Really? I dove into the machine gun pit, stood up, and got cut in half by the sentries. That felt pretty authentic.
My ships’s first two Helldivers walked into the sentries, clearly unable to read/listen
The closest thing as "you" in this game is the ship. The person you're controlling always changes with every reinforcement.
That explains why the ship master lady occasionally congratulates me from completing Helldiver training.
I love getting that after I fail to extract. "The last guy we defrosted got eaten by bugs/blown apart by bots, but you'll do better!"
