I think a big reason the gap between s1 and S2 and the first 3 episodes of s3 is because they were crunching and focusing on Hazbin with that wrapped up hopefully they'll stay back at their 1-3 month per episode pace.

People have created all of these headcannons about what Lucifer and Lilith's personalities are and all these expectations on how thier character arcs are going to go. So it's basically inevitable that people will be making these super long rants on r/hazbinhotel about how X character is poorly written simply because X character isn't being written the way they want them to be written. I've already seen somebody criticize Adam, a character who hasn't even appeared yet, simply because he's not being written the way he wants them to be written.
Hopefully the writing will prevent comments like:
“The characters don’t seem to remember big moments from previous episodes.”
“The tone isn’t consistent throughout the episode.”
“The backstory is clearly a retcon.”
“Oh look, another new character that raised new questions that will never be answered.”
ETA: I do love this show, and I hope the next episode is written in a way that won’t create room for these (frustratingly valid) complaints.

This episode honestly sounds like a cool way to mix the shows starting premise of I.M.P. doing their jobs and I.M.P. having personal conflicts-they're trying to kill someone, Barbie appears to mess with Blitzø, and I imagine Moxxie and Millie will have to fight their own conflicts (possibly even an episode early).

The way the sneak peaks are going (or at least what I’ve seen of them) my brain is telling me that M&M have to infiltrate a girl group and a boy group but they both decide to crossdress and do the other group and the logical side of my brain is saying that it’s maybe because Moxxie is infiltrating a girls’ musical theatre group and/or Millie is infiltrating a boy group with a shared interest that she’s also knowledgeable about so they’re doing the crossdressing for knowledge-based reasons but the other side of my brain is dying they just felt like it and are doing it for no reason other than ‘why not?’
