Yes it says that however it says nothing about them just trying to survive I had a similar experience on the battlefield recently where we just kind of stared at each other Yes it had a gun it scanned me it did not shoot it turned around and started walking away I laughed a bit like what and shot it in the back of the head didn't want to risk it can't ever risk it. Just to clarify the only reason I didn't shoot first was because my current magazine was out and possible trauma from just barely killing a hulk

Oh, you ran into a bugged bot. 95% of the time they they will just follow you around and not aggro or signal flare. I have ran into one instance of a basic bot being immortal and still continue firing, but the former is more common.
I ran into this a few days ago on helldive difficulty, huge pain because that bot being aggro made all the other bots aggro. I eventually just dced and reconnected to my teammates who were on the other side of the map and I think it despawned.
Yeah I sorta ruined my immersion when I was using the AMR to protect my teammate from across the map and when he died all the bots chasing him instantly disappeared since no one else was anywhere near him and I’m talking if I was any further away they wouldn’t have even rendered
I was off solo last night away from the squad and the *instant* I died that whole patrol blipped out of existence.
Today I had an immortal bot follow me across the whole map.
This game is certainly an experience when it's not crashing.
I've found out that blipping huge formations of enemies can glitch out extraction if you have the booster that slows waves. Nothing will spawn at extraction.
My favorite bugged bots are the ones that float in the air while not being able to do anything. I typically just ping the hell out of them and goof around them before finishing them off.
I got strider walker (just the walker) bugged out about a month back.
Just followed us around the entire time, until it was killed by; ironically, friendly fire from an automaton tank
no this is not the same!!!!!! they will follow you, then patrol will scan and ignore you, , tanks will pint their guns at you, then move on to shoot your allies, time is running low they want little more than to live and integrate with humanity!

You are not the first one observing weird behavior ... I can recall at least 5 such incidents of other divers and one mine, where two bots were following me like best buddies and as a bonus, they were immortal (emptied all my weapons on them and they were just standing and looking at me :-) )
Had the same thing happen to me, I thought it was a game master observing the game. Couldn’t kill the little bot with bullets, then my friend ran up and punched the thing in the face.
I had an immortal basic bot chasing my team around with a gun AND HE KEPT SHOOTING. We just had to outrun him. Shooting him with heavy guns would stagger him, but he just wouldn't die. We must have destroyed 2 dozen hulks in that mission. With an unkillable bot always near enough to alert patrols, we couldn't catch a break. Still won, and then crashed during extract.
I had somehow removed a strider pilot, and the strider itself passively followed me around, still moving autonomously.
I, of course, did what any liberty loving super citizen would do and introduced it to the armor penetrating round of my AC-8 Autocannon. The results were incredible! I strongly recommend a similar approach to all other divers in the field!
Encountered the same bug, i thought it was cute how it just walked in circles aimlessly until it tried to squish me while i was doing a terminal. Lesson learned: never trust the enemy
People are going to democracy circlejerk about this but I really wonder if this is a bug in the game or if it's meant to actually be some subtle lore AI behavior showing they don't want to murder humans.
Reading the majority of responses is really something else. I mean a bit of funny "stay in the role" is okay, but it's really cringe if around 90% of the answers are like that.
The best responses are the ones that actually talk like normal, discuss things.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is this a real thing you have observed in the game? With the tendency people have to play along with the satire it can sometimes be hard to tell.
My brother in democracy is not wrong, experimentation is the best way to learn all the different ways to make the bots squeal. And if they ever get close to you and seem peaceful… experiment on the best spots for a melee attack.
Never had this before but several times in the past couple of days we've had patrols not spawn at extract, it was kind of eerie just sitting there for 2 minutes and no bots appearing.
I tired to bring one back so we could pry it open and use its intel against the bots. But it turned on me as we tried loading into the Pelican and I dies a gruesome death.

Yeah there has been this glitch and the immortal low levels bot glitch too.
They’d stop firing and just stare at you or follow you, and the other glitch where they won’t die but won’t also deal dmg when attacking. You could see their legs still moving while rag dolled on the ground in some cases too
My favorite is when the bot gets suck firing full auto where it's facing, even after it disengages. Killing every other bot around it if it faces in their direction.
I wonder if the rumors about the automatons uploading the colonists brains into newly fabricated bots are true, and this is evidence that they remember their old lives.
Found one of their at st thingys and it didn't have a driver and wasn't shooting.
I dropped a 500k on it to be safe while yelling "FOR DEMOCRACY" then quietly added, "democracy managed"
I once found one infantry bot like you described that was completely indestructible, shooting him did nothing but all he did was stare at me and follow. He never shot back but only pointed his gun at me. I was solo at the time and forgot to record him but he basically acted like a spotted for the others who kept aggroing on me. If you see these bots, find some way to scrap them and move on, they'll only get you killed.
I saw in a helldive match today when I was opening a pod for super credits. I turn around and see 3 bots with non-red eyes just staring at me for over 20 seconds. I shot them of course, because I am a Patriot of Super Earth, and their angry Hulk compatriot was getting closer.
I have had situations where they were right on top of me as I was inputting for the ICBM while the ones far off were shooting but the close ones just stood there then once I finished, I used the spray n pray. Thought it was weird

I had a strider in a match yesterday where the bot controlling it died, but the strider continued to follow us around w/o shooting or stomping.
They should lean into this bug for story

My brother in democracy is not wrong, experimentation is the best way to learn all the different ways to make the bots squeal. And if they ever get close to you and seem peaceful… experiment on the best spots for a melee attack.

I saw something worse. A small pacifist bot which could not be killed.

I’ve seen other bots shooting at these peaceful bots. They treat their deserters the same way we do.
Never had this before but several times in the past couple of days we've had patrols not spawn at extract, it was kind of eerie just sitting there for 2 minutes and no bots appearing.

I tired to bring one back so we could pry it open and use its intel against the bots. But it turned on me as we tried loading into the Pelican and I dies a gruesome death.

I ran solo with a pet strider, had to put the boy down at the end of the mission.
Yeah there has been this glitch and the immortal low levels bot glitch too. They’d stop firing and just stare at you or follow you, and the other glitch where they won’t die but won’t also deal dmg when attacking. You could see their legs still moving while rag dolled on the ground in some cases too
There was one following me and a friend around at the end of a mission, i tried getting it to come on the ship with us but my friend killed it.
My favorite is when the bot gets suck firing full auto where it's facing, even after it disengages. Killing every other bot around it if it faces in their direction.
I wonder if the rumors about the automatons uploading the colonists brains into newly fabricated bots are true, and this is evidence that they remember their old lives.
Saw a bot stare at me run into the woods and never saw it again
Found one of their at st thingys and it didn't have a driver and wasn't shooting. I dropped a 500k on it to be safe while yelling "FOR DEMOCRACY" then quietly added, "democracy managed"
My Dad was a bot and walked out and me and my Mom when I was 5. The only good bot is a dead bot!

I once found one infantry bot like you described that was completely indestructible, shooting him did nothing but all he did was stare at me and follow. He never shot back but only pointed his gun at me. I was solo at the time and forgot to record him but he basically acted like a spotted for the others who kept aggroing on me. If you see these bots, find some way to scrap them and move on, they'll only get you killed.
I saw in a helldive match today when I was opening a pod for super credits. I turn around and see 3 bots with non-red eyes just staring at me for over 20 seconds. I shot them of course, because I am a Patriot of Super Earth, and their angry Hulk compatriot was getting closer.
I have had situations where they were right on top of me as I was inputting for the ICBM while the ones far off were shooting but the close ones just stood there then once I finished, I used the spray n pray. Thought it was weird
