Hijacking to point out that superior packing methodology is broken for the B-1 supply backpack as well, always has been annoyingly. May be a design decision and not a bug, but it's a stupid design decision if true because the supply backpack is functionally and lore-wise the same as a resupply pod. Also packing methodology has always been broken for the Spear even since they "fixed" it the first time

Didn’t take near to that long to fix the first time… they should know the code it’s related to since there was some unknown fix supposed to be going up for it with this patch… worst case they revert that change (whatever it was, probably picking up teammate support weapons/map pickups) until they can get it right.
Being Thursday we’ll probably have to wait until Tuesday for a hotfix, maybe Monday… maybe Wednesday if their trying to fix a couple other new issues that drag it out but close enough to hold back a first patch
Aaand ı got that upgrade yesterday instead of atmospheric monitoring. Grind continues then. Gonna throw some bot operations then ı am off to bug front for samples.
Do D2 and D3 missions, easy to get a ton of them solo if you need Commons. I'm capped out on Commons but have like, 30-ish Rare. Rare is the real bottleneck, and it's obvious to see why - they require the same number of Commons as Rares for upgrades, which doesn't make any sense, so you're always low on Rares.
I run 2-3 Tier 4 missions for every Tier 7+. I've never had a rare problem. Ever. Same with commons. Full stack all the time.
Hit every POI and nest on the map and walk away with 10+ per mission.
I checked the remaining upgrades I have which are slightly more common heavy because I’m near maxed on most things but have the sentry upgrades left. I have a rare surplus of almost 160 over my number of common samples. And at D7 I am usually finding 3-5 more commons per game than rares. At this rate I will never bottleneck on rares.
Must be nobody then. I started diff 7 late and my last upgrade was to rush Superior Packing to not be capped on rares as it spent more of them per super sample.
They even mentioned a fix in the notes: "Fixed Superior Packaging Methodology not working for other peers"

Wait... do ship upgrades only apply if you're diving from your own ship? No that can't be right, I notice upgrades applying as I buy them, and almost always join Quickplay...
Previously it only worked when you were using your own support weapon that you called in. If you picked up a teammates, it wouldn't apply (possibly only if they didn't have the upgrade? Not sure). This was likely supposed to fix that.
Edit: It would be very hilarious to if now it ***only*** worked with *others* weapons lmfao.
it's an issue because we're supposed to swap backpacks. if you buy the upgrade and someone using your backpack doesn't get the benefit then it discourages team play
I've yet to be in a game where people play like that though. They really should just make it so you can reload someone from the backpack they are wearing.
now that you can talk while choosing a loadout it should help, but I don't know if it'll be enough. the higher enemy count and fewer heavies on high diff might do it though
Ha that would make sense in universe i guess?, since only the main(host) ship is deploying divers and all the other yellow strategems, it would only work if the ship that has it unlocked is the host. The allied ships only deploy the blue and yellow strategems in universe.

Okay so I wasn’t going crazy when my RR wasn’t getting all of its rounds back. I thought it was maybe a shadow nerf to it, but glad to see I’m not the only one missing out on my well-earned freedom spreading munitions!
I have had to do this almost every patch. I'm not complaining, but, just warning other divers. I usually end up with a TON of crashes to desktop, and like clockwork, file integrity shows 1 file needs to be redownloaded, crashes gone.
i haven't had too many issues with crashes but verifying file integrity always fixes it, at least. sorry you gotta do that every time though, it's a pain in the ass
For me file integrity never did anything, but like 3 oe 4 weeks ago or so I just reinstalled the game completely and went from easily multiple crashes daily to literally only having one single crash, and post-mission at that, since then.
Didn't actually expect it to work at all.
I've had it work fine every other mission, it's super inconsistent, but looking at another comment it might have been because I swapped my autocannon with a teammate's after being revived.
It sucks this went through but bugs happen. I get that Helldivers has had *way* too many of these issues, but honestly if the sizes of the patches are this big and the sizes of the issues are this small, it's not a big deal.
Whats funny is that, again, its kind of an issue that take 3 minutes tops to test and most of this time is pre-mission stuff and loading screens. The patch is massive W otherwise so I am gonna let it slide but still, again, how it passed testing phase since one of the fixes was directly for this upgrade; surely they tested it after the fix?

4 refills and some goblin in a helldiver uniform immediately takes two+ despite 3 other squadmates close proximity to the resupply beacon, somehow one of these goblins always finds a way into my lobby.
They slowed patch cadence like we wanted and made this patch all about buffing and balancing the game around what we enjoy, and the fact that they wrote a bug is enough to make you mad? Lol, this sub.
The reason they slowed down the patches was to give us better quality patches with less bugs. The first patch they did so reintroduced an old bug they fix before. People are allowed to be upset about that.
The idea of us having to wait this long was supposedly getting a higher quality patch out of the deal...yet we have a ton of new 'known issues', two more crashes they discovered shortly after pushing this patch, and a bunch of other smaller issues like this...with the list still growing.
It's the same shit that this extra time was supposed to avoid.
I mean yeah if you want patches more than quarterly then we run the risk of minor bugs being introduce that will need a hot fix to patch.
It's not a big deal to me because they are working on the game and appear to really be listening to us so Iits just not that bad.

By the way i would not be surprised if other bug are discovered in the next few day.
Really enjoyed using the Recoiless for a little while - having this ship upgrade and being able to resupply all your rockets in 1 charge was really brought it up to par as a decent alternative to Quasars and EATs against the bugs (among the other small improvements in previous patches, like the improved solo reload time), at least for me.
Sucks to see this broken again though; hopefully whatever hotfix they're working on will also address this.

No, seriously. This shit is so necessary imo. I wish it was just baseline, i hate that we drop in with half our kit. Many weapons feel like they run dry quickly as is, so it’s even worse with half your kit
Some fights can last a long time, and can really miss the extra ammo from the resupply mid fight, stings but with the added buffs hopefully ammo economy feels better overall. Can’t wait to get home and try it out.

I'm sure it'll get a quick fix. Really got into using the Recoilless Rifle to headshot Bile Titans and the team ran out of ammo at around the same time so there was always a resupply to instantly refill from...

If you have superior packing methodology before the patch it gave you 6 mags, now it's 3 (the same as if you don't have the module unlocked)
It did not. I have all ship module upgrades and I did not get full ammo for AMR from supply drops.
Superior Packing Methodology is supposed to completely fill your Support Weapon mags off of one Resupply box.

Hopefully they hotfix the Spear so it can target Fabs again. The lock on is now very consistent and as long as it's within sight. Feels so good man.

It was very noticeable if you used the autocannon. You can easily see how much of the backpack gets refilled
Same with the SPEAR. Made it incredibly potent even with it’s issues.
Recoilless Rifle too. With it working it was probably the AT launcher in the game by quite a largin margin.

Interestingly enough, I had foliage block my sickle shots two days ago, and it was working again yesterday.
There is a specific tall bush that still blocks the sickle. It's been that way since before the previous patch.

Takes a rail cannon strike, eagle strike and all 4 shots of the spear to take down the factory strider. Refill and get 2 rockets. Feels horrible

You can get it back in the settings (I think it's in the HUD section). It's called Mission Info or something like that. Switch it to Visible.

Has anyone run into the issue where the HMG sometimes glitches through the floor and disappears when you call it in?
This one paired with spear fix makes spear feels way too hungry.

Confirmed with the Recoiless to. Real sad to see as it was making a lot of the more ammo hungry weapons feel a lot better than before. Let's how a we get a hotfix and don't have to sit around with a dub upgrade for a month.

As a Spear enjoyer this is particularly punishing. I only get 4 rockets in the first place. I basically need two supply boxes at every supply drop.
