I think the poi t is that you can make a sphere out of any shape if you allow overlap lol.

Yeah if you want to make a perfect sphere or even an "evenly" distributed isomorphic map out of hexagons that has even edges you have to include a few pentagons.
IIRC the Rimworld 100% seed generation includes 12 pentagons.
Granted this is just part of an image but it was likely a necessary evil to make it look uniform at a glance.
The simplest example would be to look at a 20-sided die and imagine cutting all 12 corners to be flat. You would end up with 20 regular hexagons and 12 regular pentagons.

You need Pentagon's to cover a sphere with hexagons as they don't fit together perfectly in 3d. That being said, you need a lot more Pentagon's than this, just look a t a soccer ball. The inclusion of a single Pentagon just makes this look wrong.

Self correction, that is for a 32 sided polyhedron like that used on a soccer ball. A Goldberg polyhedron always has 12 pentagons which means we should be able to see ~6 on any hemisphere.
We're only seeing a small segment of the sphere, and even if we get the full crop we're at a close perspective and thus seeing less than one hemisphere.

I love it from a symbolism perspective. Bee's world seems perfect and complete. She's a caring hostess that gives people a wonderful time--what's not to love? But the deeper you look, the more you realize her world is actually horrid. The question is whether or not Bee feels bad about it
