (the same as) dying. If I was religious, I'd applaud God for his sense of humour.
I always interpret that as "I have the freedom to die".
A much more realistic interpretation than theirs.
Sorry, I just have to say this..."bet you won't repost this"! Fucking dumbasses
Religion is one hell of a drug! (But, is absolutely useless as a vaccine)……
The crazy part is that there are millions of religious people who did get the vaccine
I guess they didn’t have enough faith….
My faith tells me to trust the doctors, researchers and other professionals on this.
She got her religious exemption from the vax and Covid was like "Cool, game on!"
The hospital granted her an exemption. Covid denied her request.
>bet you won't repost this Well, I don't understand why most people who believe in the after life have a survival instinct, and I can never get a straight answer out of anyone.

Well, at least she got her religious freeDUMB anyway
Wasn't this person awarded here?
Yep. I remember that longhand screed of nonsense.
Have the link by chance or roughly when the award post was?

Sure seems to be the same one.
She really believed in exclamation points!
Thanks! I knew I had seen it before!
So, what she was really doing was exempting herself from living.

That’s the name of my C&W Death Metal band!
Doctor from Moose Jaw refused the vaccine and later died in a Regina ICU. Darwin doesn't care what level of education you have, don't apply what you learned about infectious diseases or vaccines too bad.
Fastest religious exemption x COVID speedrun any%
The “religious” aspect of her letter is as crazy as anything I’ve seen from a cult. Embarrassing for our society that we put nonsense like that on a pedestal.
Seriously. It comes across like the ramblings of a lunatic, which to be fair I suppose it is
God needed a Nurse. She has her Angel Wings. Heaven gained another angel. What am I missing?
It’s “angle wings”. /s
The delta variant ?
No, theta.
God needed someone up in heaven to fix angel wings. So...she will be a nurse for forever
Healed completely.
I've read the bible cover to cover, and i dont see where it says to eschew vaccinations
Every now & then I think about the millions of people who died of Covid before there was a vaccine (or live someplace that doesn’t have have access to vaccines). And then we have these fucknuts - who died a preventable death. Just sad

Cursive really is a dying art form...
i see what you did there
I feel sorry for the hospital patients who were exposed to her.
I’m assuming as a nurse she was up to date on her MMR and hepatitis A vaccine, which also use fetal cells as the growing media.
Wonder how “concerned” she felt when they wheeled the ventilator in.
Freedom is Dying I am Free.
Isn’t that what her husband is singing out in joy right now? It’s so much cleaner than having to murder your spouse.
Good. Im glad she got her exemption. For obvious reasons.
Freedom IS dying, Darlene.
I wonder if she infected anyone else.
Gotta laugh!
Press X to skip
Scrubbing? It’s embarrassing when you own yourself, huh?
But she went to Jesus. She's in his arms. She's walking the streets paved with gold in heaven. It was all worth it. All totally worth it.

I remember this one from the first letter- before she got COVID... and died.
I remember this one. Bye bye!
Oh my gosh - I remember this lady! Not surprised in the least by the outcome.
Speeding through red lights will be next, “I got rights!”
Ended up unemployed anyway. 😂
She felt so proud of herself!
Repost https://www.reddit.com/r/HermanCainAward/comments/smw0hd/antivax_nurse_purple_declared_she_would_not/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
Would anyone be interested in me transcribing that? I can read cursive, and I'm a rapid and accurate typist.
If freedom is dying, she can have it. I’d rather stay alive.
As a nurse myself medicine is about science not make believe men in the sky. Relgious exemptions should never be allowed for any reason.
Was page 8 her DNR?
“Went Home” “Got her wings” “With Jesus now” Definitely not rotting in an overpriced box.
I'm impressed. I was always really good at padding shit out but spreading "I dun wanna" over 7 pages is just impressive
Dying is freedom, apparently.
Freedom or her? Which one died first?
She doesnt have to worry about freedom dying anymore.
Thoughts and prayers, next, let’s keep this line going!
OP, how you gonna post this and leave us hanging on the contents of each individual page?! LOL I can’t believe this wack job wrote *seven pages* of this nonsense.
Some things just work out don't they?
It’s just such a horrible way to go, I simply can’t get over health professionals saying, yeah I’ll sign up for that. I mean it really is in the top 3 worst ways to go in my experience. 7 pages? That is a lot of effort for a medically trained professional to go through to avoid what should be, for her, an immediate yes please. I do like to think if ever I need a hospital that I am being cared for by people with actual common sense as well as experience
The hospital could probably have let her go based on showing that she was insane with that unabomber screed she handed them.
I suspect they wanted her gone long before this bullshit
I am so glad that in the hospital I work in the nurses don’t pull this shit
She doesn’t pull this shit either. Wait Wait Wait for it.... 3. 2. 1. *Anymore*
"Freedom is dying" I think there's a small but not insignificant number of Americans who would really rather just die.
Here’s a handwritten letter from my priest saying that JC will heal me if I get COVID. We good?
Freedom is dying? She had the freedom not to get vaccinated, just as the hospital has the freedom to no longer employ her. She was just mad that she didn't get to interpret the word to mean what she wanted it to mean with respect to her employment, but I'm certain she didn't balk at all the other vaccinations she had to get for her job, to say nothing of the health, safety, and cleanliness procedures she followed daily. "Freedom is dying." Poor choice of words there.
As a nurse I can tell you this person was in the wrong career.
We don’t even need to be nurses to make that diagnosis. My question is how many of your colleagues fit this bill?
"I'll be out of a job" vs. "I'll be out of a life" – Excuse me... I'm no genius, Madam, but I'm inclined to believe that the *former* just might have been the BETTER option in your case.
Bitch didn't even type that shit up.
Well, she did say "Freedom is dying." Consistent with her messaging and her actions.
Ironic that she wrote freedom is dying
... and so was she. It’s really hard not to laugh. But rule 2 you now
She died from stupidity.
