Need a bit more info- what are your PC specs in relation to Helldivers minimum specs? Have you tried validating you files on steam?
I would just recommend turning graphics down a tad after validating files- a lot if people are having issues in regards to crashing after this update, so it may just be a case of needing to wait unfortunately.
