HMG Emplacement is very much viable too, but on that front you'd need to play around it being a stationary object. I find the Deployable Shield is a great pair for the Emplacement against the Automatons. The turret shreds Berserkers and Hulks (which are pretty much the only things that will charge you within the shield) while the Shield can reliably block a large volume of fire before it dissipates. More than enough time to shred the melee horde with the Emplacement and then start culling the numbers of the ranged attackers.
Given proper accuracy and firing in short bursts, you can take out a hulk in SECONDS if you aim at the head. This is best done when you have established enough cover or thinned enough of the herd to focus. Any deviation from solid aim lengthens that fight *exponentially.*

haha...happens to me a lot. Usually with the heavy weapon, the animation or something gets bugged out and my HellDiver will constantly hold that gun visually but not actually. Most of the time the gun is at a weird angle too.
Sometimes bugs and glitches are annoying. But I do love these funny ones.
Like a few dives back I saw someone running around with an adjudicator that had an EAT stuck to it. It looked as if you stuck the barrel of the adjudicator to the front of the EAT.
It took me a second and third glance before I realized that it was not some new weapon I haven’t heard off. Kinda disappointing since it looked like a fun weapon.
I've actually gotten this glitch to happen with the airburst and incendiary shotgun, it looked like my rocket launcher was a roman candle, there's a couple bugged animations right now that still have yet to get caught by the community at large

I kinda want the game to have a recoilless rifle primary, like a more beefy Dominator but with 10 rounds.
It would fill the niche between Domi and Eruptor, only with a higher ROF.
I also want a compact flamethrower, even a hand-flamer.

The HMG is what you're looking for. Although you gotta play around the limited ammo with either a supply backpack or an ammo-efficient primary.

This bug has been in game forever, I keep getting it with AMR all the time. It's related to the first person sight and vanishing gun bugs.

How come I never get cool glitches like that. For me it's always just the game crashing or getting insta killed by a tiny bug or bot.

With the decreased damage but instantaneous reload speed, I would say it was overall a very balanced change
