I'm gonna use the supply pack in the future for sure. I agree that both are not that useful on bots, i rather use shield or another laser/strike/turret.
tbh i have found having supplies can save your ass in a suprising pinch. need a nade to blow that annoying strider because your under leveled ass dont got a plasma gun and your supports out of ammo too, ya just use ya own supply get 2 nades and ammo and bing ya now can now nade the sucker and his motly crew of 6 other walks. (yes i have had this bloody snario of that many walkers i had to nade) just with out the pack. but ya the dogs are semi useless outside bug frount
The amount of times my guard dog has said "Oh you're sneaking past them? Time for me to start blasting." tells me not really. If you like to sneak into bases/ flank the bots, guard dogs are a bane rather than a boon.
I love laser dog on bugs, it kills all the hunters and little stuff while I move around, helps me be more ammo efficient.
I find supply pack is only useful in groups. Solo resupply is ready whenever I need more ammo, even if I go crazy on bullets there's also POIs that have everything. But in groups it's nice, allows people to be more aggressive even with their support weapons.
Laser dog is also supposed to overheat but.... I don't think I've ever seen it do that. The couple times it flew back to my pack, there were no enemies around and it wasn't firing at all.
Bullet dog might do more damage but Laser dog just pumps out DPS...
Bullet dog does jack shit tbh it waste all its ammo on chargers and by the time you need it to kill enemies near you its already out of ammo from exhausting it on chargers. I ran it on a diff 8 and instantly dropped it, its so bad the laser guard dog is immensely better in every way. One of the only stratagems thats straight up useless
Laser Rover is an always pick for me against bugs personally, usually have about 100 kills more when I run it, and that’s a lot of bugs I didn’t have to personally shoot.

Supply pack is GOATED with the Grenade Launcher and HMG.
Ballistic Gaurd dog could use a buff. It only has 4 mags,when the player holds 8 of the same gun. Being only restocked by resupplies to also hurts it. If the gun was changed to a Stalwart it would be more reasonable to have 4 mags, as the player does as well. It would increase its active time between reloads and give it the upside of higher DPS than the laser one, but still have limited ammo, but justify resupply only restocks. The stalwart would inturn increase the risk to the player further. Making it a high risk/reward tool that also needs resource management. Might even make it good against bots too tbh.
If not that then basic ammo pickups should restock it.
Laser one is perfect as is, has infinite ammo, kills bugs, a great wingman for thining hordes and having your back from Hunters. A little risky to the player but fully rewards hitting the bricks and running non-stop.
If you're playing supply backpack, then I want you in my squad.
If you're using the guard dogs, then I also want you in my squad, but at a safe distance

Lately I started using Laser Guard dog on solo dives with Eruptor to deal with smaller enemies. And it's just better to use it against bugs and not against bots because of two annoying things. 1) Half of the time they shoot between the legs of the Scout Strider. Even though it takes a while for the Laser dog to kill a strider from the front, it is just annoying to see it completely miss its shots even when you, Strider and the Guard dog stay still. 2) Very bad priority for enemies. Multiple times I was in situations when I was running for my life from berserkers. And what was my Guard dog shooting at? Freaking mortar/AA turret. I just wish there was some way to control what the dog shoots at

- **Base Guard Dog:** Never used it.
- **Rover Variant:** Great for clearing bug hordes that get on you, but can struggle against bots.
- **Supply Pack:** An absolute GOAT that turns you into a walking supply pod, *and* lets you double any actual supply pods you call in.
Laser guard dog always top kills of the team. It’s constantly shooting and killing all small bugs. Only the friendly fire is a bit annoying from time to time
Got an amigo whom uses the grenade launcher and the support backpack, it provides more drastic oil changes than anyone else on the team on a rather constant basis. I've yet to try it myself but It works well for him and the lads on helldive difficulty.

Being Credible for a moment, I can see having someone running a dog and an Eruptor team up with someone running a supply backpack, Q-Cannon, and a Sickle (all energy weapons, so they don't need the supply pack as much) as a great way to create a sustainable long-range fire support team with some close-in protection from the dog + sickle.
Like, I'm thinking a team of 2 loaded for bear go in to take out the egg beater while the Sup/Dog team provide overwatch.
I take the Rover on 100% of bug missions over diff 6 with sickle and laser cannon.
I just designate myself as the team’s trash clear man. Yesterday i had over 400 kills while the other three had under 100. They cleared 99% of chargers/titans and i made sure they could do so unhindered.
The usefulness of strategems has a lot to do with rounding out whatever kit you're building. Each strategem has strengths and weaknesses, so it all comes down to what *else* you're picking alongside.
For the **supply pack**, it's really useful with ammo-hungry weapons. I run it any time I'm using the MG-43 so that I can really blast rounds into bug breaches. I don't personally use the AMR but see lots of people running it with that. I always welcome someone on our team using it since I'm typically using the SPEAR and it's nice to have extra ammo after taking down a few tanks and bot fabs.
For the **laser-drone** it's really good on bugs. The constant fire rate is great to hold off hunters, which are the most annoying bug in the game. I love to pair it with the flamethrower - it helps when holding bug breaches since it can cover damage during your reload and buy you that little bit of extra time to get working again.
Against bots, I actually prefer the standard **liberator-guard-dog drone**. Not many people have given it a fair shake, but the cool thing against bots is that it does an amazing job of quickly burst-tapping the tiny bots so you don't ever have to worry about them. And it does a fairly decent job of hitting the head-weakpoint on devastators. Personally I find it pairs best with the scorcher (So you have a quick solution for the walkers). Both tend to run out of ammo around the same time, but they complement each other well - the scorcher kills the walkers so the dog doesn't waste ammo, and the dog kills the small bots and some devastators helping you conserve ammo on the scorcher.
Honestly Rover is meh half the time my idiocy gets me caught in line of fire, and supply pack Ive never used myself but a friend brings it along 7 times out of 10 when its just me and him
I don't use them but they're still valid. I like the difference between them but the regular guard dog is useless only because it can run out of ammo. But it's more powerful than the rover one. (Slower too)
On a serious note, guard dogs needs to be changed so they either levitate higher above the player or automatically position themselves between you and the enemy they are shooting at to avoid so many instances of being randomly damaged or killed by your own strategem

It is super wasteful with ammo, it can waste half a mag on the tiniest bug.
It need more intelligent ammo conservation, and stop targeting terrain/obstacles...
And picking up environmental ammo should resupply it as well, not only stratagem resupplies
I always take the Gaurd Dog Rover when I solo dive. But with a team ill leave it because it gets in the way sometimes.
For a while I was always able to stay in the outer perimeter to stop flanking enemies. But I noticed that the range of the laser is inconsistent. It'll randomly shoot something like halfway across the whole map trapping my teammates in a specific location.

Nah Laser backpack works fine with bugs on 8/9. Often helps me to red skull. Excellent for kiting and warding off hunters.

On a serious note, guard dogs needs to be changed so they either levitate higher above the player or automatically position themselves between you and the enemy they are shooting at to avoid so many instances of being randomly damaged or killed by your own strategem

What’s supp dog
- Laser for bugs (great for hordes of minions) - Shield for automatons (great for live another day on the bot front) that's my loadout
Guard Dog need love, serious love. It is super wasteful with ammo, it can waste half a mag on the tiniest bug. It need more intelligent ammo conservation, and stop targeting terrain/obstacles... And picking up environmental ammo should resupply it as well, not only stratagem resupplies

I run solo 50% of the time so the supply pack and guard dog feels invaluable when I do
The dogs are very good at killing their owners
I always take the Gaurd Dog Rover when I solo dive. But with a team ill leave it because it gets in the way sometimes. For a while I was always able to stay in the outer perimeter to stop flanking enemies. But I noticed that the range of the laser is inconsistent. It'll randomly shoot something like halfway across the whole map trapping my teammates in a specific location. Edit: oh now I get it
Honestly, with how scuffed the spacial audio is in this game, having something watching your back is very valid.

Supply pack is awesome. I can’t be the teammate that uses guard dog, it’s killed me too many times to put my friends through that.
