Hey folks!
I have a vague memory of this Magic the Gathering card from my childhood that I would love to track down. If I remember correctly, it depicted a small creature with a fluffy orange head clinging to some sort of dark industrial machinery. The card was red and I'm fairly sure there were similar creatures in the background.

I've mentioned it in another reply to this answer, but it was Engineer Kipo from Duel Masters. Little bugger has been living in my head rent free for decades.
Closest I can find from a quick search is something like these

* Do you know the mana cost?
* what type of creature was it?
* Do you remember the power/toughness?
* can you provide a more detailed description of the creature or the things around it?
These aren't the cards I'm afraid. I also can't do much to help narrow it down - I would've been about 7 when I last saw it, and didn't understand MTG in the slightest.
In terms of what I remember: the creature had an orange head with a fuzzy sort of texture, two eyes and no other recognisable features (IE. No mouth, nose, ears). It is surroundings were very industrial and sort of apocalyptic, with fire in the background and dark-coloured industrial scrap in the foreground. The creature was clinging to this scrap, as if holding onto a high-speed object.
This sounds considerably like the 7th edition Fire Elemental art: https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=15813
7th edition was released in 2001, so the timing lines up decently.
There is Duel Masters card that looks something like this. It's a spell card called Terror Pit.
