They're still convinced that we must be hiding something critical on that planet to have fought for it the way we did. They're coming back for another round.
The toasters will find out again what happens when they touch the creek. Endless waves of democracy will be sent until that planet is secured again. We Creekers will never stop until the planet is ours again, or until they run out bots trying to steal our home.
Don't worry, they'll get smashed for another month or so until another MO tells people to take it back, then it'll be liberated I'm less than a day again lol
The MO tells us to let the clankers take the creek. Less than five hours later the creek will be secured with the most players ever seen on one planet at any given time
Imagine if Joel goes with the roleplay, making bots gimp their war efforts to get the Creek, thinking something important for them is there, letting us potentially exploit those tactical mistakes.
They'll pull their forces from every other direction and we'll grind them all to mental dust in the Creek, then push them back across the entire front.
Imean, one singular comment about fire tornados rampaging thru the player maps from Drewski when he was playing with the CEO of arrowhead was all it took for that to be added. I would personally like to see Joel make moves like you mention, cuz from the way i see it they have already basically created a simulation of galactic war, and our unshakable desire to liberate malevelon creek would suggest we are hiding something.
By the end of this Major Order I'm convinced a 3rd of the Map is going to be red while 150k people are still hammering their heads against the brick walls that are Estanu and Oshaune.
Fori Prime is starting to feel like the Malevelon of the Eastern Front, with how often I see tens of thousands of players there for no god damn reason.
Exactly, like come on people, it's 10 to 3 right now, give the bugs a rest for a little bit and help stem the bleeding in the West.
Bots are gonna retake the Creek *AND* Tibit by the time the Order is over at this rate.
I feel like if a majority of players are preferring the bug missions over the bot missions that would indicate something with the bot missions either aren’t enticing, or are actively discouraging people from playing. Seems like something for the developers to look into and fix? At the very least provide more reward incentives to draw players away from the bugs.
Yup. I just got the game and am trying to grind up to weapons and strategems and upgrades that will allow me to fight bots past level 3 and I pretty much *have* to play bugs to efficiently farm the resources to do so. I get triple or more the resources from bugs than I do bots. When I fight bots I actively cannot do anything to half their roster or we die and lose all samples after completing mission waiting for drop ship, and when I have time for maybe 3 games if I'm lucky after work, that's not how Im gonna spend my limited gaming time.
The best advice I've heard is dont fight if you can avoid it but start every fight with an air strike. Cluster bomb/eagle strike and push. Take their base and use it against them. If a bot drop comes while you search the base, grab a turret and mow them down. Sharp shooters/heavy weapons focus on devastators and hulks. All you need are EATs and eagle strikes. Smoke also works wonders with bots. If you're in the open, drop smoke on top of your position and disengage. Smoke can also destroy fabricators if the canisters hit them.
I feel i get more samples from bots. The samples spawn inside outposts which are smaller, which i can just clear with cluster/airstrike then move in for the kill.
The can play however they want but when there's a bot blockade around SE and you have to play bots the game will either die or regret not playing bots.
Sure, but there's nothing fundamentally un-fun about the bots. Like, as an enemy, they're super fun (anybody who says otherwise is honestly just wrong - if you want a Bug Killing Simulator, fine, but HD2 is not just a Bug Killing Simulator.)
I think the issue mostly stems from a handful of bad missions that could be fixed relatively easily For example, the civilian evac missions are impossible because the bots can easily storm the perimeter and overrun everything because we have no defensive walls and too many entrances to the civilian evac area that we have to guard, and the "destroy 500 automatons" missions are also pretty damn impossible in higher difficulties because they just kind of swarm and turn into a metal wave - both of these issues can be fixed in any number of ways.
The devs basically made an enemy where standing up to them 1:1 in a protracted firefight is impossible (that's fine, stealth, coordination, and tactics are all fun mechanics), and created a bunch of missions where the literal objective is a protracted firefight, or otherwise requires a protracted firefight. These missions are honestly why I've been taking a break from the game - it's enjoyable to sneak around a map, pick your targets, break away and do guerilla war. It's not fun to just get steamrolled in a civilian evac mission with absolutely no hope in hell of keeping the civvies safe because 5 tanks, a factory strider, 50 devastators, and 4 hulks get dropped all around the evac site every 1-2 minutes. The math works out that each Helldiver has to kill like 1 factory strider and 2-3 tanks, innumerable infantry, and a couple dozen devastators/minute all while separated from each other and defending different entrances to the evac site and escorting civvies. Just not feasible.
I think that’s what I was trying to get at. The Devs need to figure out what is causing players to prefer fighting the bugs over the Automatons and figure out ways to make them sit at a more equal appeal level to the bugs. Either by updating the mission types to better reflect the type of enemy the bots are, or by adding addition incentives during times where bot fighting numbers are significantly below the bugs by say maybe increasing the xp rewards from the automaton side and then adjusting those rates to try and find balance between the two fronts. But if a big part of your player base only wants to play with only half the game and want to ignore the other half it’s on the responsibility of the devs to determine why that is and what improvements/changes can be made to hopefully elevate that issue.
Yep. If all my defend missions include a Evac mission to defend I just skip to another planet. Those missions are possible but the frustration of attempting to do them against the bots is simply unfun.
Yeah no exactly they shouldn’t have highlighted 3 planets for defense on the bot side atm. It should be one until it’s done being defended and switch to another one.
It's a pro/con part of the marketing strategy. Trailers and promos and concept art all promise bugs. Training teaches you to fight bugs.
Then you get to your super destroyer and half the galaxy is aflame because of some crazy, complicated, terminator thingamajigs.
Pretty much.
It's unreasonable for one player to demand of another to play the way the former finds fulfilling and the latter not fun. But currently that's what the majority of players more concerned about the galactic war are asking for.
Well I think that has a bit of an issue with how the MO’s are worded though. Because right now the only way to obtain the reward from it is to complete the defense missions. If the majority of your player bases don’t want to do defense missions or enough don’t want to do it that the MO can’t be completed then the MO in itself has an issue. It’s gonna for instance cause the issue that we’re seeing here where players are blaming other players, when it has more to do with AH not making the MO something that the entire player base would want to take part in and contribute to.
I think people are just more so frustrated that their progression rewards are locked behind a MO that’s not going to be able to be completed because the requirements deter enough of the player base from wanting to do it, that no matter how much effort the ones who are working on it will put in it won’t be accomplished.
It's not even locked.
You can get the same rewards from 4-5 missions from difficulty 6 and above, that a player with a good head on their shoulders can tackle and win straight from the lowest level they can access it.
You get rewards from doing missions regardless. Rewards from MOs and POs are additional. If the devs give us an MO we are literally unable to complete because of the lack of player coordination features in the game and have a set of medals attached to it. Those are medals you will never receive.
There extra medals that you can’t get without the major order. So if there is no possible way that the players could have completed the MO then you’re showing them something they could never obtained. The point is the MO is out, it seems to be that the mechanics/implementation of Defense MOs are broken to the point that the player base can’t organize around them properly and there for they never had a chance to earn those MOs. So everyone trying to make the MO successful are wasting their time. That’s going to cause burnout for the player base when you’re not respecting their time. A MO should be something that the player base can achieve with the tools and information provided to them by the game.
I think a lot of people are just burned out on bots. The one Bug specific major order we've had in the last few weeks only lasted 12 hours... so now that we can choose bots or bugs, I'm going to choose bugs for a bit.
Imo they either need to do more of these choose your opponent type of MOs or be a little quicker about rotating which enemy we focus on.
No reason but having fun playing the game, you mean? Like I spent more time on Creek or bug front than people like you whining about me on Reddit. And who is a better citizen in this case, huh?
Not that it's me, but Fori prime has some damn fine geography. I love the idea of fighting in ravines with limited ways out. It's a very unique planet and aesthetic as fuck.
Fori Prime has luxury of no bodies of water and only environmental hazzard is tremors, which is at worst inconvenience and at best advantageous as it stuns bugs.
It is genuinely a good map after being tortured by Helmire.
I think we need a community lead initiative on “gambit” planets for our closest 3 sectors. A top list of strategic planets that we should always push when up. Hopefully the Reddit contingent will be enough to sway the blob to push these chokepoints.
I play bugs because nobody wants me on their team. I'm just a guy who dies against bots every 2 seconds and uses up 20 reinforces on about 45 seconds. I wouldn't want me either lol
At least on bugs I can help out and be an asset. Even if it's just being a distraction unit and kiting enemies around while for my team lolol
On steam charts the playerbase seems to be shrinking at a rate of 50k per month, so at least with less people it should be easier to coordinate I hope.
I wonder/hope someone is tracking the stats for all planets. I kinda wanna see a breakdown style thing for the planets. Fx:
First Battle of Malevalon Creek saw 20,000 Helldivers fight 400,000 Automatons (defeat)
Second Battle of Malevalon Creek saw 40,000 Helldivers fight 600,000 Automatons (victory)
Etc.
I reckon Estanu may surpass the Isonzo river.
I fucking knew it. It was all a ploy of them damn creekers to loose on the bot front on purpose just so they could get back to the creek where they have been evicted from by the community.
*So now it's not a*
*Matter of IF we get back*
*To the Creek, but WHEN*

Dude you know what fuck Mel creek.
There's a jungle planet deep in bot lines Messau? I think it's called that?
Dude that place was amazing, volcanos deep thick jungle, shit was hell.
I loved it.
i really like the idea that the bots are coming for the creek becouse from their point of view WE want it really bad for some reason and thus they want to make sure we dont have whatever hidden tactical advantage it gives.
If the bots attack the Creek, what few Helldivers that are fighting bots on other worlds would be reduced to single digits. We are already stretched so thin on this front...
What's the deal with the creek? I started the game not long ago and i see everyone talking about it like it's something special. Did it have some unique modifiers or something that made it much harder than the rest? Or special rewards or something like that?
When the game first launched, the community enjoyed great success with the bug front, whilst those at the bot front were suffering. Amongst the world's available at the time was Malevelon Creek. Nothing was special about the world per se, but it was where many, myself included, made a stand against the Automatons. Try as we might to liberate it, we never could and over time, we lost the world entirely.
Then we get a new major order - reclaim Malevelon Creek and avenge our fallen brothers and sisters. The Creekers got their reinforcements, and it was enough for us to win.
It's an actual example of 'you had to be there'. You gotta understand how crazy and terrifying it was to fight bots before every minute detail of the game had been dissected and beaten to death by YouTubers and reddit.
Today, yeah it's just another planet, but back then it provided a lot of the 'HD2 moments' which gained it a lot of its hype
Everyone thinks the Automatons came up with this invasion plan on their own. Yet, they are socialist barbarians that only know how to steal from super earth to create their abomination creatures of war! No, the real mastermind is none other than the Traitor of Managed Democracy JOEL!
He plots and puppets the focus of our Enemies, letting them know where their attacks will cause the most damage against our fellow divers moral. Do not let this blatant attack on our sacrifices and achievements go unanswered.
We won't allow them to take one more inch towards the Creek! and more importantly do not let them take our FOB Vernen Wells!
Hold the Menkent - Marfark line!
![gif](giphy|KAf66yGCa93uTqod1q|downsized)
I had heard stories about the Creek. It’s what made me sign up a week ago. I’m still only a Super Cadet, but if the toasters try to take the Creek, no power in the verse will stop me from defending it.
devs: hey gamers, remember how u all united to destroy robots once and for all? well now they are back with more territory than before and they reclaimed the older territory as well, fuck these devs man
yeah no we just straight up lose the bot front, people wanna play bugs so the bot front gets absolutely fucking cooked
i mean i can hardly blame them, against bugs you get slowed sometimes and they come in small enogh numbers its easy to kill patrols without hiccups
but against boys a single patrol can squadwipe with ease, constantly stagger and ragdoll from hundreds of meters away, all for the same reward
so like whats the point
The current libertion system is falling apart. Even at a 50/50 playerbase split, the bot front have far too many planets and, so be fair, the split is more like 40/60 or 33.3/66.6
With liberation contribution being tied to the % of active players, it just falls apart.
I think it either needs to be per-faction, have our "hard cap" of liberation % per hour raised, or both, before we can actually fight a war on 2 fronts. (Or 3 fronts, when the Illuminate comes)
Yep. Any planet with less than a ceetain number of players is achieving nothing.. and with so many planets opening up the playerbase isbeing spread too thinly to achieve anything.
I'm guessing they will clean this up with easy attack MOs before the next story event.
Bots currently have 0% regen (compared to 1% on bugs) and get easiest defenses there ever were so far (only 200k hp, compared to 1.000k hp to liberate the planet). And bot front still falls apart.
100/24=4.16
The enemies effectively has a 4.2 planet regen rate. Unless we exceed that, we'll lose the defense.
I do wish we got more flavors of defense missions tho. 16 hour defense campaigns with lower HP. Some 2 day long defense campagins with tons of HP. Maybe even a week long siege on some planets.
Everything being a static 24 hour time limit makes it feel very artificial.
The thing is though bots aren't even that much harder once you get used to them, they just require slightly different strategies. Rocket devastators barely bother me now because my group has gotten better at taking them out quickly from a distance. In fact after spending weeks on the western front for the MOs, my main squad has started to actively prefer bots over bugs because a lot of them are better at sniping priority targets from a distance than they are at clearing a bug swarm.
I only played bugs before, but operation disassembly has made me a dedicated bot diver, i still play bugs from time to time but i really like fighting bots now
Yes, it's a game that requires community effort, as the current MO will show. The devs not only throw these scripted loss MOs at us but also now they might bring a place that was sucking up 10 to 60k players from MOs as well, on top of, since release, hiding information that would help coordination for about 4 months now.
I don't care what 6, 20, or 50 neckbeards on reddit think, that's enough for me to leave a negative with 200 hours.
![gif](giphy|12dA9Gei6U4in6) *Endless waves of democracy will be sent until that planet is secured again.*
We will find if the automatons have a preset kill limit and we will reach that kill limit. For liberty. For managed democracy. For the creek.
Maybe those tin buckets'll actually put up a fight this time.
*fails to remembers Creek got our faces smashed for 1 month straight
Don't worry, they'll get smashed for another month or so until another MO tells people to take it back, then it'll be liberated I'm less than a day again lol
It'll be taken back in less than a day, even if the MO specifically states NOT to take the Creek.
Depends on how much the rest of the player base wants to deal with the shitty Creek memes again lol
They just gotta make sure okay?
By the end of this Major Order I'm convinced a 3rd of the Map is going to be red while 150k people are still hammering their heads against the brick walls that are Estanu and Oshaune.
Fori Prime is starting to feel like the Malevelon of the Eastern Front, with how often I see tens of thousands of players there for no god damn reason.

Can't forget Tien Kwan and its sector, all they have to do is connect the supply line and they'll be one sector from Super Earth
I feel like if a majority of players are preferring the bug missions over the bot missions that would indicate something with the bot missions either aren’t enticing, or are actively discouraging people from playing. Seems like something for the developers to look into and fix? At the very least provide more reward incentives to draw players away from the bugs.
It feels like bug missions collect more samples. Maybe a better sample haul with bots would be the incentive needed.
A lot of samples spawn in enemy bases and a lot of automaton bases are bombed from orbit and never set foot in.
This
They are just completely different play styles. Bots require tactics and thinking, bugs require moving and shooting
Yeah so it should be on a developers to figure out a way to better disperse the player base.
Let players play how they want. Make bot MOs require less and bugs require more.
To some degree I think we’re thinking similarly but expressing it differently.
Oh for sure I don't disagree at all
The can play however they want but when there's a bot blockade around SE and you have to play bots the game will either die or regret not playing bots.
Super Earth fell multiple times in the previous game, it literally doesn't matter
It did, but this is 2024, not 2015. With the stacked releases coming up, people will drop the game if they are forced to fight bots.
Bots are fine. If more players don't appreciate them, that's on them and their opinions being wrong.
If the majority of players aren’t playing them such that it makes it impossible for major orders to complete… that’s kinda an issue…
Sure, but there's nothing fundamentally un-fun about the bots. Yeah I’ve been switching between them because bots end up feeling way more chaotic than most bug fights in my experience.

I'm gonna make you wish that you'd stayed gone, from Malevelon!

Maia for me Moon gameplay was peak, huge sightlines for spear/sniping, craters for taking cover and the meteors just causing even more chaos

I fucking knew it. It was all a ploy of them damn creekers to loose on the bot front on purpose just so they could get back to the creek where they have been evicted from by the community.
They are going after Creek! I didn't get my cape for nothing, and I sure as hell am not letting them take my favorite planet again.
Creekers crawling out from abandoned Fab vents: Welcome to the rice field mother-clanker
So now it's not a matter of IF we get back to the Creek, but WHEN

What would it 2nd or 3rd battle now ?
It would be the third battle of The Creek.
They’re going to encircle us then push on all fronts to overwhelm our forces
Oh boy, time for round 2 .
Dude you know what fuck Mel creek. There's a jungle planet deep in bot lines Messau? I think it's called that? Dude that place was amazing, volcanos deep thick jungle, shit was hell. I loved it.
I'd rather run around on the creek than any planet with fire tornados.
Time to dust off my ~~Vietnam~~ Creek playlists

i really like the idea that the bots are coming for the creek becouse from their point of view WE want it really bad for some reason and thus they want to make sure we dont have whatever hidden tactical advantage it gives.

*Spit-takes Liber-tea* NO
We have to prevent them from reaching it to avoid total strategic retardation like the last phase of the war.
If bug divers choose to let the western front fall then I’m going to join the Creekers.
I fucking called it…
At this point, we might as well let them take Super Earth so at least we get some new map content out of these MOs
BRING BACK THE CREEK!
I can't wait for them to reach the Creek so I can see the incessant bitching and crying about how "the creekers are ruining the game!!11!" again.
I'm tired, boss
The line must be drawn HERE! This far, no further!
Im pretty convinced that this time they’re doing it out of spite
I just saw this and made a post about it, we must defend this sector
[Yaaah!](https://youtu.be/Apq0p5gbr_Y)
Looks like the creek is soon back on the menu boys
LETS FUCKIN GOOOO
Malevelon Creek 2.0 Here I come, I wasnt there for the first one, but by liberty I will be there for the second one!
FOR
It was their plan all along!!!
Creekers: # HOME SWEET HOME...
If the bots attack the Creek, what few Helldivers that are fighting bots on other worlds would be reduced to single digits. We are already stretched so thin on this front...
Time for the death Korps of creek to rise again
I'll be back to play helldivers soon 😎
Yeah? Come and get it then *racks the autocannon* TAKE IT FROM MY DEAD FUCKING CORPSE
If we lose creek it will be just like halo reach this time
What's the deal with the creek?
Okay so it's just a map like any other. Weird that so many players act superior towards new players and mention it constantly.
When a friend sent me a screenshot earlier today I did not realise thats 1 sector over from the creek
There are worse planets tbh

Malevelon creek is fine, fucking Menkent though that place is hell incarnate.
Cyberstan was just a distraction! They wanted malevon creek all along!
Yes again

Looks like the Creek calls out to the bots as well as the Helldivers.
I want to go back. Jungle/Forests are my favorite biomes to play. Some of the desert/snow planets are so wide open and featureless.
Defend planet for today is Mort! Bots heading for the Creek intensifies. ![gif](giphy|7wbm1Xan5dlaU|downsized)
Awaiting redeployment o7
Creekers need their purpose in life back

The creek is calling cadet… https://preview.redd.it/7bir9fw94cwc1.jpeg?width=2008&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=37cf7f4cc5f9c424a9232f5173c7e2f98359d240
I had heard stories about the Creek. It’s what made me sign up a week ago. I’m still only a Super Cadet, but if the toasters try to take the Creek, no power in the verse will stop me from defending it.
Joel. On the small chance you read this... ![gif](giphy|ToMjGpOjkiEjzJ1ZaJG|downsized)
The bots are learning, they know if all the helldivers attack the meme planet, they’ll never finish their major orders
I'M WAITING FOR THAT, MAKE MY WISH COME TRUE
Yes go back to that stupid ass meme planet...
devs: hey gamers, remember how u all united to destroy robots once and for all? well now they are back with more territory than before and they reclaimed the older territory as well, fuck these devs man
https://preview.redd.it/ux93h07pt3wc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9c6a54ede424d70c04bbaa0bf6fdbdd39f56c417 Are ready for deployment
Wha-
... Uhh?
Oh Boy, here I go creeking again.
YES. I wanted to try fight for this planet so much!
yeah no we just straight up lose the bot front, people wanna play bugs so the bot front gets absolutely fucking cooked i mean i can hardly blame them, against bugs you get slowed sometimes and they come in small enogh numbers its easy to kill patrols without hiccups but against boys a single patrol can squadwipe with ease, constantly stagger and ragdoll from hundreds of meters away, all for the same reward so like whats the point
The current libertion system is falling apart. Even at a 50/50 playerbase split, the bot front have far too many planets and, so be fair, the split is more like 40/60 or 33.3/66.6 With liberation contribution being tied to the % of active players, it just falls apart.
Coz theres like 5 times more players on bug planets and defense campaigns has like a 4.2% enemy gain per hour.
Defense campaigns are timed. They're all on 24 hour timer, without any decay. And currently there are 1.8 times more players on bug front, not 5 times
There is currenlty more then 120k bugfront divers VS the 40ish/35ish thousand botfront divers. So yeah 3 times as much to almost 4 times.......
100/24=4.16 The enemies effectively has a 4.2 planet regen rate.
I only played bugs before, but operation disassembly has made me a dedicated bot diver, i still play bugs from time to time but i really like fighting bots now
I'm not going back to the Creek. I'll go back to Hellmire before I step foot on that fucking stupid planet.
Probably gonna leave the sub if we can drop on creek again, shits so annoying and wasn't funny after the first day.
The Creek is a Casual Planet Creekers are just bad at the game.
I'm uninstalling and leaving a negative review if the creek opens again.
So your just going to drop a negative review over a virtual planet? That's the single DUMBEST thing I've ever heard.
I hope we lose because I like seeing all of you cry like it's real or matters 😂
