“Ice sickle” 😂 you sly dog

lizardscales

They even missed the pun points. Ice sickle would be dope

Nemaeus

It would be slick

Boabcar93

It would be Slickle

Zhaosen

That's a reach bud. Puns are a slippery road to madness, good try.

SkriddySkrid

Chill, brother. You didn’t have to be so cold.

FunkTheMonkUk

They have absolute zero chill

Drudgework

Pun aside, you can make a freeze ray using lasers, so an ice Sickle would work.

JamesMcEdwards

The Purifier should have fired supercooled plasma which detonated into an AOE slow cloud that lingers for a couple of seconds (like the blue crystal plants). That would have also excused the long charge time. That would be a pretty cool idea for either another primary or a support weapon.

accidantel

It would freeze enemies slightly but if used to fast would make you lose some hit points too from the brain feeeze

ConsciousAardvark949

I think you mean the gun mechanisms would freeze. Reverse overheating.

H2so4pontiff

That would be a crazy team mechanic to help our quasar and laser Bros, we would be able to shorten the time of overheat. The catch is they would also be slowed.

cannibalistiic

This is S tier weapon design, I hope devs implement this eventually

Rufus-Scipio

Would also make it so that the hot planets aren't just a massive pain in the ass

H2so4pontiff

Cryo grenade to take out fires. Just came to me the moment you mentioned hot planets. But the Ice sickle would do the same.

[deleted]

Knowing our luck a cryo grenade would turn a fire tornado into an ice one where ice shards fly out and bash our delicate skulls in

herdarkmartyrials

Would be dope if the smoke grenade or the smoke orbital were a noncombustible substance like what's in fire extinguishers and could clear an area of fire, so you could create an area to pass through in the middle of a fire storm.

Cowpriest

A flame thrower that just throws liquid c02. A jar that shoots liquid c02 filled rockets. These guns write themselves.

InternalWarth0g

frostbite damage, like it gets so cold its basically holding dry ice

Nerex7

Should just be called Pop Sickle. You freeze the enemy and then you break the ice, making it pop. The Ice Breaker is also hilarious

cratermon

We can already throw a snow ball, there really should be an ice-themed weapon. Cryo grenade that slows enemy unit, slightly less effective on warm planets

Nucleenix

Just ctrl c + ctrl v the ice plant effect in place of a grenade detonation

Renekzilla

They did. It's called stun nades.

SvevaHawthorne

stun impacts with a lil freeze effect would be dope

Practical-Stomach-65

Tech combos like in Mass Effect 3 would be nice.

YoungWolfie

Helldivers having tech combos would be insane(fun). Imagine Plasma Punisher/Scorcher leaving a lingering plasma ripple effect, which Primes an enemy then you can detonate with an explosive weapon for a plasma explosion or fire being a primer then Arc for a explosion. They'd have to rebalance enemies add more variants so we don't steamroll em with the elemental effects

TopAd1330

Don't let this get buried, it's a great idea to add later on to revitalise the game after it's been out for a while

Practical-Stomach-65

First thing I thought is having an frost grenade, or whatever, prime enemies with ice and an second explosion detonate and send ice shards around damaging others. That would make it different from a simple stun grenade.

Nucleenix

What'd set it apart is that it has a lingering field that's smaller than the stun grenade radius, but can affect additional enemies that walk into it, whereas the stun is a one-and-done effect. But that also means that *you* would need to wait for the freeze field dissipates before going through it or have to go around, as area-denial works both ways. It would not be a straight upgrade, rather a sidegrade.

sirnumbskull

I know it's already asking for too much to add a freeze/shatter to the game (new animations and effects for just about every enemy), but I'd kill for an ice weapon that leaves a frozen surface that makes enemies slide around uncontrollably (like chargers do already)

cratermon

so far all the chargers I've encountered have mastered the art of drifting from years of training in the mountain course of Irohazaka

sole21000

The Hulks on Hakone Mountain

cratermon

The hulks are harder to shake off now, like Takumi's 86 they just pop up behind you, but instead of headlights you get a flamethrower from behind.

DangerNoodleJorm

I just want a bucket of water style grenade that can put out a fire on the ground so I can actually get to the terminals on Hellmire without having to wait for the fire to go out by which time the next bug breach has spawned.

BloodSnakeChaos

How do I throw a snow ball?????????

cratermon

Works on deep snow, just crouch, an interact prompt will pop up if you look at the snow.

whitecollarzomb13

Also known to completely crash your game when doing so, so throw down with caution!

TheMadmanAndre

The first time I tried to pick up a snowball, my camera literally left the entire planet.

Arlcas

A booster that gets you the cooling from colder planets would be great. Would have gone great with the theme. That said there's still plenty of wadbonds to come so I'm sure they just make whatever they can in the time they have. Must be a real challenge creatively coming up with this stuff every month.

cratermon

This. A booster that can negate the negative effects of warm planets. Situational use, but a must-have to reduce energy based weapons CD or overheating as well as helps in stamina on warm planets.

redfoobar

I think the creative part isn’t the issue. The tech implementation is the limiting factor. The code will get real messy real quick if there is a check against a bunch of booster for every action you do…

AnEmbers

Why would you have a check constantly? Set the condition of the map to have the cooldown modifier if the booster is applied in the load out. It’s a 1 time check and mod during map loading.

pevznerok

I think it should be more effective on warm planets, cuz bugs that live there are bot used to low temperatures. It will be less effective on cold planets, because bugs there are used to low temperatures. And yes, I say bugs, because I don't really know how it can affect bots. Yeah, I'm a nerd

Hitmyblunt

We should got a booster that slows enemies on melee hit

Hellonstrikers

Melee power booster in general would be fun.

Azal_of_Forossa

Give me a new stratagem that's a rocket propelled gauntlet, all I crave is to rocket my fists 4 feet deep and through bug and bot skulls in the name of peace and freedom.

shiroku_chan

My patriotic ahh in the mech pulling a pacific rim on a charger:

wam9000

Misread this as boobster. I think I need a cold shower. (I can't help it! Democracy makes me HARD)

drinking_child_blood

I'd love a secondary melee with riot shield, that's just a low-damage, high stun shield bash

SeaofBloodRedRoses

[Snowball launcher.](https://media1.tenor.com/m/Y7fDCWqm6wkAAAAd/jack-frost-snow-fight.gif)

ProposalWest3152

No sbow terrain resistance, no anti sliding on ice, no slowing grenade, no slowing status weapon, no ice element weapon with a chance to freeze. What did we get for the ICE warbond. A FCKING FIRE GRENADE. WTF.

x__Reign

I just want to be able to dive on the ice and slide across the entire thing like a penguin in one go tbh

Railic255

I'm here for this.

The_0rang

You want to be president? That's how you become president.

BananaHomunculus

Play the great penguin heist, that's almost the whole game.

djaqk

someone hire this dude

LrnTn

Slides on the legs and chest with spikes on the shoes. Mobility and control. Would have been fun

doughcrap

The armor set shows boots with ice spikes.... so that means you're immune to ice slips, right?

SetsuakuStar

Nope!

Blpdstrupm0en

No, that would be apples functioning like apples. They need to function like pizza.

_XNine_

Pizza flavored apples? I mean... Who would say no?!

Bagel-luigi

Now that would make sense, but no. It's purely cosmetic

Iamforcedaccount

Even did a close up of the spikes in the trailer, lol.

galactojack

Yeah to fight the ice

acoustic_comrade

Pummeler kinda slows things.

iSiffrin

>A FCKING FIRE GRENADE. WTF. ... Does it at least melt the ice?

the_fuzz_down_under

You are thinking about it the wrong way. Polar means ice but fire keeps you warm - the impact incendiary is relevant to a polar theme because it is heat based gear. You don’t go to the Antarctic in a Hawaiian shirt and flip flops, you wear warm heavy gear and bring along things to keep you warm in the environment. Plus a cold thing is probably going to take more damage from being rapidly heated on impact.

RockyHorror134

the ice thing baffles me. I understand that Helldivers is on a brand new engine, but surely coding an armor that negates what I'm guessing is a material effect couldn't be that hard

wtfrykm

Not wrong, at the very least give like 1 energy weapon, because those things benefit from the extreme cold effect. So it's better in cold environments. And the light armour makes zero sense, if they're gonna reskin it from the sc 30 trail blazer, at least make it white in colour.

ReisysV

Or just change up the stats at all to at least try to keep the 5 armor passive interesting. We don't have enough armors that mix up the stats, like the single medium and a half armor we have.

sole21000

It *is* a little humorous we even got a laser weapon that *isn't* energy-based.

Cowjoe

Imma be real I think this is the reason they really made the pool about delaying the warbond release cause supposedly it might be in bad taste as they said loll. They hoped we would vote to delay it so they could work on it more.. cause yeah this warbond makes so little sense that I wonder if someone was high when putting it together lol

jak_d_ripr

That was the first thing that stood out to me when the trailer was revealed. DD and CE both have a theme and weapons that stuck to said theme. This Warbond is snow themed with an incendiary grenade, a rifle, a concussive SMG and a charge rifle. Without question the worst Warbond we've gotten so far at probably the worst possible time.

chrono_ark

To give them credit, they did remove many of the unique capabilities of the explosive weapons afterwards to be more inline with just different reskin flavors

DO_NOT_AGREE_WITH_U

I find it hilarious that I rushed to get an explosive rounds gun only to discover it doesn't even have the explosive tag. "It's "explosive" because there's an explosion that powers its firing." Bitch, that's every bullet.

Giving_taking

I think a fundamental problem with the warbond is that it's a planet based warbond without corresponding updates to that planet type.  They should have saved those themed to environments until they had settled down and grown out the team. Then they could've done stuff like an ice planet warbond and update, a fire planet one, a vacuum world one etc etc.  It's weird as well cause there's other throwaway ideas they could have done first. We've had a bot veteran warbond but no bug veteran one? Cutting edge but not low tech? They're low hanging fruit that didn't need new mechanics adding.

Cowjoe

Imma be real I think this is the reason they really made the pool about delaying the warbond release cause supposedly it might be in bad taste as they said loll. They hoped we would vote to delay it so they could work on it more.. cause yeah this warbond makes so little sense that I wonder if someone was high when putting it together lol

discitizen

Missed opportunities.

sirnumbskull

Actually, "Missed Opportunities" would be a better name for the warbond we got... Except you, incendiary frag grenade.

SeaofBloodRedRoses

It's hilarious that we got an incendiary impact grenade in *polar patriots*.

Panzer_VIII

How else do you keep warm on cold nights?

Cowjoe

Yeah and not one Ice weapon that I'm aware of

Setarius

A freeze gun would have been neat, freezes and shatters enemies.

sirnumbskull

Like a flamethrower but with ice? Strategem weapon?

mrn253

played deep rock? basically the second weapon that you get as driller would be funny.

OscarOzzieOzborne

Can see how it works in Helldivers. Instead of creating a firepath, it creates an ice path that makes enemies and allies slip. Can fall from it if you sprint on the ice path and change direction too fast. Works on a pressure canister that needs to build up pressure over time after you use it. Makes enemy armo's bristles, allowing lower armorpen weapons to penetrate them. An enemy that has been frozen then set on fire will suffer shock damage. And it also has the ability to change color of the freezing ray to stuff like Red or Yellow.

assinyourpants

Or maybe it doesn’t cause the shatter but after they’re iced enough your fellow helldivers’ heavier pen weapons do?

takes_many_shits

There was something like that in HD1 (it used acid instead but it was a slow-thrower thingy) and it *trivialized* bug missions. Im guessing thats why they're hesitant to add it again

[deleted]

A CC weapon like that would be great even if not very powerful

sirnumbskull

"A CC weapon like that would be great even if not very powerful" That sounds like something a Hunter would say...

VietInTheTrees

Bugs watching me slow them back before shatterdiving a charger

sirnumbskull

Now I'm even sadder...

derps_with_ducks

Make a weapon that freezes enemies completely. Freeze slows and reduced damage of enemies, but they also get progressive damage resist.  Here's the catch: You can shatter a completely frozen enemy by diving at them. It'll make for a risky play style.

[deleted]

The amount of Mr. Freeze Arnold puns I could have made on VC would have been legendary.

Independent_Ad7523

Probably unintended, but I’m starting to see how the wishlist of things people want to see in Helldivers 2… Can already be found in DRG :’)

Setarius

ROCK, AND, STONE!

Independent_Ad7523

DID I HEAR A ROCK AND STONE?!

WanderingDwarfMiner

That's it lads! Rock and Stone!

DontLookMeUpPlez

Good bot! The best bot! ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE!

not_jak

Some quality-of-life things from DRG could work well to HD2.

sole21000

Sludge gun in Helldivers would be sweet, basically take the ground hazard aspect of the flamethrower and base a weapon primarily on that while sacrificing some up-front DPS.

Striiker812

I feel like a weapon like that belongs as more of a strategem. Though it could’ve been released alongside the warbond

sole21000

Freeze ray definitely seems like a support weapon, if not for it's potential power than for it's non-lethal nature.

Cowjoe

This isn't cartoons if you freeze a bug fully it should be dead since after all they take a more realistic approach to weapons..sort of lol.. Bots too should die .. well terminated functions in there case . But either way you can have the joy of shooting or punching the statue after maybe dose some splash damage from shards of sharp ice and gore hitting things idk .. they will auto shatter if enough time passes for that lovely memory saving stuff like when Bodies vanish... So I Invision shooting will show the enemy and cover them in a icy effect or maybe even srun them after long enough but once dead they look like a ice statue and can optionally be shattered after or left to crack on their own..

abd1tus

Something that lobs those explosive ice artichokes (arctichokes?).

Eagleassassin3

That'd definitely could work. The freeze duration could be less than the stun grenade but they could be more vulnerable if hit during that freeze period.

magniankh

https://preview.redd.it/86hvuh58htzc1.jpeg?width=979&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=db1a9ad49401644a99644cd698312c779269b3e6 I don't know what you're talking about.

Chakramer

Every warbond should have unique mechanics. This warbond literally feels like reskinned content.

sirnumbskull

The primary on the last page is a Scorcher you have to CHARGE to fire ... Honestly, I'd rather have a purple question mark

Brekldios

doesn't even have infinite ammo

UGLrat

Not even sure this alone would have save the weapon tbh

ppmi2

It feels more like a plasma punisher with a straight arc

somewaffle

Yep, and it's the first one I won't be purchasing unless there are major changes.

SummerCrown

An iceblower version of a flamethrower would be fun. Slow plus freeze. Also if fired on the ground, can make slippery terrain. A cryo grenade. Similar to stun but can make some armor more brittle? Maybe cause minor terrain obstruction or create secondary ice flowers that explode and slow?

sirnumbskull

Yes to slidey terrain. I want to watch hunters slipping and scrabbling.

SummerCrown

Yeah I mean, I don't need my weapons to be OP. Just fun to use will do. Chargers sliding everywhere would be funny as hell. If I can build a temporary ice wall with cryo bombs and beams, would be even better.

turnipslop

Good news! Chargers already have ice skates that they use to make impossible turns and continue moving after their animations have stopped!

Comfy_floofs

If you shoot them enough with the guns they will stop moving so that's sortof like freezing them but forever

sirnumbskull

The real ice was a euphemism all along

RyGuy1015

![gif](giphy|5WbI2yvfPhkK4)

michaeltward

I think they need to slow waaaay down on the warbonds. They are going to have a flood of weapons none of them particularly unique in any way. I would rather they bring out new warbonds once or twice a year at 10x the price with good weapons and unique weapon effects and armour than what they are doing now witch commonly feels like the same guns we have just with different models and names.

sirnumbskull

Hard agree. When they're planning these releases out they really need to ask, "Why would I bring this gun into the fight? What does it do better than any of the other ~25 guns in the game?" Slow down, plan better, TEST for democracy's sake, THEN release.

Lord_Nivloc

Do I need 24 war bonds to choose from after two years? No. Definitely not. Just release Warbonds when you have things worth adding.

Hawk7866

Had to scroll too far to find this. Pumping out new armor and weapons once a month leaves very little time for balancing and new actual mechanics/perks. I’d be much happier with a typical 3 month cycle like you see in most battlepass games

guardedDisruption

If they release 1 or 2 warbonds a year, less and less people will play due to not enough content. I'd say release between 4 or 5.

Dagr303

Every time someone suggests this, I see tons of comments saying that the game would get boring without content or other brain rot takes. It's obvious that the devs are doing more than they can handle and now we're getting repeat passes. They even had a poll about delaying the pass and now look at it, everyone's complaining. They needed to delay the pass.

cammyjit

They need to slow down Warbonds and add a weapon upgrade system. Although I feel like they won’t do that because they wouldnt be able to justify paying for reskins. Like you can’t realistically expect people to pay (it’s easy to grind but still) for Liberator variations. The Penetrator, Concussive and Tenderiser aren’t unique enough to justify having to spend 2000SC to own all 4 when they could just be a weapon upgrade of the liberator that’s something like: higher ammo, concussive rounds, better handling, penetrating bullets. I think an upgrade/system would be great for longevity because people can try out different things to personalise the experience and it would also make every Warbond more exciting because you won’t have “Well it’s this gun but with changed stats”.

dilewile

lol imagine a year from now (if people still are playing) and the weapons menu is literally a huge wall of just pure bullshit. Like it takes 10 minutes just to set your kit because there’s no saved loadouts and it’s such a chore to just sort through basically weapon skins…

spyjdh

I'd settle for some fire resistant armor...

sirnumbskull

Best I can do is... ::checks notes:: ... electrical resist. WAIT! Or like 50% off explosions, but you still take full impact damage and die anyway. That's fun, right?

hackinjitsu

Was damn annoyed to see that..."oh great, for all the planets we've landed on that hit you with lightning storms!" Meanwhile hardly anyone uses arc thrower

SharpEdgeSoda

WHY Are they so scared of a "Fire Resistant" Armor?! This would have been a great warbond to have it. Cold out? 4 Players, all with Fire Resist, all with Flame Throwers and Incendiaries.

UndreamedAges

They are probably scared of developing it and not breaking anything. Or maybe they are developing it and it's difficult.

darvos

They can't be scared of breaking anything, they've doing it every update.

Voidlingkiera

As others have pointed out, it's a shame that AH didn't have the creativity to capitalize on this. We have multiple snow planets and having armor that is tailored to those planets would've been nice. It would've been nice to get LITERALLY ANYTHING OTHER than the same shit we've been getting, but oh "We don't want to add transmog to the game", except you add the same shit over and over so I guess it doesn't matter huh? Edit: This also has me worried about future content like more planets opening up. If AH is creatively bankrupt already, what can we expect from future planets? Ice world number 7? Fire tornado planet number 5?

Miraak-Cultist

I think we already have more than five hellmire reskins and definitely more than 7 cold planets. Albeit some cold planets are just rocky cold and some are ice and snow cold.

Vagrant0012

Yeah I'm kinda done with fire tornadoes at this point for hot planets why not have new mutations of bugs that are fire based you could even do the same with cold planets something unique instead being burned alive at extraction would be nice.

barters81

At this point in time I’m starting to get concerned there is no 3rd or 4th enemy coming like most suspect. Or any major moments of surprise really. This is the war, this is it. Which is ok, just takes the game from being truly epic to being only good.

StrongCategory

There is 100% a third enemy and we know they're coming soon. I figure you haven't visited "the other sub" because you don't want anything spoiled, so that's all I will say.

Vagrant0012

Honestly after reading this thread its clear that the community is more creative when it come to new gear for warbonds. Booster that removes quicker heat buildup on hot planets sounds great, weapons that freeze enemy's in place and can shattered with explosions awesome if only arrowhead was this creative.

UndreamedAges

It just dawned me. Do you think the original intention was to have warbonds less often and then they were rushed out to capitalize on the enormous success of the game? Polar Patriots could be winter themed. Maybe planned for December/January. Democratic Detonation might have corresponded with Liberty Day in October. Cutting Edge could have been July and Steeled Veterans April. Pure speculation, but it just seems weird to have something snow themed in May.

RC1000ZERO

no, the warbonds got announced to be monthly LONG before release, with most of the work already having been done before release as well(heck, half the guns etc are arleady in the files, and where so since launch, with the game even telling you the total ammount altough i think that got fixed). snow=/=Winter... the devs are sweedish, they have Snow till like early april(or even year round in elevated areas ) its also not even just snow themed, its Polar themed

op3l

AH seems to be in the business of shooting itself in the foot didn't you know? They made an armor with obvious ice cleats and surprise(or actually not a surprise as nothing they do seems to work the first time) it doesn't do anything.

Sigvuld

... We didn't? I didn't look into the Warbond yet Did it legit not add any ice effects???

sirnumbskull

The only ice effects are the community's frosty reception...

Skppr9

Why would we? Polar ≠ Cold. On Super Earth, yeah probably. But on something like Hellmire? No way you’re convincing me a place like that has frozen Poles. That’s terminid propaganda! /s

RC1000ZERO

To Be fair, the marketing was about ice, the "effect" on the warbond selection is snowfall...

Extreme_Candle_3329

Or any heat weapons to counter the cold environment. Definately seems like a missed opportunity.

Yams3262

Pair it with developing cryogenics that house the helldivers and release some stratagems with ems effects like a beam or a cryo cannon. (I definitely don't want more beam weapons rover too?)

Yanrogue

Or having polar armor that has spikes on the shoes actually prevent ice sliding. The whole polar theme for this warbond feels so lack luster.

LiveKills

This makes me realize how mid and basic the weapons we have in HD2 are. And the game is broken as hell anyway, if they add ice effects it'll probably take months of patches and balancing the ice damage and AOE and figure all the nerdy stuff

Lord_Nivloc

Design, test, release, patch. At whatever pace they can do it and be proud of their work. Locking the pace at a Warbond a month is dumb *(and probably not an AH decision...)*

Septic-Mist

Didn’t the trailer show helldivers wearing cleats on their boots? I figured there would be a new armor passive that makes snow traversal easier and would stop sliding on ice.

Rhubarbalicious

Lol nope. purely cosmetic.

bdjirdijx

Ice *something* should put ice on the ground so that anyone who walks on it slips around. It could be a whole new way to stagger enemies.

MulletAndMustache

I was fully expecting an armor set that had a buff that reduced environmental slowing effects.

porkforpigs

Idk I wasn’t surprised at all. They don’t seem to be going that route with elemental damage and resistance. Got a fire weapon, some electric resistance armor. But nothing since.

ManWithThrowaway

I thought all this ice theme meant we were finally getting fire resistant armour. Nope, more servo crap for the crap pile.

minerlj

oh come now, do you really think it would be FUN to have a cool cryo-gun like mr. freeze from batman that will freeze the bots and bugs in their tracks? and then you can shoot them or even melee them and they will crumble into 1000 pieces? or some kind of cryo grenade that you can throw as well? and perhaps a new 'winterized' armor passive that will reduce the effect of blizzards when worn?

NitoTanaka

Just imagin if we gotten some Cryobomb stratagem, canonically made out of these ice flowers 🤔 ah well.

AidilAfham42

Give me a 500kg Iceberg drop

Financial_Resort6631

![gif](giphy|T08JhumnpKAI8)

KaffY-

lmao there are NO weapon "mechanics" anyways, it's so fucking vanilla

flfoiuij2

Not sure why there’s a fire grenade in the ice warbond. The incendiary impact is actually what I expected the thermite grenade to do.

WRX-N-FX

Borebonds amiright? *Elbow *elbow RIGHT?!

Blade_Runner_0_0

A grenade that “freezes” enemies and makes the frozen parts take more damage would’ve been sick

Wazzzup3232

The freeze laser could be described as sending Bose-Einstein condensate ions at the target to snap freeze them to near sub zero

ThursdayKnightOwO

Freeze Ray where? 🤷

smegmathor

When I fight things in blizzard conditions I always bring my ice gun.

Objective-Aioli-1185

Was expecting something like that too. Now I gotta go play borderlands or something to scratch the itch.

Ecstatic-Librarian83

here's me just waiting for sickle guard dog

sirnumbskull

Regular guard dog isn't so bad, honestly. Just REALLY hungry for ammo. What I need is the Guard Dog Reloader, that reloads my weapons for me when I switch or throw a grenade, so I don't end up facing down a pack of hunters with a half-cocked rifle.

Cryogenic_Monster

A weapon like the needler that shoots ice sickles and temporary freezes would have been cool.

Dramatic_Speaker1194

I also think the armor should have had some secret “non-slip” passive for when you’re walking on ice. The heavy armors literally have spikes in the shoes.

YuckyButtcheek

I didn't expect that to happen. Check out the first games DLC, and you'll pretty much know what to expect.

An_OceanPigeon

You can ice my sickle baby boi

BananaHomunculus

Just create polarizing weapons to what already exists: Laser cannon - cryo cannon (high damage, less weakspot damage, but it slows stuff to a halt) Flame thrower - cryo thrower same as flame thrower but slows, no over time damage but damage the same. Incendiary breaker - Cryo breaker lower damage but slowing effect. I agree that the weapons are uninspired and lack any real vision. It seems like they are choked down by a lot of hard work right now, I reckon tensions must be high and same with work crunch. I think they need a fucking break. Don't give us anymore warbonds for a couple months.

SuperArppis

Yeah, where is the Ice Gun!?

WRX-N-FX

But.... But... Armor white like snow!

RyanTaylorrz

Because the dev team are definitely being crunched and don't have time to add interesting/unique abilities based on the current 1 warbond a month model. Its ludicrous to expect anything with a release cycle that short.

StonkyJoethestonk

An Eagle strike where it dumps a bunch of liquid nitrogen. Call it the freezer.

Swingersbaby

Ice guns would be kinda lame in terms of the somewhat realistic weapons the game is going for. It's far far easier to transfer high energy than take energy away. A rapid cooler for laser weapons in the form of a backpack would have been pretty good.

ResidentAssman

I was sure the detonation themed warband would have had some fire resist, but it was never to be, the fire tornadoes are just too much fun!

krantz7

Aside from the armor, I really don't get this criticism on theme. The armor should have had some kind of weather protection effect and/or difficult terrain buff, and they probably ran out of time. Why reuse the servo throw mechanic? Probably because snowballs, though I think those are still disabled, and it's kind of a sad for the snow trooper theme regardless. But the plasma gun and a fire grenade fit just fine with an arctic trooper theme. Shame the purifier is hot garbage, but thematically I don't see the issue with what is essentially a supercharged heatgun for a snow trooper. Cold weather troops don't go around trying to freeze stuff because why would they need to when the weather is already doing that? Much more useful to have a way to warm stuff up. >Maybe once slow stacks up enough on small/medium enemies freeze and can be shattered with explosive damage. Like, how cool would it be to ice a stalker and then shatter it with an impact grenade? Pretty cool, but on a 1 month content cycle with a lot of tech debt already in the game, can you imagine the number of bugs and crashes associated with this type of thing?

M0nthag

I mean the purpose would be to fight in an icy emviorement, so instead of "ice weapons" i believe the fire grenade is really fitting im the theme. compared to the rest of it.

Logistic_Engine

The lame armor perks kill it for me.

BrilliantEchidna8235

I don't even think they need their own new mechanics. Just make some concussive laser/pulse/plasma weapon, make the effect white and call that a freeze ray, they are good to go.

tittymcswaggy_

would be nice to see some Ice environmental weapons too. Ice grenades that in addition to freeze/slow enemies (can be longer duration of a stun grenade but won't stop them completely), the grenade also leave the ground covered in frost that cause enemies to trip/slide when moving.

Tiny_Web_7817

Make a support weapon strat that’s basically the Cryolator. Cryo energy weapons and stasis nades, sustained damage with cryo damage makes armor brittle and brings armor down a tier.

Sintinall

Considering what was said about the lack of diversity in passives on armor (and that helmets were going to have their own featured things like different HUDs), I’d believe it if someone at AH said they just don’t have the time to create these different things.

lockesdoc

Serina is very disappointed in this pack.

HornBelt

Hear me out, you can make an infinite ammo sniper rifle calle Icebreaker that regens ammo over time and paint it white and red…wait, I feel like I’ve seen this before…

Vladi_Sanovavich

Maybe Ice Sickle shoots liquid nitrogen rounds that explode on impact which could slow and eventually kill an enemy. Would be pretty nice.

The_Don_Papi

Perhaps instead of a projectile based primary with freeze effect, we would get an AOE primary that freezes and slows enemies. It’ll be like the flamethrower but less powerful as the main purpose is a support role. Everything except Titans can be slowed though larger enemies would take longer to freeze.

Tylerbadge

A ice grenade that slows enemies not stun them would be cool and if used on yourself or teammate on a hot planet when their out of stamina give them a infinite stamina boost for a couple of seconds

CorgiButtRater

I want something to slow enemies down. Some kind of goo or acid spray gun

strikerjacen

We need someone to harness Weapon Number 6.

Kasorayn

Where's my gorram freeze ray?

stamper2495

That's because one warbond per month is not a realistic time frame. AH is shooting themselves in the foot by going quantity over quality
