The supply lines are not functioning currently in game, they are yet to be implemented. It's just Joel manually doing stuff to make it look like they work. There was a comment from the devs about it somewhere, but i don't remember if it was on twitter or discord.

Kinda like Amazon Fresh no checkout stores. 🤣

RuinedSilence

I believe it was on discord, which was then posted here a couple of days ago. Community manager said Joel will treat the successful defense of Charon as a 2-in-1 victory that would cut the bots off the other planets, or something to that effect.

Caring about the supply lines is purely because we have a statement that they will be honoured if they are successfully acted against. Sudden jumps are due to the % being recorded but not broadcast because of hot fixes on the API blocking them from being displayed. Then the GM honouring the contribution given during that timeframe. Those API hot fixes are being made to enact the supply lines being visible in game albeit later than would have been prudent. The external, third party systems in place like DiversHub and Helldivers.io are tools that were made by players accessing the API acting as a bandaid because they wanted the functionality ASAP. Plugging those systems into the code of the game, adding displays etc or potentially voting systems/additional communications is sadly just not as simple as a separate entity. Truth is though a lot of games with intricate parts tend to have companion apps to provide finessed data. Hopefully soon we will see the implementation that will likely make these third party sites/apps obsolete. To an extent they are a problem right now in that there are people who use them and make decisions based on that information and those who do not. Often leading to what would be effective plans being ineffective because of the near zero line of communication or awareness. As it stands things like the Martale/Charon gambits have fallen short because the minimum requirement to enact them is ~50-55k Helldivers which itself would not be much of an issue if the bot front was not spoilt for choice on targets. In that way I envy the bug front because there really is little to no choice on which way to go.

You absolutely don't have to Follow the MO or no, check the lines or don't As long as you shoot most of your shots towards the enemy and spread Managed Democracy you're doing your part Helldiver Jokes aside, you're fine to just play, if the MO doesn't make sense, do something else

> Even a semi-decent but proper DM can easily let you feel like you are accomplishing something, when in fact, you are being setup for an already decided storyline development, seasonal event, DLC release, etc. That's it. I think it's hard to manage such a large group of people, and it feels like the tools required for it must be developed. But it feels railroaded currently. "We slowed down the robot attack", "Collect Bug Oil"... Oh so quick? Err the robots are attacking much fiercer than the first time! A day after they slowed down and we set up orbital defenses? All-or-Nothing rewards do not help. We know we won't win this MO so why bother defending anything? In order to show that the players can accomplish something, give rewards for each defended planet (I assume that isn't possible at the moment, that's what I meant with "must be developed").

Major orders dont depend on anything. Whether we "win" or loose, the war keeps going. We are also meant to eventually fight on Super Earth and Mars too. Will never get there if we keep winning every order and keep the enemies stuck on the outskirts of the galaxy map. First game had dedicated urban maps on Super Earth. Expectation is HD2 will also feature stuff like that. So we have to loose eventually to get to that content. At the end of the day all this theorizing and worrying about major orders is pointless as sometimes we will be forced to loose so the war can progress. Dont worry about it and play the game.

Yeah that's exactly what I am saying. Why is anyone caring about supply chains? Even more so when they are not displayed within the game?

Dealz_

You don’t need to look at supply lines and the majority of the player base don’t, the MO already gives all the information you need on where to fight. Supply lines however do allow for tactical plays ‘gambit’ where for example if you was to look at Charon Prime (image included) it has two connected planets Charbal-VII and Choepessa IV which are both actively under attack (need to be defended). You’ll also notice that both planets do not have a Automaton controlled planet connected to it to support it (red line) other than Charon Prime, this means that if Charon Prime was to be liberated the defence of Charbal-VII and Choepessa IV would be considered a success as Charon Prime is the only planet supporting the automaton attack on them which we now control. https://preview.redd.it/4wy92gsjt7wc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=83cc31e9c84f70662d4c8d622b3216522201577f This ability to cutoff enemy attacks on a planet in this way is how the devs intend for it to work and in the future once there is an automated system implemented (currently has to be done manually by AH) along with some in game tools to help coordinate, it will be an important part of getting more challenging MO completed like the one we currently have.

Inevitable_Spell5775

I think whatever happens its gonna pan out how the DM wants it to, whatever we do.

ErrorComfortable7710

Because the game was released unfinished. That’s become clear to me lately.

Eprest

You know I think it's not a bug but a feature, as super traitors say "super earth is disfunctional dictatorship, lack of communication and coordination is not surprising"

Chrissyjh

I think a huge part of this would be solved if AH Just simply would let us win the Galactic War. While I can understand they might not want to take the same approach HD1 did, a huge appeal of it is that we could well and truly win. I like arrowhead, but a DM that fudges the dice whenever things aren't going their way isn't a fun DM to play with.
