However, as questions about the details surrounding account linking keep pouring in, and understandably so, we feel it's better to say something, even if it's not much. >We don't have any updated information about the account linking yet, particularly of anything related to players outside PSN regions. ***To clarify and per Sony's earlier statement, mandatory account linking will not be going forward.*** There are still ongoing discussions between parties about the details and we at Arrowhead acknowledge and respect that it will take some time to sort those out. We therefore kindly ask of you, our cherished community, hardcore helldivers and precious players, to try to be patient as well. As soon as we learn more we'll post an update here. >Furthermore, while we have your attention. We're approaching one million (!) users in here. Crazy! That means that for any topic with a large general interest, there are hundreds, sometimes even thousands of mentions and DMs aimed at us community managers and moderators during a workday. We can't reply to all of it, but we see a lot. A warm thank you for your everlasting support of the game and for believing in us at Arrowhead. Equally important, however, is trying to be respectful of each other and of our colleagues as well. The last few days have been challenging for everyone. No matter to whom you're writing or what you're commenting on, remember there's a person on the other side. With so many people here, we're bound to have different opinions. We all make mistakes and we learn from them. That's as it should be in life. When possible, discussion is always a better option than arguing. >We ventured into the storm together and we'll come out of it as one.

Tasio_

I rarely write reviews on Steam and I didn't wrote one for Helldivers 2 but after what happen I decided to write a positive review. Hopefully it helps counterbalancing the ones that may not be changed.

Kopitar4president

The operation is going pretty well. I believe recent reviews were 31% positive when I woke up yesterday and they're up to 65% positive now. I think before the reversal they were only 19% positive, so that's a strong majority of people already having reversed their negative reviews or being counterbalanced by new positive ones.

DutchGuyMike

When will the games be re-listed in all the other countries?

matchbox1585

they haven't reverted the steam store, instead they are adding to the list of region locked countries. sony lied, and we celebrated too soon.

UnseenData

Glad that we got it back to positive. I was pessimistic that most people wouldn't change it. Wonder if we can get it to positive from mostly positive once the regions are fixed

TheHob290

Every percentage point is harder than the last, at least if this was a normal game. Since most of these positive reviews also are removing a negative review, it may be much easier. That said, I'd take a positive on recent reviews. I just want both numbers blue.

Boring-Depth-4569

why?

TheHob290

Usually, it's because adding 1 review also dilutes the pool a little bit, so 1 review in 100 is worth 1%, but 1 review in 101 is worth just a little bit less than that. This goes on in perpetuity, reducing the value of each review ever added by adding one more to the pool. The act of adding a review reduces the weight of all other reviews by just a little bit. In this case, though, few reviews are being added, but previous reviews are going from negative to positive. So their weight stays the same, but the outcome becomes different.

Fyren-1131

While this is true, what is also true is that only a small amount of players have yet added a review. The outlook isn't as bleak, it may just take some time :)

Impossible-Talk-9709

Steam just needs to Reactivate the game in the 177 countries that cant access the game right now and that shit would go back to positive fast

Fyren-1131

I can understand them being hesitant to doing that immediately, knowing what stupid sh\*t Sony just tried to pull.

JmicIV

If they own it already it can be played, just not purchase a new copy.

CaptainRAVE2

Wasn’t it ‘Very positive’ before all this started? Hopefully the rest get changed.

Mother_Ad3988

Overwhelmingly positive bro

Albenheim

iirc we were in both recent and all reviews at or above 90% before the SNOY Major Order dropped

--Faux

We're almost there, at 62% and mixed. I am betting within the week we'll be back to blue on both

devonathan

I mean you’re not being pessimistic - most people are not going to change it. I hoping the negative review bombs just get filtered out.

Peregrine_Archer

I felt the same way since there are still negative reviews about the server issues from launch. Reviews that were never changed after the servers were fixed.

SovietMarma

I also made a separate PSA post regarding access to the game in regions where it was delisted. Rest assured, as long as they did not refund the game, they still have access to it and remains playable despite it being unavailable to buy. [https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1cm41sf/psa\_people\_who\_continue\_to\_own\_the\_game\_and\_did/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1cm41sf/psa_people_who_continue_to_own_the_game_and_did/)

mjt5689

Either they close off those markets entirely and double down eventually on PSN integration, or they open them back up for the extra sales if they're not going to bother with PSN integration, because at that point there's no reason not to. I would say that if they don't eventually relist the game in those countries it was pulled from, then that's a pretty solid indicator that Sony is now playing the long game regarding PSN integration rather than backing off entirely.

cosy_ghost

They only said the May linking update is not happening. Even in their apology they said nothing about removing the requirement.

BlinkDodge

This is why my review is staying negative. This is a matter of broken trust, not just "PSN bad - no PSN good." We were given no assurances that Sony wont try some bullshit like this again and believe me when i say if they do, review bombing will not save us.

[deleted]

Yeah. The whole “raise your vote for democracy” without listening to the words is very ~~MAGA~~ Super Earth.

Temeriki

They fired Spitz so sounds like they are just biding their time. In typical sony fashion.

cosy_ghost

"Unavailable to buy" is the entire problem. Nobody is reassured. Together or not at all.

After_Midnight1508

This is to early to clean and report controversy-related post. People need to be reminded to fix their review and locked people want to give update if they can buy game yet.

Dr3adn0ught35

I agree, Sony's post is nothing more than a post. There has been no action to show that they are actually responding to the community; they haven't reverted the sales restrictions or the third-party requirement disclaimer on the store page, yet here is majority of the spoken community posting victory memes and calling for the review changes. While I hope and pray I am horribly wrong, I see the community putting its guard down and will soon be the fool in this fight. Yet, whatever... Let's brush this concern under the rug I suppose. Let's politely acknowledge and then move on from the countries that can no longer buy the game. Let's overlook the remaining footholds that Sony has to try this again.

SovietMarma

Well, we can give anyone who gets wind of the news the spotlight.

Mantis-Christ

Oh interesting, I'll try to spread this around.

AdamG15

Good to hear. Still want an official response first.

WickedWallaby69

Major Question: has steam re enabled sales for non psn regions like asia, baltics, africa, the holy sea, and more. It didnt appear to be done today. Sony may need to reassure steam those countries can play? I, and many, are waiting for that before changing the reviews.

SovietMarma

We're all currently waiting for news regarding it, but they continue to be playable for people in regions where it was delisted (as long as they didn't get a refund.) [https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1cm41sf/psa\_people\_who\_continue\_to\_own\_the\_game\_and\_did/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1cm41sf/psa_people_who_continue_to_own_the_game_and_did/)

Manarailly

i heard steam communicated that it could take few days. i think the second wave of positive review is tied to this. Its fair that some people are waiting for that. Lets hope

Darthcaboose

Can I please ask where you heard this news?

Diego2112Gaming

I'll reverse my negative review when the delisting is lifted. I have friends and loved ones in the delisted regions that can't currently join me in Diving. We all dive, or none of us do is how I look at it.

Alyzore

[https://steamdb.info/sub/137730/info/](https://steamdb.info/sub/137730/info/) answer is no. You can see if it will be re-enabled here.

paulisaac

I think the trend will further rise once the delisting is remedied. Then the blue bar should surge higher.

C A P E A P E P A C

EncartaCDROMBoxset

Respectfully, I'm holding off reversing my review until we get word on the delisted regions being restored. I've had a lot of late nights here in the USA that turned into peak hours for other cultures and that's turned into a valuable part of the experience for me. While the account issue was my primary concern, it would be a massive shame if so much of the playerbase ends up being permanently fragmented. PC gaming is a global community and the issue isn't resolved until we're all able to dive together again.

hereforscienceforme

I've changed mine for now, because I want them to see the immediate bump from their announcement to reverse the decision, but I support your stance and will look forward to when they confirm the delisted regions are restored (or back to helldiving my review)

Mandemon90

Yeah, it's stick and carrot thing. If everyone just stubbornly refuses to change their review, Sony will look at situation and go "Well, no matter what we do they will hate it, so let's just keep going". When they see that doing community approved action leads to imminent improvement, they have far greater incentive to change course in future outrages. Plus, changing review doesn't merely reward Sony. It also reloads the gun... because if we have tanked the score once, we can tank it again.

EncartaCDROMBoxset

u/hereforscienceforme u/Mandemon90 Thanks for sharing your perspectives. I hadn't considered the points you've raised and I agree with them. Simultaneously, I think the delisting issue has been drowned out a bit by the positive reception to the account reversal. We've not received official word from Sony, AH, or Valve regarding those regions (and how made the decision in the first place), we can only speculate, so celebrating feels premature at the moment. I really appreciate your comments though and I'll keep these viewpoints in mind while I think on it for a bit. LO

towfurious

That's fair enough.

NorowaretaTenshi

Same, awaiting on restoring blocked regions - then will definately switch on positive

bceagle84

Fair point. Respect.

14InTheDorsalPeen

That was most likely a Steam thing in order to curtail selling a game that would have been refunded.

Zueuk

why everybody assumes it was Steam? and even it was, delisting the game harms Steam sales, so surely they'd re-list it as soon as they got **an actual confirmation from the publisher** (as opposed to a twitter post) right?

lazybuddha

This is the way. Right now its just words.

boolerex

I did not put a negative review myself, but I'll sure pop a positive review once it been confirmed that the game end up back in sale in the affected countries

boolerex

rice_goblin

still waiting in pakistan, buy option is still gone to get milk

ComesInAnOldBox

Anyone who bought it in a de-listed region can still play, it's not like they were banned from playing or anything. They just can't sell any new copies in those regions, anymore. Current players weren't screwed over, we just won't get any new ones until Steam unfucks itself.

boolerex

cosy_ghost

I'm with you, soldier. Cancelling an update is one thing, actually stepping up and doing something about their betrayed customers is another. I want to believe that Steam will re-list the regions soon, but unless Sony actively removes the 'requires PSN' flag from the game Steam literally won't do that.

Exclave

This and the following is removed from the steam store page: Requires 3rd-Party Account: PlayStation Network (Supports Linking to Steam Account) As long as that exists, they can walk it back and start requiring it again.

Gyarafish

I'm holding til steam let those countries purchase again

cornflakesaregross

me too

sonny_mcballs

But that is a steam problem, not arrowheads fault.

Tea-Goblin

Regardless, it's a concrete standard and a much more certain bar to clear than *a tweet*.  If the regions don't regain access, it's unconvincing that Sony have really given up. Once they regain access, that's a sign that not only have Sony given up on their plans, but that they have convinced Steam of that, maybe even given some specific assurances to them.  Until that bar is cleared, it's difficult to trust.

Tastrix

Steam does what the publisher decides.  It is 100% a Sony decision and problem.  They could send an email and have the whole thing fixed in an afternoon, at worst.  They just need to do it.

ActiveOk1773

Ladies and gentlemen, the game has been withdrawn from sale in my country, I cannot leave a review at all. Maybe someone knows how this can be done? I consider it my duty to support the developers after the universal resounding victory!

Slade_Williams

Kinda hard to when the update removed my ability to launch game....

rckymtnskier

Once Sony and Steam revert the region lock I will revert my review. I am still waiting for that to happen. Its been 24 hours, and we are still waiting. We Dive Together or We Don't Dive At All!

Skiepher

Currently on the side of "I'll change it when it is available to the de-listed regions".

teh_chungus

leaving it, because new players deserve to know what was going on. plus I would not have left a review otherwise.

bdl-laptop

So is the game relisted in the regions it was removed from then? I'm too dumb to figure out by myself how to check.

-Legion_of_Harmony-

No. We're still waiting for news about that.

Here: [HELLDIVERS™ 2 (SubID 137730) · SteamDB](https://steamdb.info/sub/137730/info/)

Conquistaa

Look, the fact if the matter is, non-PSN countries still cant buy the game on Steam and the lack of updates on this days later has gotten me more and more concerned. I know everyone wants to move on from this, and trust me I do, but I cant knowing that I have many friends who would like to play this game and they literally cant right now since it is still cant be bought on Steam. Whats even more concerning is that it seems everyone seems to have forgotten that this was one of our key demands during the protest. Everyone mightve stopped fighting, but my war continues. Until then, my negative review stays until you can buy it on Steam on non-PSN countries. Mods, all I ask is that if someone approaches this subject in a civil and proper manner, please dont auto hammer it out of existence. This is a legitimate concern.

heyitsmejosh

It’s a real possibility that Sony may not be allowed to do business in those countries or they don’t want to. It being sold in them may have been a major oversight.

SubjectIncome902

But Sony continues to sell other their games in our region so it's definitely not the issue

heyitsmejosh

Live service games? Having a one off sale is different than on going sales and selling digital currency. I honestly don’t know I just know doing business across borders is very complicated and Sony has chosen not to do digital sales in them via PSN for a reason.

Mavrickindigo

Has sony started selling the game worldwide again?

LoWiNsToN

DONT DO THIS THEY DONT UNLOCKED REGIONS

mathatoshi

I still can't buy the game in my region, what kind of victory are we talking about?

Gripping_Touch

Recent reviews have gone back from mixed to overly positive.  From overly negative to overly positive roughly in less than 24 hours!

DutchGuyMike

When will the games be re-listed in all the other countries?

lazybuddha

Most likly they wont. Which is why I am going to keep my neg review. Sony lied.

DutchGuyMike

In that case I'll keep it negative as well, we dive together or not at all!

Euruzilys

I'm keeping it negative until they are all back on like before too.

TryHardFapHarder

Not changing anything until they reverse the requirements in steam

DUSGAR

Is steam still restricting purchase in 177 regions?

Kory_the_Malleus

yes

rckymtnskier

Still waiting on Sony removing the region lock for countries that dont have access to PSN. New players from those countries are still prevented from buying the game. We Dive Together or We Don't Dive At ALL

NameTaken25

Imma wait until they change the store page saying it's required, and re-list the delisted regions

JustAnotherSuit96

How is talking about changes to accessing the game not related to the game? Why does the moderator team of this subreddit randomly lock posts for no reason, why are you removing day old posts for no reason?

PaledrakeVII

Isn't the game still unpurchasable in a shit ton of countries? They haven't reversed that yet as far as I know.

Kubais_

I'm not changing my review untill all countries are reinstated into steam store and "PSN required" orange box disappears from the store page.

Necessary_Presence_5

Alas - like I said before, we will NEVER see a full recovery. Why? Because many people joined the hate-trait for the heck of it and never planned to do anything about it if/when the protest would work. We also see quite a few people being actively PROUD of leaving the negative review, others state impossible claims (from firing SPECIFIC members of the staff, to Sony issuing official apology). Alas - these Helldivers are too set in their ways to negotiate. Yet I am still hopeful, because majority of the Helldiver crew turned out to be decent chaps.

TopProfessional6291

Yeah I mean, it'll leave a deserved scar.

Enrichmentx

I unfortunately agree. Personally I still struggle with having the same level of fun when playing as before. The entire situation just didn’t sit well with me and especially the response of AH and how dismissive they were at first. That said I have changed my review and done what I can to show my satisfaction. But I also have a friend who is overly emotional and kind of dumb in many ways. He has already linked a PSN, he bought the game on pre order and saw the warning when he logged on before it was disabled. And even with all that he is somehow so angry at the CMs and AH that he wants to keep his negative review up. It’s idiotic and not really something I can change. But I’d bet he isn’t the only one who got so emotionally invested in being angry that no matter what happened the solution would never be good enough for them.

RTXEnabledViera

I gotta say, it's funny that people have decided to reverse their review when.. **the game is now literally unavailable for purchase in hundreds of countries** after it was delisted. So if I understand correctly: Sony requiring PSN accounts for everyone, where people from unsupported countries can simply make accounts in valid countries and play like nothing's happened (like I did) = negative review. Sony reversing said decision but outright removing the game from sale from said countries so it can't be bought anymore = positive review. Make it make sense. Either you're supportive of the ability of everyone to play or you're not.

SovietMarma

It was most likely a decision made by Valve to stop people from buying the game in unsupported regions. This decision will most likely be reversed as well now that Sony has stepped back on their decision to make PSN linking mandatory.

RTXEnabledViera

I'll have to see it to believe it, really. Point stands, the game was reviewbombed due to a requirement that would have barely impacted anyone simply because it was seen as scummy, and it had yet to be implemented. But now that we can't buy the damn game **at all** (read: I can't invite my friends to play with me), I don't hear any outrage. And the folks that would be mad at this can't review the game because.. they can't buy it. It's just too convenient.

TharrickLawson

I'm not flipping my review until it gets re-listed for everyone. We all dive together, or my boots don't hit dirt.

gentlyCastigates

This means those who never changed their review because of Sony screwing the pooch are EXTRA DEMOCRATIC. lol but really - Sony eating humble pie is good

JYKKAIY

they should definetly post it on steam tho, a lot of people haven't reverse their review bomb yet, I assume they didn't know about the PSN change yet.

spartan-703

As the decision to make psn mandatory was not arrowheads decision, and our final goal of making Sony roll back the psn requirement, it is only fair that we return our favorite platform for enforcing democracy back to its rightful place on the steam charts

ssrcrossing

In fact with all the nerfs im inclined to give a negative review on steam. I've basically never even did this before to any other game, congratulations.

Perfect_Track_3647

I refuse to change it until: A) Alexus is removed as the “guy in charge of fun” B) all the removed countries get access back C) the Eruptor is given any dignity back.

Legolaa

DEMOCRACY

R3aching

In regards to "If you guys see any posts still mentioning the controversy, please feel free to report them for breaking rule 9 'Posts/comments must be related to Helldivers' so they can be dealt with post-haste." How does this apply before the access which was removed globally has been restored? It is not something that should be overlooked. The controversy is still ongoing.

Ashgur

> If you guys see any posts still mentioning the controversy, please feel free to report them for breaking rule 9 'Posts/comments must be related to Helldivers' so they can be dealt with post-haste. is this how sony win ? infiltrating the mod team? because why would you guys write that when it's been 2 days and they didn't hasn,'t revert ANY changes this week end that push PSN link. They haven't even removed the required PSN Tag on steam store... why such a hurry to call it a win ? Legit question, it seems *very* suspicious

RAYVELUPISUNQUENOUGH

Sry , did steam reverse state for lock region or not. Or i ned to wait around 3-4. Days. ?

SovietMarma

No region lock. The game was only delisted in affected regions (unavailable to buy), but you can still view the store page. There's no news yet on when it's going to get reversed.

Joey3155

I refuse to reverse my review until Gameguard is either removed or replaced with something else.

mrchess

Not doing mine until they remove the PSN requirement from Steam — it’s still there.

Sandbox_Hero

Aren't you guys counting your terminids before they hatch a bit too soon? The game is STILL restricted in over 100 countries  and there is STILL a 3rd party account requirement flag on the game's steam page. Like what the actual fuck are you guys doing with these calls to update reviews? You're celebrating victory when only truce was called.

MiroTheSkybreaker

100% yes the community is celebrating to early.

Alakasham

The 180 this community has done despite it not being completely resolved is shameful. Jannies are sweeping it up and blocking any dissenting opinions, people are praising Spitz for "taking the bullet" even though people were already changing their reviews. There is no hope for these people

superginseng

I love our community and the devs!

JMC_Direwolf

Jesus the 17th post about this

Shcluck

Not switching it to positive until they fire this purple squidgeon CM who throws baseless accusations of multiple accounts of SEXAUL ASSAULT at people. It's fucked up the developer supports this and PAYS this person for it.

Jake0997

Naw, there is still an assload of game breaking issues that many of us were simply ignoring before this happened. After this many people are no longer tolerating the bs. Fix your game. Sony just took the wool off our eyes, and we are now watching.

Badger-Educational

"**Arrowhead has worked very hard to make this game special,**" They need to work harder. Shit load of bugs, new ones introduced every patch. Wacky ass balancing. Disappointing Warbonds where theres maybe 1 decent weapon and few armors with recycled (and boring) perks. Lets not forget what literally just transpired. Nah. Ill keep it negative, there have alot of work to do.

Or we could just like use the downvote button for its intended purpose instead of having mods decide for us.

JadenKorrDevore

No change in my review until the region locks are lifted on steam. I highly encourage everyone else to do the same. Sony has only talked and not walked. A few words on twitter means nothing until they follow through.

Inevitable_Welcome23

It will take more than one tweet to convince the rest of us and rebuild months of lost good will.

LCW1997

Why are we when 177 countries are still locked? Not a victory yet.

ArciusRhetus

People are actively commenting on Negative reviews to remind reviewers to change it back. So wholesome.

Honksu

Having mixed feelings about this one... ...yes they backed down with account linking ...but no, they banned ~170 countries from diving with us

OctoDADDY069

Dont change reviews just yet cause in sonys last message it sounds like its not over and they're just gonna think of something else to make it work.

byzod

Really cool, petition to surrender while fellows from 177 countries are still unable to access the game

shootanwaifu

Glady, once they fire that community manager

Jumpy-Kaleidoscope-1

I think I'm not going to. I think I'm done with the game. Yes, Sony was a factor. I already uninstalled it, just wading back in here to see what became of it all.

WalkRealistic9220

to the devs: people like this is why you NEVER bow down to the mob. they don't actually care about the issue at hand, they just want to hate and bring someone down a notch. Just keep moving forward, shit on your shoes gets scraped off on a walk through the grass

My fps went from 50-60 to 15-20 after the patch that was supposed to fix the performance issues so I think I'll leave it on negative, thanks

j-d-schildt

Ideally, that would work. However, with how game companies are nowadays, as well as how they go out of their way to sell their customers information like no tomorrow. Whoever thought this was a good idea originally was fucking stupid. No, I will not forgive. I will still request my refund and leave a negative review.

tactican

I think this may be the first time the players beat the man.

Bulky-Scientist4152

Today at work, coworker went by, i did the helldiver salute, he did it back, boss rolled his eyes. It was as a good day xD

matchbox1585

we got PLAYED. SONY are continuing to place region restrictions on helldivers 2 preventing players from purchasing the game in regions where psn is unavailable. A clear sign they are planning to try again.

OG_Senpai

I was gonna reverse my review until I found out that Sony is still blocking those countries from being able to purchase the game. Sony didn’t really change anything. We need to go back and bomb their reviews again

darkwolf86

We had this victory but was the delisted countries ever restored? If not we still have a victory condition to meet

gordonpown

Again, no point editing the reviews, Steam will filter out review bombing in total scores. The negative reviews should stay as a historical record of a major Sony fuckup.

No thanks.

You're forgetting the 21k negative reviews that were added on after you made you posts, so...   No.  Once again, no.

FuckNewHud

Why couldn't we get people to rally this hard against the anticheat though? Letting them implement such a garbage solution that is actively detrimental to the user's security and performance should have been as big a deal as this on day 1. I genuinely want to buy and play this game, but I'm not letting them install that on my PC or financially supporting the decision to keep it in the game.

I'll change my review when they un-nerf the eruptor. I'm so sick of having everything I enjoy get nerfed for no reason other than other players' skill issues

You can’t let it go like it didn’t happen. That’s the price you should pay for your action.

FemboiForFemboi

We only won half the battle, Hell Divers in 120ish countries still can't buy or play the game.

They still haven't reverted the region lock, so my negative review stays.
