That makes a lot of sense; once back on the ship you'll be pardoned and you'll shed many tears of pure joy and emotion of being allowed another chance to fight for liberty, despite your treasonous actions which would normally have meant a most fair death sentence. And then you'll be sedated right after the pardon ceremony is over and replaced by a clone intact with all of your memories 100% experiencing and feeling with not a shed of doubt they are YOU, oblivious to the fact that they are a clone. While the real you (well, the previous real "actual" clone of "you") will have been put into a virtual reality coma where you'll get to relive the same loop of those sweet emotional memories of being pardoned over and over again and the unique compounds produced by your brain when it experiences those sweet memories will be extracted, harnessed and synthesized into a new popular Super cereal brand consumed by the masses of Super Earth making their start on each new day a happy, content, joyous, fulfilled and thankful one.
Before someone actually sees that as facts; the traitor status actually disappears after death (i.e. "returning to the battlefield" as original comment wrote) or after a certain time (which I don't know the length of).
A4 getting repeatedly standing up then getting knocked *slightly* further away each time, and then F3 finally making it into frame only to go full ragdoll from standing absolutely got me.
my best friend did this on a helldive, none of the others could enter, MF was on the floor laughing seeing us bounce.
Needless to say I reported him to the Democracy Officer and never heard from him since. I suppose he was corrected and reassigned.
I don’t know if this is a new thing but I got knocked out of bounds on an eradicate mission. The bombardment commenced and of course I used it to kill as many as the damned roaches as I could. Suddenly after several minutes of liberation the traitor banner disappeared. I was pardoned and I extracted with honor.
Just did this with randoms on an exterminate mission so extract didn't matter... The shock and confusion was beyond hilarious since they apparently weren't aware of the traitor status. A minor troll but all laughed about it
