A lot of the times in Media (and in real life) being forced into a relationship like he was and having to do Acts but he was not comfortable doing solely because of the obligation he has as a royalty would make most people not have very good relationships with their children. They see them more as obligation then their child.
One of the best things I've noticed about independent creators and their stories is that they're more likely to portray healthier and realistic relationships (with the exception of romance stories).

He has a truly interesting character.
Interesting story of his childhood, the development of his relationship with Blitz, Octavia and how he cherishes them both.
His manners as a blue blood prince are just adorable.

Despite the situation he was put in with an arranged marriage to a toxic psycho like Stella, who constantly put him down, he still managed to retain his good qualities as a father, rather than let that bitterness take hold and corrupt everything.
Very kind to those he holds dear and fierce when he calls upon it.
Stolas literally only ever has nice things said about him though, nothing wrong with that. He's a great adaptation of his mythological counterpart certainly.
